A nice cafe to get a coffee on the go! I visited early in the morning on a Friday and there was no wait. Oxmantown offers the Best Pain Au Chocolat that I have tasted in Dublin by far and I have been to many pastry/coffee shops. Coffee was pretty good as well. I recommend checking them out if you’re in the neighborhood.

Google
Lovely cafe on the Luas line. Sandwich selection is very good, and coffee is excellent. Seating inside and some seating outside also.

Mark Doherty (Leenan)

Google
Really good coffee Worth the walk away from the chains just down the road I missed out on a Ruben sandwich I was eager to try, I’ll be back to give it a go

Lukas Natulus

Google
One of the best sandwich shop Dublin for sure, we ordered Ham and chese and Reuben. The bread was really fresh as well as the meat for the sandwich, definitely worth a try for anyone who loves sandwich.

Matheus Moreno

Google
The best sandwich I've had in Dublin! The ham and cheese one is divine. And they have such good prices!

Google
So good I came back twice in four days just to try their ham sandwich, which was sold out on my initial visit. I was not disappointed is an understatement. Great playlist on our eat in day, lovely bench outside on the second visit. Fabulous locally roasted coffee, an amiable staff, and a slew of yummy local products to take along home, including bean to bar chocolate and sauces. The Reuben was divine and the ham sandwich was ridiculously scrumptious. I will be back in February and dreaming about my next sarmie until then.

Google
Fab toasted sarnie for my partner. Lovely coffee and gluten free polenta cake for me! Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you very much.

Google
Really good black pudding sandwich. Great service & surprisingly quiet given its location.

Yelp
My sandwich was delicious. Ham and Cheese, but fancy, and they made me ice tea which was just what I wanted. Super friendly staff. I may go for coffee in the morning.

Yelp
On the run? And in need of a good sandwich? Well you'll find it right here! I've gone here a couple of times, and it's simply 'convenient'! The pricing isn't so bad, and neither is the taste of their sandwiches. Quite scrumptious if you ask me! Here's what I've tried: ~ The RUBY (€5.50): Made with a healthy serving of kanturk pastrami, add some saurkraut, slap on the swiss cheese, glide some horseradish on rye bread and you're golden! If you order this for breakfast, then you best eat it while it's hot. But also not bad if you plan to save it for lunch. ~ The HAM and CHEESE (€5.50): Made with ham hock slices and grilled gruyere cheese, a couple of tomatoes, some pickles, and all put together between some toasted sour dough. Can't say it's the best ham'n'cheese ever (as most yelpers have mentioned), but it wasn't the worst. Delish! ~ Regular Coffee (€2.20): Bold and aromatic! Full-flavored, and kept me awake. Great way to start your day! I dig it! I'll be back!

Yelp
Oxmantown do the best brownies in Dublin. They are amazing. They are full of nuts and are incredibly gooey and soft on the inside. So chocolatey. So very chocolatey. What makes them even better is the fact that they are only 75 cents. That is right; the best brownie in Dublin is only 75 cents. There are many places selling inferior brownies for more than 3 times that much. Oxmantown's brownies blow them out of the water in every possible way. The café is situated on Abbey street, just off Capel street. It is a nice little place; brightly lit and quiet with a great window to sit in and watch the trams go by. They do lovely homemade soups and some really good sandwiches. I got the Ruby (Reuben ; delicious pastrami on rye with saurkraut, pickles, horseradish and swiss cheese. Thoroughly delicious; the best Reuben I've had outside of New York. They have great coffee too (I think its Cloud Picker). My one issue with this place is its absurd opening hours; they open nice and early at 7.30am but they close very early too 4.00pm. When I have the chance to pop in at lunch time and pick up some brownies I do, but I am usually on my way home just after 4.00 so it is rare that I get to do that. I know it is a minor issue but I would love to make Oxmantown brownies a part of my walk home every day :P

Yelp
Oxmantown is such a gem! I came in here for lunch with a friend and upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the friendly guys behind the counter. They've got a nice number of sandwiches to select from on the wall, as well as an assortment of baked goods on the counter. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich (€5.50) and a Mint Lemonade, and by-golly, they were delicious. I thought the sandwich was a little dry because of the bap bread, but the flavors were definitely there. If you get anything out of the review, please take note that the Mint Lemonade is a god send. It is so refreshing, and I would highly recommend it--on a sunny day, people watching, sippin' on some lemonade... that's the good life. Oxmantown, I'm coming back for ye!

Yelp
Just another note to add to the below. Two words. Iced. Tea. Home Made. Try It. So Refreshing. Tangy Treat. Healthy Drink. Must Buy. Go Now. Trust Me!

Yelp
Seriously good sandwiches and salads for lunch. There's not much room to eat in (standing space only), so it's strictly a take-away joint, but it's cute and friendly and the service is fast. The ham and cheese was particularly memorable and another great example of how simple ingredients done well can be mind-blowing. Oxmantown's version of this classic sandwich is made with real ham (chunks of moist tender meat, not the rubbery pre-sliced stuff from the supermarkets), gruyere, bechamel sauce, tomato and toasted to perfection on sourdough. SO good. The Lebanese salad was also fantastic. It was so fresh and bursting with interesting textures and flavours - hummous, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate seeds, cucumber, mint, olives, fresh chunks of nectarines... the flavours kept giving and giving. It's all served with a pita wrap, so is definitely a meal in itself but if you wanted to share, it's a nice counter-balance to the richness of any of the meaty sandwiches. Oh, and in the mornings, you can grab a cinnamon bun and a coffee for €3.50! Bargain!

Yelp
Wow wow wow. I love sambos and man oh man do they make good sambos here! I've had this bookmarked for a while and as I'm rarely in this part of town I made a point of making a bee line to it yesterday when I was nearby! I actually really wanted to try their flatbread but they were all out. Not gonna lie, I was momentarily gutted. So I opted for their ham and cheese sandwich instead. DIVINE. This was without a doubt the nicest sandwich I've had in long long time. The ham was off the bone, there was Gruyere cheese, rocket, tomato and pickles! The bread itself was nice and chewy and fresh. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single bite. It might be a few months until I'm in this part of town again but at least I know where to get some delicious grub to go!

Yelp
Oxmantown is a great little cafe with really annoying opening hours. They open Monday-Friday from early til 4pm. This means that unless you work in the area or don't work the standard worky hours Oxmantown may well have slipped under your radar. When they're shut they just look like a solid grey box, they don't even have a shop name! It's on the window, which is hidden when the shutters are down. Anyway whenever I do happen to find myself in town during those hours I always try to swing by Oxmantown for one of their out-of-this-world brownies. They are genuinely the best ones in Dublin, and priced at SEVENTY FIVE CENTS EACH. It's insane. They are chocolatey and gooey, small enough but just the right amount, with lovely whole hazelnuts nestled inside. It's worth it to come here for the brownies alone! Aside from this they also do a selection of other small pastries (madeleines etc) and salads/sandwiches/soups. Anything I've had has been really nice and very well priced. It's also a nice place to sit & people-watch! The only downside for me is the coffee - they serve Cloud Picker and I find it quite milky for my taste.

Yelp
Great breakfast sandwiches, nice rashers and sausages from Ed Hick. Really well put together sandwiches, and the coffee is very nice, good full espresso. Best breakfast in Dublin, I will check out the lunch shortly.

Yelp
Such an adorable coffee and sandwich shop in a slightly industrial area. I stopped in with my husband for a quick bite after touring the Jameson Distillery and was pleasantly surprised. They have their menu listed out on the wall- which was a cute touch on subway tiles. I had a latte which was great, and the ham and cheese which was delicious! The bread was perfectly crisp and well proportioned to the meat and cheese. My husband had the pulled pork- which of course I had to have a few bites of. It was great! I wanted to trade him, but he wouldn't give it up!

Yelp
Only came here for coffee and to buy new beans after a meeting nearby. GREAT coffee served here. I thought the guys working there were dead sound. We were lucky enough to get two seats and sat just inside the door in the (chilly) sunshine. I loved the sound of their sandwiches. Will just have to return to try one out.

Yelp
75c hazelnut brownies? Seemed a bit cheap so I asked if I was reading it right. 'Well,' sez my genial host, 'if that's too cheap for you I can charge you 85c. Is that alright?'. 'Huh?' sez I. 'Ok,' sez he, '95c. No, a euro, just for you'. 'Okay okay! Stop right there. Grand. I'll have a coffee as well'. So, service with a smile, great coffee, and 75c brownies. Of course when I went to pay for my €2 coffee and my 75c brownie, I was told my brownie was now €2.75...but my coffee was free. Haha!

Yelp
Excellent sarnies, excellent value. Bam. That's it. Tiny little place on the LUAS track, just off Capel Street. Five sarnies on the menu, between myself and my other half I've sampled each one...they're all top class. Pulled Pork on a blaa is the pick of the bunch for me, although I'm on a dangerous pork spiral at the moment - gunna need some treatment sooner rather than later, can't get enough of the stuff. Ingredients are all top notch, everything prepared while you wait in the little open kitchen. Limeade (yes, blast from the past) is the drink of choice - they make it themselves and it's gorgeous. A few seats around the outside of the room (maybe seating for ten people tops), but mostly going for the takeaway office crowd I guess. All sarnies are 5.50 - bloody bargain.

Yelp
I've been meaning to review Oxmantown for a while now... This draft has been sitting for a month. But I keep on putting it off in order to do more research... Coffee: Good Their coffee is tasty. The barista knows what he's doing. It's not the best coffee in town (brother hubbard nearby is better), but it's good value and tasty. Snacks: Tasty brownies They sell €0.75 brownies. For context, you could get 4 of these brownies for the same price as bus ticket. They are small, but delicious. Food: excellent Oxmantown does sandwiches. (The menu is on the wall, it took me a while to find it, so be warned). Go for the pulled pork blaa. It has juicy & tender pork, good bread for it, and a great size. All their sangers are €5.50. Atmosphere: Jovial The barista at the till is friendly & witty, and the man in the kitchen is a quite complementary foil in the act. Seating: non-existant There are 10 stools in the place, so this is not a place for a pleasant afternoon's chats. It will be packed at lunch time. Be prepared to get takeaway. It is a lot less busy outside of the 1-2 lunchbreak. You should give Oxmantown a go!

Yelp
I spent two weeks trying a few cafes and coffeeshops each day, including the usual standouts like 3fe, Brother Hubbard, etc. Oxmantown consistently had the best coffee (Cloud Picker micro roast), sandwiches, and specials out of all of them. Great laid-back vibe with a simple counter and stool setup, with a nice selection of indie rock playing. Friendly staff to boot. If you're in Dublin, go to Oxmantown.
google avatar

Yelp
THAT brownie!!! Oh my Goodness, I can never un-know about this place now so my waistline is in trouble. It's rich, it's got proper big hazelnuts in it, it's home made, the perfect size and it's only 75c. Add an americano which was also so so good and you get change from 3Euro. In Dublin. Seriously! There's free water to enjoy alongside your brew if you like it Viennese, the staff is incredibly friendly and I like the layout with small stools along the windows to watch people passing by. Very cool place indeed!
google avatar

Geoff R.

Yelp
If there's a better sandwich in town I haven't found it, and believe me I've looked. The pulled pork is a must if you've never been before, but the corned beef should now be overlooked either. Keep an eye out for the daily specials too. The lamb with mint aioli is stunning at the minute and there was a sirloin one a few weeks back that would make a native of Argentina weep with delight. Enjoy
google avatar

Jennie C.

Yelp
Ooh the sandwiches here are yum! I went for the pulled pork and my boyfriend got the ham and cheese. Both were amazing. The pulled pork had this boiled egg type of dressing - perfection! I love the simple non nonsense interior - there's not much seating though so you may have to take it to go. Lastly, I took Emily's suggestion to get the ice tea (it was like an arnold palmer, with lemonade). It was lovely and tangy and just the right amount of sweet.

Yelp
Great coffee, great sandwiches and my personal favourite; great cinnamon rolls. I work around the corner from Oxmantown and would HIGHLY recommend it. The staff are great too and always remember my regular order before I ask for it. Pop in and try it out, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
I'll keep this one short... Oxmantown make the best Pulled Pork sandwich in Dublin bar none. Yes, I've tried Brother Hubbard which is also excellent, but at nearly twice the price of The Ox's offering comes in a distant second place. The service in Oxmantown also deserves mention - always a pleasent experience. A visit to Oxmantown is highly recommended.
google avatar

Charlene C.

Yelp
Fabulous coffee and cute little shop. A staple when I visit Dublin for work and very convenient as it is on my walk into the office.
google avatar

Garrett C.

Yelp
I only get to eat here once a week as it's a bit of a trek from my office but it we'll worth the enforced exercise! The sandwiches are really great...the ham and cheese uses delicious ham hock...the pulled pork is the best in Dublin (better then Brother Hubbard) and if you want something light, the chicken and stuffing hits the spot. They also do a very tasty lemon and poppyseed slice and the famous 75c brownie is just the perfect size for a lunchtime treat. If you are on this side of town it's not to be missed!!!
google avatar

Alexandra A.

Yelp
A hipster good place - finally! Just a suggestion: can you add more and more healthier things to your breakfast menu?
google avatar

Zoe C.

Yelp
A bijou little corner of Dublin 7, very popular with the law folk of nearby Four Courts and the Kings Inns. The staff are very warm and friendly, which considering its hip reputation, comes as a surprise. Most items on the menu - the salads and sandwiches cost €5.50. If you're coming here at lunchtime (opening hours are limited to 12-4pm daily except Sundays) and joining the back of the queue, you don't have to squint over customers shoulders at a menu behind the counter - its proudly displayed on the large tiled wall facing the doorway of the café. I had the grilled cheese, served diner style in a plastic basket. It hit the spot, not the best grilled cheese I've ever had, as gruyere cheese is quite a mild cheese, but it was warm, crispy and comforting. I was lucky enough to grab one of the window benches, perfectly placed for people watching along the Luas track. This place is smart, and does attract the suits, but for the service and grub, I'll be back! Oh they also do sweet little squares of brownies if you're looking for a wee sugar hit after your lunch.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
This is going to be my new local lunch place. Fantastic and reasonably priced (5.50) sandwiches in a light airy space. I got the ham and cheese which was lovely, my companion got the pulled pork, and then I got food envy. There is not much room for sitting, but it seems that most people are getting takeaway anyways. Same price for eat in or take away which is also nice.
google avatar

Aisling O.

Yelp
The sandwiches at this place has set the standard by which all other sandwiches will be judged henceforth! Everything about this place is simple and elegant, from the low counter & stools lining the windows to the sandwich menu on the blackboard. Yet, it still provides a selection that would suit pretty much anyones tastes. I got the chicken and stuffing sandwich. It had real pork stuffing with good quality roast chicken and a delicious sage & lemon Aioli. I could not shut up about this place for about two days! The staff are really friendly & helpful also. Didn't try the coffee yet.
google avatar

Brendan S.

Yelp
The pulled pork in a soft bap steals the headlines, but try the croque. They call it "ham and cheese"; ha! It's sweet moist ham hock between the perfectly toasted sourdough with gruyere and bechamel. The Reuben is a close third; just needs another slice of pastrami (yes, I'm greedy). All three top the chicken and stuffing by a mile IMHO. Flip through one of the cookery books on the library shelf while you wait for takeaway or enjoy a dejeuner seule. I'm hunting the best sandwich on Dublin 7 and these have an early lead.
google avatar

Johnny O.

Yelp
Savage pulled pork sandwich and lovely coffee, nice one lads. Cafe is pure dinky as well
google avatar

Conor M.

Yelp
This place is small. That's the only bad thing I'll say about it. But I'm happy to give it 5 stars. Why? The sandwiches - they're just so tasty. And at €5.50 they're great value too. My favourite is the Ruby, it's one of the best around town. The 4 cheeses one is really good too. This is a great spot for a quick bite or take-out lunch.
google avatar

John O.

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches in Dublin. Simple, high quality ingredients put together very well.
google avatar

Niall H.

Yelp
I think this place is a little bit overrated. The coffee is nice. The sandwiches are ok and treats are poor. It is pretty annoying too when they refuse to toast a sandwich because they are busy. They should be trying to keep customers and be happy that they are busy.

Alex C.

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Got the sausage sandwich, absolutely delicious. Served with pickle rocket and aioli I plan on coming back soon

Wasp K.

Yelp
I dont like sitting in here because the seat table set up, and its tiny, but food and service have both been great in my experience. I got the reuben, I really like the bread they used, and i see they have a selection of more unusual stuff too for the more daring lunch. They are really fast even in lunch hour rush, the only other thing to say isI dont think they take card so I had to run up to spar.

Don W.

Yelp
Found out about Oxmantown from Instagram oddly enough. Decided to swing by early morning to give it a go. It's a small little café most of the seating is along the window facing out, it dosnt feel cramped though. They have a short counter where the till and a few baked treats are. The serve cloud picker coffee with is a favourite of mine and I have yet to go wrong with them. The coffee is both delicious and presented well. They also sell brownies! This may not seem like a big deal, but the brownies are 75c! (I got 2) seem rude not to ! The brownies have been made specifically to compliment the house coffee(Sam, from CP) with the vanilla having been personal sourced by the owner from a farm in Uganda All round a great place to stop by, staff are nice, foods nice and the place looks great too. A fab place it spend a little time in.
google avatar

Diff L.

Yelp
A hipster like cafe and love the coffee too. It's relatively small and it's located in a quiet corner next to capel street. Location is handy and only downside is they don't open on the weekends!
google avatar

SunnySide U.

Yelp
Dropped in for breakfast while on Holiday, sausage breakfast sandwich was delicious. The Vietnamese coffee wasn't what I expected but still very good. Will definitely visit again if the opportunity arises.
google avatar

Daire W.

Yelp
Having had a disappointing experience on my first visit to Oxmantown I thought it only fair that after several visits since I update my review as I can only say good things. The breakfast sandwiches are AMAZING, in fact every sandwich they have to offer and I've tried them all are excellent. The coffee isn't great but I don't go for the coffee , finally there is always really cool background music playing every time I go in.

Matt G.

Yelp
I had a nice pork belly sandwich and then ordered a coffee (Americano) after I'd finished my food. The coffee was very hot and I considered mentioning it but didn't want to appear fussy, but when the staff member asked how everything was I raised the issue. He told me in a rather condescending manner that 96C was a standard temperature - well I don't care what you read on the internet. 96C is too warm to enjoy a coffee. Maybe you should try drinking it instead of googling it. He remade it with very tepid water which I din't enjoy as it was too cool. In any event it was on the weak side The Polenta cake was good though. I'd go back but wouldn't get a coffee.

Anne G.

Yelp
This is undoubtably one of the best sandwiches, and definitely the best pastrami, I've had in Dublin. Full marks for taste, price, and quality. Can't wait to go back and try the whole menu!

Karen D.

Yelp
Great coffee and ham and cheese sarny....also brownies and madeleines are great for a little snack with a coffee...nice to see interesting spaces pop up in this part of town

Sophie D.

Yelp
amazing food! Better than all the restaurants we tried in Dublin so far. Vietnamese coffee is NOT Vietnamese though
