Lovely spot for breakfast right by Wimbledon station! The pancakes were absolutely delicious, and the coffee was just what I needed to start the day. The service was warm, friendly, and super efficient. You can really feel the care in both the food and the atmosphere. A hidden gem — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely loved it! Just have to say this place is a fab addition to Wimbledon. Came for the first time and it was packed. Thankfully we had booked a table and sat at the window and loved it. The wine is so reasonably priced. The food was amazing! We got mussels and the oyster and prawn platter. Was perfect amount of food and two bottles of wine for under £100. The service was amazing as well. Already planning on our next visit and this will definitely be our monthly date night. If you’re an oyster fan then you will not be disappointed. They were sooooo good. The mussels sauce I could have drank. Can’t wait to try new dishes next time.

Overall: Food: Wine bar/small plates This is an odd place. A limited selection of poor value wines by the glass including wine flights from £12 to £20 for three small unmeasured (the pour free hand) 75ml glasses which are absolutely pointless. The Champagne served was flat and they even agreed it was. Why not check before you serve? Theo owners clearly have no knowledge of wine nor hospitality and definitely not food. The reality is it’s an over priced mish mash of not particularly good wines sold at inflated prices and served with small plates of not very well cooked or flavourful food served by not particular knowledgable or friendly staff. Will it last? 100% it won’t in it’s current guise and from my knowledge of restaurants I’d put money on it. Despite the pretty white room there is just so much wrong here but with an open mind and clearer long term vision it’s really possible for this place to do well. What I liked: • The decor • The look of the menu but not the content What I didn’t like: • Over priced • Ridiculously small glasses of wine on the ‘flights’ • Food lacked flavour or substance • Indifferent and unhelpful service • Real lack of wine knowledge from the server Do I recommend going? NO Will I go again? NO Was it good value? DEFINITELY NOT Price Point: $$$

Very good restaurant spotted! This is a new one just opened and we tried on V day. Menu is very simple and short but the specialties are v clear - sea food. If you want to have some good oysters without needing to go into the seaside and central London, here is where you can go!

Really wanted to love this place and unfortunately it was a disappointment. We’d booked ahead on a Sunday afternoon and were dismissively greeted on arrival. It wasn’t a busy service so was surprised at this lack of front of house welcoming. The menu states to check which wines they serve by the glass and when I went to ask the waiter was met with a dismissive response and made to feel bad for asking. The service was not attentive and when we finally recieved our order the waiter put down a dish we had not ordered and promptly left the table. When we flagged them back over to rectify, they were snappy and demanded why didn’t we didn’t say earlier! I’m not sure how this warranted such a reaction and response. Unfortunately the food is overpriced, quality is low and portion sizes are small. They also served draught beer in a wine glass. I think this place has a lot of potential but staff need more training and the quality of food needs to reflect the pricing.

My friends and I booked the Oy Bar last meeting for a relaxed summer dinner after our evening workout. It was a perfect spot for a light summery dinner with friends. We felt the food was high quality and prepared in a timely manner. We specifically enjoyed the oysters sourced from Essex, England. We ordered multiple dishes and shared making the group, a range of oyster, mussels, Camembert, prawn roll, beef carpaccio, salad and escargot - which we felt was a suitable/filling amount of food. The decor is light, modern and minimalist. Relaxed vibes and perfect for small and large gatherings with friends or parents. We will defiantly be returning. Thank-you Oy Bar team 😌

Absolute gem of a place. Superb service, friendly staff and lovely vibe. Specialises in oysters, seafood and wine - what a great combination! Went with a friend and our daughters for a quick coffee before heading to Portobello market. We then returned later in the day on the way home for more restorative drinks. Welcomed with a complimentary Prosecco and a warm smile. Will definitely return to sample the food. Merci!

I visited Oy Bar with the hopes that it would become a new regular spot. As a solo diner I love visiting new restaurants and enjoying different types of food. Upon entry I was seated in the corner and was taken through the menu. I was immediately told that the menu is for parties of two or more who want to share, with the manager pointing to the sharing boards on the menu. I was made to feel immediately unwelcome as someone dining solo. I pointed out that there were main meals and small plates too which would be absolutely fine for me and ordered a 0% beer. The beer that I ordered was served in a wine glass, and the mussels that were served came in a poor quality metal saucepan that I have at home from Amazon. The sauce and amount of liquid in the saucepan immediately told me they were boil in the bag mussels which I wouldn't expect from a restaurant specialising in fish fishes. The bread too was clearly not freshly baked and felt pre packaged and partly cooked up on service. I wasn't checked in on throughout the meal, and was left waiting for the bill. I had to mention to the manager I wanted the bill only for him to thumbs up, and then still not bring the bill over until I reminded him 10 minutes later. The restaurant was mid level busy, but it was not full so service was definitely not stretched. Overall, if you're going to offer bookings of one on the website, then you need to be able to kindly welcome visitors of all social sizes into the restaurant. I felt unwelcome and judged by the staff. Average food, poor service and slap dash crockery/cutlery shows this sadly won't become a regular spot as intended.
