Owen Roberts International Airport

Easy to get bus from here once you Land. Walk to the end then to the right by a tree or across the street by the crossing you can get the bus. Immigration system sucks as there is no one guiding you however you don’t need to use the machines because sometimes they don’t work and you still have to see an agent. No crazy taxi stand or pushy. Free wig on airport for as long as you need. Lactating room and playground and there’s Wendy’s and subway inside when leaving. Restaurant around the airport in near by streets as well. Security check took 10 minutes on Monday at 11:30 am. No need to remove shoes or to take liquids out or on any bags. Plenty of trash cans and seats in the meantime to wait for your flight. There’s only a few gates (9) and they move pretty fast. Water is $2 or so.

Such a lovely little airport with the most friendly and welcoming staff. Everything felt easy and stress-free—from check-in to boarding. A great first and last impression of the island!

Very crowded and limited options and seating. Self check-in kiosks must be from 2004, they do not print luggage tags and struggle to read passports. The relatively new kids play area was closed and in disrepair. Most of the airlines are only able to scan paper boarding passes. If you are lucky enough to have a flight during an afternoon thunderstorm you get to stand outside in a line while boarding. For the fees charged to fly through this airport I would expect better.

Nice & Small Airport. The airport was clean, staff was nice. It was pretty fast to get through TSA, lines weren’t extremely long. They have a couple stores and eating places. If you’re going to the states you can purchase the pure white Hennessy or other liquor that’s hard to find in the states.

I love airports, and I love this one the most. I love how small it is (But big considering the island.) and they always have the nicest people, and they are happy to help! Although, the check-in's can always be a little hard - I don't mind because they always try their best. This. Is. My. Favorite. Airport. Also I wasn't sure where to recommend Cayman Airways, but they are also my favorite airline 😎

Unfriendly, and super strict rules for carryon bags. It is ok to have rules that are strictly enforced, but they could be clearly posted. We checked bags and had multiple items confiscated which we could have easily checked. It was ridiculous items like 2 oz of mouthwash in a 5 oz bottle, trace amounts of toothpaste in a nearly empty tube, and a plastic corkscrew. I have flown all over the place with these items and never had an issue. It. Also took 15 minutes to get to my bag and it was not busy. The people were almost hostile when I asked if I could empty my mouthwash bottle. Really off putting like I would rather not come back to the Cayman Islands. What a horrible way to leave a beautiful place!

As typical of other reviews, there was an incredibly rude staff member at arrivals who berrated and belittled our group for having the wrong quantity of forms filled (i.e. one for the entire group and one filled individually when it should've been vice-versa) despite us having been told what to do on the flight by the airline, and us actually having brought up this question and being assured to fill out that form for the whole group. Anyway, she goes on to talk slowly and insultingly about how this isn't the airline's fault and is fully ours; cue an entire flight with the same problem. Figures. Probably the worst I've ever been spoken to by a fully grown adult working a damn public facing job. Total power trip clearly.

Super clean airport. Everybody was very friendly and we got through Custom super quick. They use a digital system so there was no lag time. Bathroom needed toilet paper, but they restocked almost immediately.
