Ozark National was a beautiful course and a great stop on our trip, but I’d give it 4 stars instead of 5. The layout is fantastic, with dramatic elevation changes, sweeping views of the Ozarks, and a really fun variety of holes that kept our group of 16 entertained. It’s a challenging but fair track, and the design makes for an exciting round. That said, the course conditions were a little under kept—likely due to all the recent rain—which took away just a bit from the overall experience compared to the other courses we played. Even so, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the setting itself is stunning. With a little more attention to conditioning, Ozark National could easily match the other top-tier courses in the area.

Ozarks national is a beautiful but extremely challenging course. I played it with a group of friends and we’re all average golfers from eight handicap to 20. My advice play at FORWARD and play 6000 yards or less. I know you wanna bang the drives, but it’s hard to see where they’re going on this track.Everything about it is exceptional, but it’s difficult.

Beautiful, challenging course in Branson, Missouri. Always seems to be windy on top of these peaks, but pay attention to pheasant & deer that like to cross your path somewhere on the course.

Beautiful course. We loved every hole. Challenging but very fun. They do KILL you on drink prices. You’re already paying a hefty price for golf but just crazy prices for drinks.

We played Payne’s Valley, Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge and Top of The Rock. Out of the 3 18 hole courses everybody has a different ranking of Ozarks. Some thought it was the best, others the worst but mainly just depended on who played what course well. I would say Ozarks was the most challenging of the 3. The fairways and greens are large but if you miss the fairway you are going to have a hard time finding your ball. We played 10 days after aeration and you couldn’t tell at all. The course was in incredible shape. The staff is amazing. The marshals have water and wet towels every time you see them which was great on a hot day. My only complaint would be the pro shop. No restaurant or breakfast food. You have to go the whole way over to Payne’s valley. There’s food out on the course but just hot dogs and snacks (all complimentary by the way). One toilet in the club house as well which was odd. But all in all amazing course, staff and views.

Fantastic course. Extremely challenging with tons of blind teeshots. The views can't be beat. I can't wait to go back and play paynes valley and Buffalo ridge. You get free range balls. Also free lunch and snacks but only at the clubhouse after the 9th hole. 10/10 would recommend.

BIG Cedar Golf is heaven on earth. Every golfers dreams come true at this property. I got there early to take pictures and soak it all in. From the main pro shop you can see all the courses to get some great pictures. Range balls and practice area is available before the round if needed. Starter was late so I took off and he caught up with me finishing hole 1. The course was beautiful. The course was in perfect shape. The views are to die for. 10/10 would golf here in a heartbeat. I am actually coming back to play Payne's Valley upon opening. My only frustration with the round came with the grounds crew. Holes 2-5 I had to wait for the gentleman to mow the greens. Then, I battle a young man blowing off the greens with a blower. It almost felt like they were working along beside me as I were playing the round or racing to beat me to the next green/hole. There was 3 shots I remember distinctly were there was an employee standing directly between me and the hole. They would wave me on and not step out of the way. Basically resulting in my three worst shots of the day because I'm more worried about hitting the guys. The guys in the pro shop stated there would be maintenance on the course but 80 percent of my round had some sort of distraction that took away a little magic from the overall round. I wouldn't recommend a 7 am tee time unless you like gators, lawn equipment, and maintenance crew rolling through during every hole. Lack of food thanks to Rona. I would recommend playing any of Big Cedar courses. I may be ranting a little to much about maintenance but it was $150 round so IDK. A beautiful course needs upkeep, I'll get over it. Golf here asap.

Google
Beautiful golf course and tough layout. Played on a sunny day but with 25+ mph winds this made the course laughably hard. Also the greens had been punched a few weeks before and they were still a bit sandy but it's all good. I'd love to play this again when the greens were fully recovered. Service and facilities were great. Course is an absolute gem and lots of people prefer it over Paynes valley. I'd highly recommend this track if you come to big cedar lodge.

Yelp
Ok, this is a really hard course, as others have said. Let's just say I lost A LOT of golf balls on this course . However, the people who work here are awesome; everyone from the people we interacted with when our clubs were loaded, to the starter, to the cart girls, were really welcoming, helpful and just overall glad we chose to play their course. The course itself is well maintained and the views are stunning! They have snacks when you've finished your first nine, which was fun, and for us much needed!! If you like a challenge on the golf course and you don't mind losing some golf balls, this is your place!!

Yelp
Wow. Ozarks National delivers some of the best views the Ozarks has to offer. The drive in, phenomenal. Every single hole, phenomenal. The drive out, phenomenal. The course is not for the weak, though. It is very challenging. Several fairways are wide and forgiving, but for the most part you have to battle to keep the ball in the fairway. The lies you'll get in the rough are very hit or miss. You could find your ball right away and have a decent lie. Or you could look for your ball for a few minutes, finally find it and pray you get out. Overall, a gorgeous course and can be a ton of fun if you let it. The clubhouse, part way houses, and halfway house are incredible. They're like mini Bass Pro Shops - extremely well built, attention to detail, and just straight up cool. Cool to look at, cool to walk in. At the halfway house there is complimentary snacks, Bison hotdogs, even Snickers ice cream bars. The putting green, driving range and short game greens are in amazing shape. The staff couldn't have been more hospitable. All of this sits perched up on top of a few mountains in the Ozarks with an tremendous view. You can see Branson, you can see past Branson. You could probably see Springfield if it was possible. I've played my fair amount of courses, but these courses that Big Cedar and Johnny Morris have to offer are nothing short of incredible. 20/10. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Hard is not the word. Hated every second of every hole. If you like courses that you never have an idea where to hit the ball over and over this place is for you. Not for average golfer. A root canal would be better. Well after 24 hours I realized that the course is hard and that I'm terrible. I was mad at myself and took it out on the course. Sorry

Yelp
Beautiful course with amazing views. Plays long even from the combo tees. Greens in great shape. Roll medium fast and fair. Facilities immaculate. Staff very friendly. Free bison hot dogs at the turn. First class all the way. Now the negatives: way too many bunkers; unfair pin placements in the back of huge greens so your good pitches and chips roll off the back and you have short sided shots back on the green; and finally , the back nine is extremely long with one par 4 being 445 yards yet the back nine ends up as a par 35. Just change that hole to a par 5 and you have a par 72 course.

Yelp
The course, starter, and most workers were great. However, the cart girls were terrible. We got passed by a cart girl on hole 1 and had to move our carts out of the way she didn't even acknowledge us. We ended up passing her 2 more times on the front nine and she drove by without even stopping or looking at us, both times I tried to get her attention. The third time I had to yell at her to stop and she told me (on hole 8) "Haley will take care of you after the turn" we did not see her at all on the back nine or the rest of the day. Haley, who worked inside the hole 10 building was incredible. She was so nice, super helpful, and an overall great employee/person. Management should look into the overall work ethic of some of the cart girls.

Yelp
Stunned this course is rated so low here. It's a fantastic golf course. Like many Coore Crenshaw courses the fairways are very generous. Several of the green complexes are elevated at the top of a hilltop. Not only do they give the impression they are floating, there are beautiful vistas of the Ozark Mountains. It is by no means an easy golf course, but I found it to be a very fair test of golf. If you play the right tees you'll have a blast - which is what it's all about. They do have fore caddies available if you're concerned about you're ability to consistently ifnd your golf ball.

Yelp
Difficult and unfair layout e.g. drives in the middle of the fairway run off into the very tall rough, which causes players to spend too much time hunting for balls and as a result causing slow play. Our round was 5 hours. Plus because of the above, 10 minutes between tee times is too short, which compounds slow play. This course needs Marshalls all over to speed up play. I plan on returning to Big Cedar Resort, but because of the problems above, I will never play this course again unless changes are made.
