Good breakfast with loads of choices, but the Malaysian breakfast was available only in fish curry. That was a disappointment. I was hoping the Malaysian curry option was available in vegetarian, which it wasn't. However, the American breakfast and the pancake breakfast options were available in vegetarian, which was nice. The room was good, with a reasonably comfortable bed and decent enough amount of space, but the window in the room was facing inside the hotel, and not outside towards the street. Good shower and bathroom.||||This heritage hotel has really pretty and warm interiors, all gorgeous woodwork. Nice dining/breakfast area where you can interact with other guests, but it looked messy in the evening as some of the staff were eating there and it had not been cleaned. Staff was helpful, but I think they weren't used to seeing many solo women travelers, as they were curious about why I was alone. That was weird. Wi Fi connectivity was a bit poor at times, and kept getting disconnected. Overall, a nice experience.

Great location. I love the feel of the house. The staff is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Decorations are nice and tasteful. I like the breakfast. Love that there’s a water refilling station, as well as the 24/7 coffee/tea. The courtyard is simple, but pretty. The room I got was in the ground floor, so the window opens to the street. The placement of the bed is awkward. Bathroom is crammed. The room feels a bit stuffy.

This is a vintage house well over 100 years old, the building itself is charming with lots of characteristics, rooms have simple and yet nice old deco, there's a beautiful patio inside the house that brings a great atmosphere, for people wish to stay in an old Penang style heritage house in George town, this is a very good option to consider because it is very conveniently located and close to many attractions and local food stalls/bars/restaurants. However there are a number things to consider, first if you are a light sleeper you can pretty much forget about this place, the old wooden windows in each room offers absolutely zero soundproof, from inside the room you can clearly hear people talking and making all sorts of noises in the patio, and since this is a guest house not a typical hotel I found many guests here do not seem to care about the privacy of other guests, many talk very loudly in public area and let their kids running around and squealing inside the building, I've had a hard time sleep in this hotel since the day checked in. I also found tiny insects (look like very small ants) crawling everywhere in the room, but do keep in mind that this is a very old house constructed with wood, therefore to be fair you can't expect the same level of cleanness and comfort as in some fancy hotels. Air-con works well, internet is ok too, bathroom is small, but what really bothers me is shower area being too close to toilet and there's no curtain between them. Hotel staffs are very friendly, do let them know if you want your room to be cleaned.

Decent room size and very gopd location. For the price i paid, it is value for money. But the bathroom ceiling was dripping water when it rains, i get wet when using the toilet bowl. Informed staff, came to take pics, mop the floor and left, no action is taken. The house is situation right next to a pub, the music went on past 12mn. If you need to sleep in a quiet environment, may not be suitable.

This is a small but beautiful hotel with clean rooms and nice amenities for a good price. On top of that, the staff was extremely helpful and even let us change our booking at the very last minute for no extra cost when we missed our train. The only downside was that you could hear the bar downstairs, which was a nuisance on one occasion. Still highly recommended.

Great place to stay, location is perfect. The whole experience is very different, but feels like home. Room was a bit smaller, but big enough. It comes with a fan and AC. The staff very friendly and the bar next door has great music 😉

Absolutely awful! ||Poorly maintained, unclean and terrible staff.||This used to be a great place to stay but now must avoid at all cost. There has clearly been a change of management and this has been a disaster. ||The room I had booked was already occupied when we arrived. We were told lies by the receptionist as of the reason why the room was not available but the manager told us the truth. Some new staff made a mistake with the booking. We were moved to the right room the following day.||Breakfast is included but is extremely poor. Toasts, butter, jam, Roti Phrata and sauce. That is if you get this. On the last day only toasts were available. The receptionist told us that the hotel was quiet and therefore they did not prepare breakfast.... I guess that the fact we were guests escaped his mind...|The same receptionist, a young guy, became quite threatening when I complained again about the choice of breakfast. He basically gave me the come on to have a physical fight..... Seriously????||Unless you tell reception that you want your room cleaned, they will not do it automatically. This means no fresh towels everyday, etc.... They really cannot call themselves a hotel anymore. ||Although not allowed to smoke in the hotel, a member of staff is smoking in the courtyard.||The hotel is poorly maintained, the internet intermittent and in need of a very serious clean up.||If there was a case study on how not to run a hotel, this would be gold standard.|

Nice boutique hotel in the middle of Georgetown with the touch of malay heritage. Walking distance to most of Penang attraction in Georgetown. I like every corner of the hotel❤️❤️ Very welcoming & helpful owner. We took the king & double room. It's located at 1st floor. No lift, just simple wooden staircase. The room very spacious. Toilet re ok and they provide hot shower too. No dedicated parking space so just park at the roadside. Not so hard to find one and don't forget to pay the parking ticket👌
