Owen Roberts International Airport

Such a lovely little airport with the most friendly and welcoming staff. Everything felt easy and stress-free—from check-in to boarding. A great first and last impression of the island!

Nice & Small Airport. The airport was clean, staff was nice. It was pretty fast to get through TSA, lines weren’t extremely long. They have a couple stores and eating places. If you’re going to the states you can purchase the pure white Hennessy or other liquor that’s hard to find in the states.

Immaculate mens' restrooms. Generally friendly staff ! Medium-Slow single line to get to the gates... Only one gift shop... so if you forgot something, you're pretty much out of luck - their variety is low. Still, it's 400x the airport MIA could ever wish to be.

Efficient airport. They are British serious about checking your liquids. Do yourself a favor and check even medium size liquids to save yourself a hassle. No pre check here. Shoes off. Computers and tablets out. There are power outlets on the seats by the restroom near gate8 as well as an indoor play ground for the kids. As far as airports go, this was a good one.

I love this airport and all the workers. However, our flight was cancelled last Saturday for United with tech issues. While I’m happy that they took the precautions they did, the untied team at the airport gave us zero answers. In fact, the United representative locked herself in her office and refused to answer questions because she “had no answers.” So she wasn’t taking a questions. Meanwhile, over 300 folks were given $15 meal vouchers on an island that won’t even buy you a bottle of water for $15. It’s not the airports fault. However, there was a large amount of staff that was super friendly and super helpful. For that we adore the airport. I took away the 1 star for the folks that need to take lessons from the good ones.

Fairly quick passing through customs upon arrival. Departing took much longer than expected. There is no TSA pre check here. General security for everyone. If lines are super busy and you are not alone I recommend after checking your passport for one of your group to stand in security line while you check in. There was live music as well, which was really nice

Small and convenient to Georgetown but slow security and they check your back for anything they can. Make sure to put your toiletries in clear bags and clear containers. The bottle itself has to be under 3oz or they’ll throw it even if it’s clear and almost empty, they claim it’s because they don’t have TSA. Also you can’t get on your phone after you get here and are waiting for your luggage, a dude got mad at me for being on my phone while waiting. Would’ve loved to know all of this before getting here.

The was a gentleman who worked there who saved us ! Me and my family including out 2 kids were in a frenzy and this man who worked at the airport and saved us ! He was an angel! His name was Harris! Thank you!!! bless you !!! Caymanian people are such beautiful souls :)
