Ozanam Hall of Queens Nursing Home

DO NOT SEND your loved ones here!!!!!!! My dad was treated here years ago and it was amazing. It has completely gone down hill and I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. My friend sat in diarrhea for hours because it was lunch time and everyone was to busy. She changed rooms and the nuns lost some of her clothes. My friend fell out of her bed, and so did her roommate. The doctor has the nurses diagnose the patients, and then he gets paid for writing a script when he never even sees the patients. My mom had multiple blood clots in her lungs for a full month before she got treatment. She was only sent to the hospital, because I said if he didn't send her I would take her out myself. My friend had a dislocated hip for 5 days and he refused to take an x-ray. If he would of just went to see her he would of know it was dislocated, but like I said he rarely actually sees the patients. He shows up at 8:00 or 9:00 at night when they are sleeping and diagnosis the patients by speaking to their family members or the nurses, and that's if he even shows up at all. The Social worker Christine was disrespectful and rude. She sent my friend home on a Friday and said someone would evaluate her on Saturday. No one ever showed. The only contact number was hers and she wasn't in on the weekend. This place should be sued for malpractice and mistreatment of the elderly. The only positive thing about this place is the p/t center. Their therapists are great but unfortunately your family members will not be safe here.

I was a patient from November 1- November 20/2025. My stay in room 204A was the most pleasant experience. Doctor A and Choudhury were very good., The nurses Sabrina, Kathy, Titi, Desi Jean, Esther , Kahmala, Majean,and everyone who worked during that time should be commended. The dedication of physical therapist Mary and, Choah, Occupational therapist Norma and Marie really made it possible for me to walk out of Ozanam Hall after 3 weeks post hip surgery. Thank you Chef for your amazing meals. Thank you Savi, my social workersister Lili, Margaret White.

My mother has been here for three and a half days, and from the moment we arrived, she has been treated like royalty. I am incredibly grateful that we chose this location based on a referral from her doctor at the hospital. The nurses are amazing—patient and caring in every aspect of their work. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a beautiful nun who escorted us to her room with a such a warm welcome. However, I must mention an incident that occurred today. When I arrived to visit my mom, I attempted to use one of the four elevators, one of which I can only assume is reserved for employees. I boarded the first elevator that arrived (rightfully so!) and to my surprise, I was approached by a nun who was quite hostile. She exclaimed, "Get out, get out! Take that elevator over there!" There was no "excuse me" or "please." I was spoken to as if I were a child being reprimanded for misbehavior. I was totally taken aback and promptly exited the elevator, choosing to use the other one. Out of respect for her position as a nun, I refrained from arguing or responding negatively. Nevertheless, I was astonished by her rudeness and demanding tone. Despite this unfortunate encounter, I will not allow it to overshadow the overall positive experience we have had at this facility. As I previously mentioned, this place has truly been a blessing.

My boyfriend had to go to the bathroom, I told three nurses and they just looked at each other and nobody took him to the bathroom. I told them three different times and they can care less. There was a female patient asking them the time they were five nurses standing right in front of her, and all five of them looked at her and did not give her the time after a while. She was so frustrating. She asked them six times for the time and they look at her and turned their heads.what was wrong with them? Why can’t they give her the time they looked at the patient like if she had three heads and never once gave her an answer I had to get up get my walker and try to walk to her so I can give her the time. They didn’t care that my boyfriend that had to go to the bathroom and they didn’t care that the lady was just asking for the time and after a while she was screaming asking what was wrong with them why can’t they give her the time they standing around at the desk talking to each other and not doing absolutely nothing for anybody they don’t care about the patient I’m not saying all of them but the ones that were there yesterday did not care anything about the patient no consideration that somebody had to go to the bathroom and they kept on passing the buck. This is unacceptable professional procedure.

We are so grateful for the exceptional care my dad has been receiving at Ozanam Hall from day 1. The entire staff in general is wonderful from the moment you enter. The atmosphere is clean, peaceful and welcoming and the care is outstanding. A huge shout out to the 4th floor team. Kelvin, Zaildar and each and every nurse and CNA has been so kind, understanding and caring. We adore Sister Maureen who brings warmth during pet therapy with bunny Jack as well as the facility cats, birds, fish tank and dog. My dad and is treated with respect and dignity and we are beyond thankful. Social Worker Victoria is always there for us, providing up to date information as well as kind words and support. We wish he could be home but are grateful that he’s in a facility where he feels like he’s home. It’s a decision nobody could prepare for, however it helps knowing he is being cared for with love.

Ozanam Hall is the third rehab facility my mother has been to in the last 10 years and it is the best one. She is now a permanent resident at Ozanam Hall since May and I would only want her here. The staff is excellent with her. The aides take great care of her, especially regarding the bathroom. My mother is busier now than when she was at home. There are activities every day, and they have a mass that the nuns take her to! I love the nuns! They are so compassionate with the patients. The nuns have a little dog, a rabbit, three cats, and two mourning doves at the facility. The place is very clean. They have a great big garden to sit in when the weather is nice. The location, parking, and food are good. I am very thankful for Ozanam Hall.

I am writing to praise 3 Ozanam Hall employees who do an exceptional job. First I want to praise social worker Victoria. She is kind and caring and always available. She goes out of her way to help my husband who is a resident and always stops to check on him. I notice her helping everybody and no matter how busy she gets she always makes time to assist the residents. She has great follow up and is very caring. Next i want to commend Chang Taek Jeong. He is caring, patient and hard working. When he is working with my husband on the second floor my mind is at ease and I know my husband is receiving excellent care. He is very thoughtful and my husband looks for him to take care of him because of his kindness and patience. I hope to always see Mr Jeong on the second floor taking care of my husband. Third is nurse Esther Allen. Her postivity and smiling face make the second floor feel like a warm place. She always checks on my husband and takes time to speak to him everytime she works. She is very timely with giving out medications and is just a genuinely a nice person. Mr Jeong, Esther and Victoria help make Ozanam Hall great.

Sooo much lack of communication between the staff members and they absolutely cannot handle their work. First off I was told that my mother’s aid services have been all sorted at the time of discharge. She is a last stage cancer patient and I work full time. Due to lack of communication and POSSIBLY the staff being overwhelmed I am now home with my mother whom can barely get off the toilet seat by herself and no home health aid because the proper paperwork was not done nor provided to the home health aid agency. What in the world?!!! I’ve left multiple messages and absolutely nobody has called back! Secondly I requested 3 times in a matter of 1 week to do my mother’s laundry as the clothes had been labeled to get washed in the facility itself as it was getting difficult for me to take home clothes, wash them, and bring them back everyday. ALL nurses agreed to handle it and get it done. The nurse that was taking care of my mom lied about not being requested to put my moms clothes out for laundry. Tuesday night she told me at the front desk I’ll get it done! WTH ?! So my mother, the day of discharge was sitting there waiting to go home in a night suit! with no pants on! and absolutely all of her clothes were in the dirty laundry bin. Some of the nurses are so damn mean! They all play the blame game and absolutely do not want to be held accountable for what they are doing wrong and their responsibilities 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ absolutely a mess in there !!! Do not leave your loved ones there. It’s a mess!
