"Rustic Seafood This popular boutique seafood restaurant is part of the cofoco restaurant line. It describes itself as a "combination of a restaurant in Mallorca, a French bistro, the soundtrack from a Bollywood film, a port city on Gran Canaria, East Berlin and a charter to Costa Brava". With a description like that what more can you say other than that it perfectly fits in with Norrebro's funky and flavorful mixture of cultures, grit, and casual fine dining."

Oyster and Grill presents a compelling dining option for enthusiasts of seafood. The restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere, making it well-suited for gatherings among family and friends. During a recent visit with friends, the culinary offerings, particularly the mouth-watering seafood, were thoroughly enjoyed. The establishment also provides a diverse selection of beverages, including beer, wine, spirits, and mocktails, complementing the dining experience. While the overall food quality was exceptional, a minor issue was noted with some oysters arriving with missing covers. However, this did not significantly detract from an otherwise highly positive experience. The delectable food and pleasant ambiance collectively contributed to a memorable visit.

We had a generally pleasant experience at Oysters & Grill. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which created a nice atmosphere. When we arrived, the waiter asked if we would like him to “offer” us a glass of Prosecco before ordering. Based on how it was phrased—and from past experiences at other restaurants—we assumed this was a complimentary welcome drink. So, it was quite surprising to see a charge of 130 DKK for the two glasses on the final bill. The wording made it sound like a hospitable gesture, not something that would be added to the check. A clearer approach would have been to simply ask, “Would you like to order a glass of Prosecco to start?” As for the food, everything we ordered was quite good. We had the padrón peber, moules frites (generous portion), grillet havbars (also well-sized), and the yellowtail. The yellowtail was especially tasty, although the portion was noticeably smaller than what we had seen in the photos. Complimentary bread slices were also brought to the table, which was appreciated. Another positive experience was the trust the staff showed when it came to redeeming our Cofoco points. I had called the restaurant beforehand and was told I could just provide my name and email to redeem points. So I didn’t bring my physical Cofoco card. Only upon arrival did I learn that the card was in fact needed. Thankfully, they kindly let me go home to get it without any issue, which I really appreciated. Overall, the experience was good—just slightly dampened by the misleading Prosecco situation and somewhat high prices. Still, the warm staff and enjoyable food made it a worthwhile visit.

We had a fantastic evening at Oysters & Grill! The atmosphere was vibrant, the service warm and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. The shrimp and langoustines were perfectly prepared – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Great wine selection, too. A true gem in Copenhagen – we’ll definitely be back!

An amazing place! Every dish we ordered was a perfect 10 out of 10. All the seafood was incredibly fresh, the portions were generous, and there was an excellent selection of wines and cocktails. Even the side dishes were outstanding, especially the grilled corn and the watermelon and feta salad. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back the next time I’m in Copenhagen.

Strong recommendation. Great seafood. Softshell crabs were great, shrimps as well. Small portions and on the expensive side, but ok, as an experience was good.

Just wow! Some of the best seafood I have ever had! The mussel soup + the scallops + the yellowtail = I was happily full! Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of my server but she was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations

Yelp
We came here with a dinner reservation while Distortion was happening outside. Words cannot express how happy we were to find a relaxing, quiet place to have a good meal after that! We had one of the tasting menus, which tbh we should have split one order! It was a wild amount of food. I was expecting each course to be one dish - turned out each course was more like four or five dishes! And not tastings - full servings! Standouts were definitely the oysters, the ceviche, and the veggies! Flavorful and refreshing. What a great find!

Yelp
We wanted seafood and found Oysters & Grill on Yelp. Took a chance & arrived on a Friday night around 6:30 without a reservation. They were sold out! There are two levels with an upstairs bar. Luckily we were able to sit at the bar. We started with a couple of their cocktails-Moscow Mule & Pink Paloma (Tequila & grapefruit juice)-both were very good! We weren't sure what to order so we decided on the seafood selection to start. Greenlandic Shrimp, Blue Mussels, Ceviche & a Raw Oyster. A great way to sample a variety of their selections. For main, we ordered the Moules Frites & Flat Iron Steak. They were busy & we had a bit of time (45 minutes) from finishing our starter to entrees. The Mussels & Shrimp were excellent! The steak was okay. I guess after all this is a seafood spot. Service was overall attentive and friendly. Amanda & Toby took care of us! It is in Nørreport although a bit off the beaten path. From Nørreport station it's about 10 minutes on the 5C bus. Reservations are recommended.

Yelp
Recent Euro trip to Copenhagen with my friends, Oysters & Grill was recommended to us for a nice seafood meal. It did not disappoint at all! The seafood was fresh and very delicious! We had 2 dozen oysters, sweet & fresh. We had the stone crab, tiger shrimp, lobster, and mussels, and quite possibly another kind of shrimp. Worth the money, not over priced at all. It sells by wt and market rate. The service was great and love the hood! Reminds us of good old Williamsburg, artsy and cool in NY. Take a taxi, much faster and more convenient! Only Tip: make a reservation and have the Hotel peeps help you confirm! We couldn't read the email in Danish and accidentally "canceled" our reservation. However luck was on our side, we had the bar seating, quite cute! Enjoy feasting!

Yelp
Oh what a delight! A must try if you're in Copenhagen and wanting to try the fruits of the Nordic sea. (There's a dish called 'fruits of the sea'- inside joke, haha I'm so funny). Firstly, a very interesting entry door. Kind of feels like you're about to walk into a public toilet but oh! There's a restaurant in there! For a Sunday night the place was quite busy but we were seated quickly. The tables were very close together so its quite a squeeze. Service was lovely, we were seated and orders taken promptly and the food was quick to come out. In addition to the fruits of the sea we also ordered a side of french fries. Everything was perfect. It was seasoned, cooked, and prepared perfectly. My absolute favorite was the cod ceviche- a must try! Also try the blue mussels and langoustine. It was not a completely filling meal so we ordered an additional 200gm of the blue mussels cooked in olive oil, garlic and parsley. Dessert was a beery cheesecake- good, but stock standard. Overall an amazing meal. I would happily eat this again and again. One thing to beware of- tax is not included in the price of the meal so I had a bit of a shock when an extra 25% was added to our bill. Still doesn't put me off wanting to go back but it would have been nice to know at the start.

Yelp
Really good place for dinner! we got the sea of fruits, with shrimps, oysters, veggie, soft shell crab and they're good to share. Scallop and the steak was okay (you can pass on those), fries are fine.

Yelp
Trying desperately to find just about something bad about this place but its just not happening. The waitressess are so sweet and funny and although our reservation was indoors, they managed to get us a table outdoors on their sparse outdoor seating area. We had loads of seafood, seafood platter for two, extra crayfishes, extra blue mussels, oysters, fried soft shelled crabs, scallops, the dorade (fish) and a rare entrecote. The seafood was amazing, and especially the oysters. Without any doubt the best oysters I ever had. They served them with lemon and a vinegarsauce with red leek. Oh so good..I ordered extra!! The meat was, as we ordered, rare and perfectly cooked. The fish plate was also amazing. We had such a pleasant dinner at Oysters and Grill. In the shade of this perfection was the waitresses mixup of our dishes so we had to remind them a few times but this was not enough to lower my rating of Oysters and Grill. I'm looking forward to my next visit here!

Yelp
One of Copenhagen's two trendy fish-dedicated eateries (the other being Fiskebaren), Oysters & Grill has the popularity of Cofoco behind it, and does not disappoint. We ordered a variety of the daily fish offerings at 100g, both fried and grilled, and were satisfied with all of it, though the fried scallops were probably a little TOO deep fried for my taste (was really heavy and greasy - maybe would be better with a lighter beer batter or something). Would KILL for some crab cakes on this menu - maybe some day... Interestingly, the entrecôte, which is FAR from seafood, is the most raved about item on the menu (in fairness, it was delicious). The ambiance overall is really cozy - great place for a date, girls night, etc - lots of depth in the interior and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Thumbs up for sure.

Yelp
This place had the best seafood that I have ever had. If you visit Copenhagen it is a must! We were only in town a few days and our hotel bartender suggested as an option for good seafood that would not cost an arm and a leg. It did not disappoint. We had "havets forretter. udvalg af fisk og skaldyr" which was an assortment of seafood served per number eating the dish. All 3 of us ordered the same and the portions and flavor was amazing. We had razor clams, prawns fried and regular, civiche, clams and more and all of it was tasty! It was seasoned perfectly and everything was very fresh. By seafood standards this place was affordable but not cheap. It was worth every danish krone!

Yelp
I'm kind of on the fence with how I feel about this place. It's trendy and cool and I like the vibe of the restaurant with their stacked-wood walls and mismatched tablecloths. The service was efficient and nice. The food was good, but the Havets Frugter selection was a bit too heavy on the mussels. I love mussels, but if you're going to market a seafood platter, it needs to be more equitably distributed. The small dish of root veggies that came on the side was delicious. We also had a pitcher of sangria to share. Perfectly decent, and ok price. But probably one of the smallest pitchers I've ever seen. I would be interested to try their other menu items. Just wasn't too impressed with the havets frugter selection.

Yelp
I just love eating here - seafood and steak. What is not to like? It is a small place with good waiters, and the kitchen does know its stuff. Starters are seafood. Mostly different kinds of mussels. You can also get oysters ;-) Mains are steaks or fish with fries. They have small but good selection of wine.

Yelp
Affordable and delicious seafood with good service? Sign me the heck up! I'd made a reservation for three but SOMEBODY had to go and get sick at the last minute so I sheepishly notified the front of house when I arrived. It was no problem that it would just be a table for two and he didn't make me feel bad about it at all. I was feeling celebratory so I started with a glass of Rene Barbier Cava, which was not overly sweet and fit the bill for seafood. The menu does not waste time with fillers and gets straight to the point with either seafood or (oddly) meat. If you bring your vegetarian friends here, they'll sadly be stuck with fries and salad. We were in the mood for sharing plates so we got about 200g each of scallops, grilled langoustine, deep-fried soft shell crabs, green ceviche with cod, crevette (French style shrimp), and crudité. The food came out suspiciously quickly! Although I guess only three dishes were served hot. The table was just about overflowing with plates; a welcome sight! Everything was stellar except the ceviche, which was just kind of "meh." Maybe it could have used some vinegar or more lemon to wake it up. And although the crevette was delicious, they were not cleaned so I had to scrape out the poop chute. I don't know if that is the normal way to prepare them but I guess it is good to be aware. This was my first time eating langoustine and I thoroughly enjoyed them! I scooped out the brains with the bread and dipped it in the green oil. The boys were happy to bring us more bread as well. But the star of the show for me was definitely the soft shell crab; it could have been battered a little less and fried a little more but ohhhhh SO GOOD. The crudité was a nice refresher from the seafood but some of the pods had only tiny peas in them, which was sort of lame.. Feel the pods or at least put more on the plate so we don't have to fish (haha) for peas. With our meal we enjoyed a pitcher (250 dkk) of Horse Neck with bourbon, which was a good value since it already costs 85 dkk per glass and we got a good 4 glasses out of it. There was a little too much ice in it for my liking, it would have been better if it was in bigger pieces rather than crushed bits. I didn't get to try their espresso martini but I would love to next time, and there will definitely be a next time! We also got a bottle of tap water at no charge; restaurants that don't charge for water or bread get a huge plus in my book. The boys were quick to see when we needed something and easy to flag down. They were also polite but willing to joke around a bit, which was so nice. The atmosphere is casual even though you can feel fancy eating well-prepared seafood. Oh and of course they also provide you with a moist towel after you've destroyed a table full of sea creatures.

Yelp
Numm... we had the fruit of the sea and the seafood was all phenomenal, especially the calamari. Cocktails were good too. My only complaint was that the restaurant was extremely hot to sit in, like to the point I joked about taking all my clothes off, but seriously, I was tempted. It was sooo hot.

Yelp
Second visit, less impressed. Not that the place has lost a lot in ambiance or service. Just that the food was very, very similar in choice, except the main appetizers, the large platter of shellfish, was this reduced to moules frites and deep-fried oysters, where last time, there was more of a selection. All in all, the place is still good, setting still nice and cozy (though the acoustics are terrible), and the food is quite good.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant! The menu was very very interesting and services are excellent. Fresh seafood selections and very cozy place. We tried many items from their menu, oyster is just perfect and loved their prawn. You need to make reservation for dinner, busy crowded place.

Yelp
Being a fan of Cofocos chain of restaurants and sea food in general I had quite high expectations coming to this restaurant. It is a very cozy place with dim lighting and checkered table cloths. You instantly notice that the sound level is high though which makes it hard to have a conversation in here. To be honest the menu feels a bit confusing at first, offering a list with prices per 100g, so you almost have to ask for some assistance as to "what is a good amount to order". They help you out with your selection and basically you can choose your preference, if you like prawns more than mussels for example, they will try and focus on that. I don't mind doing this and the waitress was friendly, but it still manages to make the process a bit more inconvenient and confusing (give me my seafood! ;)). There is a plate where the chef combines many different types of mussels, prawns etc, but it seems to contain quite some deep fried items, so we opted out. We received a plate of mixed seafood and a side dish of fries. The dish was a bit on the small side for two people but what bothered us the most I think was that it didn't taste all that much, the fries where also bland and perhaps not something we would've otherwise preferred with this type of food. Yes, sea food is sea food and perhaps it's just a matter of preference, but we would've loved a dash of garlic or maybe a choice of adding some chilli and less focus on the deep fried. So the 2/5 Yelp rating "Meh. I've experienced better." is unfortunately what we felt walking out of there.

Yelp
I had a great time in this restaurant. It is simply lovely: the atmosphere is great and staff mega nice. Had fried stuff and some shellls. The food itself was delicious and cocked great! Some wine and a delicious dessert! not expensive yet not cheap, completely filled with a glass of wine and dessert was around 300 dkk. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Absolutely loved it. My girlfriend and I were looking for some great cuisine without blowing out our wallets. Copenhagen is notoriously expensive for US tourists as the dollar does not get much. We ordered the Fruit of the Sea tasting for two which featured various kinds of seafood from fried soft crab, to wild prawn, and many more items. Being from the Boston area we came into the restaurant with high seafood standards and walked out happy and satisfied. This place is a must stop for people trying to stay out of the $$$ or higher range but who want some delicious seafood.

Yelp
This is a really great place - and the concept works for those grouped divided by sea and land or those just wanting surf and turf. the room and atmosphere is sort of cool and dark, slightly unexpected and more run-down (in the deliberate way) than I would have expected from a steak and seafood place - but it works for Nørrebro. there is a bit loud, but again not a big problem. I had the steak which was great. not the best I have had - and it wasnt butter to the knife. but good taste and plenty. there was no source only butter melting on the top. and call me old fashioned - but I want Bearnaise when i have a steak. I dont go out for this sort of thing often enough to want to experiment on this key component. I cant speak to the shellfish, but the consumers looked pleased and the plates full

Yelp
All I can say is AMAZING! Went Thursday night and it was pretty busy, but we were seated immediately with no reservation. I am a huge seafood lover and have traveled all over the world trying different seafood restaurants. My sister and I shared the large life of the sea I think it was called. I was surprised that they elegantly separated the meal by cold plates and warm plates. The cold plates consisted of oysters (best I have EVER had!), ceviche (pretty darn good), and prawns (the aioli dipping sauce was to die for). They also brought out a plate of veggies with sour cream, something I am not accustomed to in the USA, but was pleasantly surprised just how good sour cream is with veggies! Then came the hot plates. Cooked prawns (good, but nothing special), fried prawns (amazing with the chipotle mayo), French fries, and blue mussels (nothing special). Overall, amazing food and atmosphere. Great service. MUST try the oysters!

Yelp
Best meal I had in Denmark. I wish I could go back! It was just what I was looking for.

Yelp
Amazing is the word that describes our visit at oysters & grill yesterday. Laid back approach but excellent taste and service! We started with 2 oysters each, followed by deep fried tiger prawns and scallops. For main we had beef tournedos and the sirloin. All in all it was among the most tasting meals we ever have had! A job very well done by the team at oysters and grill! We will be back!

Yelp
Got two lobster dinners and the bozo waiter charged me for tap water. I don't know if that's how they roll in Denmark, but in 'merica the H20 is free.

Yelp
I love this place, I can go to it over and over and over again. Its very rustic and feels as if you are by the fishermens warf or something like that. But, the best part is if you love eating fish they have it and if your friends/companions don't they also, have steaks and others things. Loved the tuna and the tartar. good stuff.

Lena C.

Yelp
The seafood was fresh. But the service was a Desaster. We waited very very long time. It seemed they forgot our order. But that was not the worst. The guest on the next table came half hour later and got their food much earlier. Our starter came as they had finished their starter.... :-) excellent service. The first time to be here but also the last time. Done!
google avatar

Stig S.

Yelp
Nice authentic stthe feels like fisherman's worf of San Fran. Their scallops and tuna was wonderful not so much for the rib eye. If you are fish lover you will love it

Yelp
This was my favorite meal during my 3 days in Copenhagen. Two local friends took me here and I loved it. Great fun vibe, good service and the food is divine. I loved every seafood item we ordered, and we ordered a lot! Fresh as well as fried oysters, softshell crab, scallops, and most amazingly, the langostines. The langostines were so flavorful and yummy. Happy happy camper. Great experience all around.
google avatar

Carter P.

Yelp
Not impressed. Rude waitress. Undercooked scallops. Brought water in a glass carafe and then charged for it. Vegetable crudité and prawns were nothing special. Skip it.

Mel D.

Yelp
Our first time in Copenhagen! We were looking for some fresh seafood and this restaurant looked cozy and had great reviews, and it was great! Very fresh prawns, mussels, ceviche, shrimp, and more. A very cozy and happening atmosphere with ambiance created by subdued lighting, and a wall of wood pieces. The dessert was a rhubarb and strawberry ice cream with a Danish vanilla type of ice cream- just perfect to finish out the meal. The menu is small but each of of the items hold their own. It's quite busy, so a reservation is a good idea. Service is on the slower side for that reason, but really friendly staff. Also had outdoor seating! Nice drinks too!t
google avatar

Aaron N.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal enough - best to order things one by one by the 100g off the menu. Got home from our visit to find out $150 bill charged at $220.... sketch.

Christiane P.

Yelp
Mussels , lobster , crabmeat and filet were very tasty-we had an wonderful evening! See you again next year!
google avatar

Annai S.

Yelp
A very nice atmosphere and decor all in all a good restaurant the seafood is excellent and the steak is good. Definitely will recommend trying!

Kevin L.

Yelp
Pretty genuine Scandinavian seafood, but 100g is a petty amount! Quantity is small for the price tag for all dishes, in general.

J C W.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with our daughters. The restaurant has a very cozy feeling and was full! The staff was very friendly and explained the menu options. We had appetizers of grilled squid (excellent) and fried soft shell crab (delicious) although would have preferred it grilled or sautéed. We had mussels and fries for our main course. We lived in Belgium for a long time so we know this dish well, and the variation here was fantastic! Great evening and very fair prices!

Yelp
Greasy soft Shell crab. And The service was Way too long. Then the waiter told us that they forgot our order. Spots of soap on glasses and cutlery. Not a great experience.

Yelp
A very pleasant first seafood encounter in Copenhagen after wandering through the Asisstens Kierkegard on a sunny summer day. We snagged a small table with a short wait and no reservation; I think we got lucky. Once seated, the service was exceptional: sincere, friendly and helpful...just what food tourists crave abroad. We'd read the oysters were superb; they were. Even better were the razor clams: sautèed simply with parsley and olive oil. Dangerously delicious with an interesting texture---somewhere between a fried clam and an oyster mushroom. The calamari were corn-dog-awesome, batter-fried goodness. With a remoulade. A small order there is plenty. Tiger prawns were modest, but a safe bet; next time we'll be more daring with the blue mussels or cockle. We didn't order an entree, but were stuffed to the gills on the three starters (our server amplified portions a bit). We were set to pass on dessert, when he sold us on rødgrød med fløde, which is more fun than saying than fünfundfünfzig, and tastes a helluva lot better.
