First time checking this place out. First, the coffee is delicious! I bought a Maple Expresso coffee. The location is nice and clean. Has it's own style. The staff was very nice and conversational (not sure if he was the owner or not). Big location, plenty of space to sit and hang out. Good lighting. I could see myself hanging out here and doing school work while sipping on one of their many drinks. I would definitely recommend this place.

Google
Favorite coffee in Sacramento. Great location with nice indoor and outdoor seating. When my wife convinces me to go to Pilates nearby, I have to grab an espresso here as my treat :)

Natasha Maidment

Google
Ordered the vanilla latte and I had my own cup with ice. The server asked me if I wanted a new ice and just added more ice into my cup and instead, discarding the old ice. When I got my order, all I could taste is coffee creamer, and no coffee. I’m very disappointed with my order tasting just coffee creamer.

Google
Took my order. Told me I could sit down. Never called my name. My coffee sat on the counter awhile before I realized so it was cold. Scone was decent. Two cortados + a scone $16.

Google
This is a great place to get coffee beans. They have beans for everyone! They have a huge selection of roasts ranging from light roast to extra dark roast. I love that they have a couple of different options of light roast because that is my favorite roast, however most places only offer one type of light roast. I also like to pick up a bag of coffee beans for my father in law. He loves dark roasts so it is nice to be able to get both our roasts at the same place. When buying beans they throw in a free cup of coffee which is always a nice perk. For their flavors of drinks my wife and I like the strawberry matcha and the honey bear.

Google
Stopped by Pachamama for coffee before the farmer's market! I got a cold brew, and it was good. Lots of seating inside. Took awhile to make the other drinks. Definitely stop by Pachamama before or after the farmer's market! Parking can be tough during peak hours.

Tina Marie

Google
Awful service. I walked in and grabbed a bag of coffee and was told I’d have to stand in line to pay for it. First, the line was long (over10 people) and 2nd, I’m disabled! I didn’t order ANYTHING. Just a bag of already bagged coffee! Ridiculous. Sorry, son, mama doesn’t have patience for stupid.

Google
Visited this location several times and have consistently enjoyed my drinks and the atmosphere. The baristas are kind and helpful. I do wish there was a couch or more softer searing but whatever the coffee is great. Even the latte was excellent, not too milky. I usually get a cappuccino, but the chai and mocha are also great. Would recommend to study here, usually quiet here in the evening and they close at 7.

Yelp
FINALLY a Coffee shop that doesn't fill my cup with 75% ice!! (Or maybe that was just my barista) Wanted to try a new coffee shop and landed at Pachamama. As a big cold brew enthusiast I was very inclined to try the cold brew and, "surprised," was one of many words to describe my experience here. I was first asked if I wanted a regular or larger size which was kind of the first time I've been asked that at a coffee shop, I don't think the other shops I've been to had any other sizes for cold brew rather than a standard size. The price was pretty standard for any-other coffee shop costing almost $6 before tip. The cold brew flavor was bold, but not bitter and very very smooth which I liked very much. I personally added some Stevia which made it smoother. I really like the compostable cups they use, they have a neat design. The amount of ice my barista put was really the icing on the cake for me and made my cup of coffee so much more enjoyable.

Yelp
Love coming here after Midtown Farmers Market. This coffee shop is dog friendly and has seasonal lattes and witty quotes on their boards. There is also work space to be rented here, good for studies or work from home. This pachamama is a whole vibe totally different than the ones around town. I order something diff here every time and nothing can go wrong! Last thing I got was matcha and my gf got the dulce de leche latte. Bookmark this place for your next coffee run after some midtown farmers market fun.

Yelp
This place had so many positive reviews on Google and it said to be a great option in downtown Sacramento. I was looking forward to supporting this coffee shop, especially because I love local however, the cappuccino was made with two shots when my mom can only have it with one so I asked the barista to make another cappuccino with one shot and she asked me to pay for another one while I was happy to do that. I informed her that my mom could not even drink the double shot due to health issues. She wanted to take the cup back and still make me pay for another drink. I ordered one of the specialty lattes with House made syrup, but it was not sweet . Beautiful open window concept and a nice place to sit however, I did not have experience

Yelp
I've been here twice and it's so so amazing!! "Bomb" as my friend said who was visiting from out of town. I love their matcha and I am a bit of matcha snob it's literally perfect. My mom and her friend enjoyed their lattes (maple and honey bear) as well. The atmosphere is so cute and the staff is very nice. Highly recommend, my favorite matcha place in sac:)

Yelp
Came by to purchase some beans as gifts. (Their in store selection is more limited than their online selection.) On a late, rainy Saturday morning, with the farmers' market going on across the street, it was a bit difficult to locate street parking. They have a nice seating area inside, but it was completely full. The business was decorated for Christmas. Person working the cashier provided friendly service, the other employees not so much. The person announcing the drinks as they come out could work on enunciation and volume. I ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk. (The drink was complimentary with the purchase of the beans). Coffee art was pretty sloppy, but the drink was good. Love their business model of sustainability and supporting small farmers.

James S.

Yelp
I have never tasted a smoother cup of coffee. If you like it smooth, Pachamama is your place. The coffee is perfectly roasted and rich and so balanced as to have no real peaks and valleys, highs and lows, no acid or alkaline. I prefer coffees with some character that pokes out here and there, but if you like rich brown smooth silk, this is for you. Seating outside is nice if you can snag it. The young ladies who have served me here have been great, if a bit stiffly-courteous. They are professional, and very polite, and pretty busy.
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
My favorite pachamama location hands down. I love all of them but this one is definitely the coziest! I love the vibes in here in the morning. The staff is very kind and helpful. Always super happy with my coffees and teas alwhen i stop by! Hopefully there isn't matcha shortage on my next stop in
google avatar

Stacy G.

Yelp
This is a coffeeshop with a clear focus here on the drinks! It has a worldly, hipster vibe, perfect for liberal folks who love sustainability and directly supporting coffee farmers and don't mind paying more for that feeling. Lots of varieties of beans you can purchase. The spring special of iced pandan matcha was delicious!
google avatar

Africa G.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to be in the area and I've been wanting to visit this Pachamama location. I was able to find free street parking pretty close to the location. I got my summer-go-to, the iced blueberry matcha. It's the best blend of blueberry and matcha flavor. I got my matcha to-go but I was able to look around and admire the place. It's very cozy, I could see it being a spot that I'll love in the fall and winter. Also, the staff are SUPER nice, and had my matcha ready within a couple minutes. Great experience, as always with Pachamama!
google avatar

Ciera S.

Yelp
I love this business because they highlight the farmers who they source their beans from. Staff is friendly and this location is spacious. I really enjoy the pandan matcha and honey bear latte. They have a good mocha as well.
google avatar

Desirée K. H.

Yelp
Blueberry matcha latte is where it's at! I hope this becomes an item you can order all year long. A cozy gem for coffee lovers. The rich aroma greets you the moment you walk in, and the welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax or work. Their menu features a variety of expertly crafted brews, from smooth espressos to flavorful lattes, all made with care. Paired with their delicious pastries, this coffee shop is a local favorite for anyone seeking quality coffee in a laid-back setting. Parking can be a little troublesome as the lot is small. Otherwise, street parking is the next option.

Yelp
Great service! Got a iced vanilla latte. It was good! I want to go back and try a different latte

Yelp
I had only been to Pachamama's location in Davis before going to the Midtown location for the first time this past Saturday. I really should have been going more often as I've lived in Midtown for the 5.5 years! And I love locally run coffee shops (especially the ones that are walking distance from me)! Situated on 20th and J St, Pachamama is extremely warm and welcoming! I love brick-designed buildings, and the outside just screams "Midtown Sacramento." This location is situated more on the "20th St" side than the "J St" side which is nice, evading some of the havoc that J St brings. Inside the staff are incredibly friendly and the menu is simple and large, which makes it easy to order. I got the lavender cold brew and absolutely loved it! It was very refreshing and you could tell a lot of thought went into crafting this menu item. The coffee was light and vibrant tasting which I greatly enjoyed! Inside you will see signs and posters advertising how Pachamama prides itself on getting their coffee beans in an ethical manner. They even won a sustainability award in 2021. I'm a huge fan of all this, your wallet is a form of "democracy" and I try my best to support ethical businesses that treat their workers well and carry light carbon footprints. The only reason I am dinging a star from Pachamama is they are a hair expensive. My regular sized coffee was over $7. But I still want to go back and highly recommend Pachamama!
google avatar

Anissa R.

Yelp
I've been a big fan of Pachamama since I tried them at their Davis location a couple of years ago! This midtown spot really was a great addition to the neighborhood. I love that from the outside, it looks small but is really spacious on the inside. Their overall set up (with a couple of tables out front) is quite inviting. Pachamama's coffee is great and comforting. I definitely recommend trying their seasonal menu. I opted for the "honey bear latte" with oat milk and I could taste the honey goodness! They're a little pricey ($7+ for the regular) so it'll be an occasional treat for us.
google avatar

Juhi J.

Yelp
Our absolutely favorite coffee shop and roaster! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable with great recommendations! All their locations are cozy and quaint. Delicious drinks, always look forward to the rose cardamom latte! Sustainable goals and great to support their cause.

Yelp
Went to Patchamama for the first time, and was wonderfully greeted by the beautiful coziness of it. I loved the space, and the baristas were very kind! I was intrigued by their cold brew options, but had a classic Maple Almondmilk Latte. I'm not sure if it was because of the heat that melted the ice so fast but it was a bit watered down to me. I'd like to come back and give it another try though!
google avatar

Ginger D.

Yelp
Great coffee. Great staff. Adorable location in East Sac. Dog friendly. (They have dog biscuit) I usually get the iced vanilla latte. It's so good! Can't wait to see what's on the summer menu!
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
Walked in on a Saturday morning to get some 3rd wave coffee while in mid town. I would just like to say that I love the aesthetic of this cafe, it's very hipster but elegant! The baristas were very nice taking my order and the drinks that we had were smooth and not too hot, which makes it easier to drink right away! Definitely a nice spot for coffee!
google avatar

Rups B.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee. Smooth roast, interesting flavors. Love the atmosphere here, super calm. I love that they use organic whole milk. Quick service. Would recommend, seasonal coffees are always creative flavor combinations.

Yelp
this place was amazing i'm so sad i don't live closer. honey bear cold brew was probably one of my fav drinks ive ever gotten, perfectly balanced-- yet you are still able to taste the notes of the syrup without it being too sweet/overpowering. cold brew was so smooth and delish. also got a coconut matcha because it intrigued me lol but i ended up enjoying it more than i thought i would. they hand sift and whisk each matcha upon ordering with its own cute little station which is honestly hard to find in coffee shops as it's easy to cut corners when it comes to the craft. such a cute spot with creative specials, evident care and attention to the many details behind the art of coffee making! also the 2 guys working when i came in at 2ish on 7/12 were so kind and patient, thanks guys :-)

Yelp
had a fantastic latter this morning! They made me the wrong order but I was totally fine with it. the barista insisted he'd make me another one instead & I said no don't worry about it it's totally fine as long as it's oatmilk! He felt so bad that he gave me a coupon for a coffee on the house for next time which was so kind of him! The coffee shop was so cozy & inviting & clean! I plan on coming back to do homework here at this location! I'll definitely be back! fantastic coffee shop!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by Pachamama for coffee before the farmer's market! I got a cold brew, and it was good. Lots of seating inside. Took awhile to make the other drinks. Definitely stop by Pachamama before or after the farmer's market! Parking can be tough during peak hours.

Yelp
Great coffee spot. This place is a veteran in ithe game of great coffee. Two locations located in Sacramento and Davis. Coffee spot is strong and super crisp. This place has its own signature taste and brew.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
I've been to this Pachamama location a few times before and always came during peak hours (farmers market days are crazy). Even when they're busy the staff is friendly and they get your order out pretty quickly. On my latest visit I had the chance to go earlier in the day in the middle of the week and it was such a great experience. There was no line, I found a nice place to sit inside and I didn't feel guilty chatting with the barista. I'll definitely keep this in my rotation for remote work locations! Pachamama is farmer owned and works hard to be sustainable as well. On top of this the drinks are delicious and the seasonal drinks are some of my favorites to enjoy throughout the year. Whether you're grabbing beans to make coffee at home or enjoying a cup from their shop this is a cute location to visit.
google avatar

Josiah H.

Yelp
The Midtown location is the 2nd one we've been too after going to the first location for us, only a month or two ago. And got in Pachamama Coffee in the first place off a recommendation from a good friend. About them loving their coffee made there, and their whole coffee beans to coffee at home. From the other location we've tried a couple of their roasts and have taken them up on their 3 bags, gets you a free coffee offer. So we've taken three bags of the Pachamama coffee to go, in their large container on several occasions. This particular time my girlfriend and I stopped in for a coffee, and to refill our coffee container before going to brunch. We both ended up getting Vanilla Latte's which were delicious!
google avatar

Mikayla M.

Yelp
I highly recommend the salted dulce de leche latte here (winter menu). I get it iced with whole milk. The service here is fast and friendly. There is plenty of indoor seating with a couple outdoor tables. I recommend sitting inside since there is a variety of tables and it's a good vibe inside.
google avatar

May L.

Yelp
Love this place. Great drinks and a frequent stop for me. Got a mocha mint special latte and a lavendar vanilla latte.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I've heard so many good things about Pachamama and I regret not trying it sooner! This location is super cute and the service was great. They explained each seasonal item and gave us their recommendation. I decided to try their winter seasonal matcha drink and it was really tasty! Not too sweet and the matcha flavor was perfect. I love how they displayed a fireplace video as it made the vibe warmer haha. I also love how this pachamama location is a 5 min walk to the Saturday farmers market!

Yelp
Don't go if you want to get work done with a good coffee. Food; 1.5/3 Stars - I had their Dulce de Leche Latte, it was anything but great. The coffee left some more bitter notes than it should have been. The sweetness level was lacking due to that bitter level mentioned before. Ambiance; .5/1 Stars - Its cute yes, but thats about it. Seating is very much weird and lacking with the center only having 4 chairs. The wifi will not work. I was told by the other cafe goers that they only got the wifi to work after attempting to log in for 30 minutes and that it apparently works for them at the top of every half hour. Service; .5/1 Stars - Service was decent, not too helpful in anything besides taking my order and they made a mistake with the first coffee. Don't want to go again, the chairs hurt to sit on too.
google avatar

Irene C.

Yelp
A Sacramento staple!!!! Went to their downtown Sac location after hearing so many good things. Service is extremely friendly, the coffee is a little bit more on the expensive side and my Matcha latte was about seven dollars. However, the taste was impeccable! I had never tasted one exactly like it and it was the perfect level of sweetness with a unique flair. There was plenty of seating and bright natural light. The Wi-Fi was also great lol for all my worker bees out there
google avatar

Linda D.

Yelp
Always a pleasure coming to Pachamama! The baristas are all so nice and knowledgeable. What I love about Pachamama Coffee is that oat milk is standard! It's nice to not feel "punished" for opting for a plant based when some of us are dairy free or lactose intolerant. While they do have their usual menu, they also have the seasonal menu. Today, my order was from their fall menu and it was the Dulce de Leche. Decently sweet and creamy. I got mine "for here" and if you stay, your coffee is served in a ceramic cup. There are also beans to purchase and if you do, your drink is free. I've purchased beans previously and enjoyed making the cold brew at home with the cold brew beans. If you're unsure on what to get and make at home, just ask! They also have other merch and gift cards. The cafe is very spacious with plenty of seats and tables. There are also outlets to work/study. Parking is easy to find and I usually never have trouble finding parking. They also have a few tables in front of the cafe if you'd like to sit, meet friends, or bring your dog.
google avatar

Bob N.

Yelp
We had a pen club meeting there and the staff (one person) was wonderful. The coffee was slightly too bitter for my taste (I might be an espresso snob), but overall the place was comfortable to hold a smaller gathering.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Cute place. $7 for a small drink seemed alittle high. The chocolate muffin was delicious.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
I came here last week. The ambiance in here is incredible. I love the blue color scheme and the exposed brick. I also love the projector screen showing fall foliage and other nature scenes. It adds a cozy vibe to the shop. There is plenty of seating to get studying or work done. I ordered the peach matcha with oat milk and a banana walnut bread. I wasn't in love with the matcha - it was not sweet or creamy enough, but I appreciate the different flavor offerings. I think if I stuck to a regular matcha latte, I would have liked it more. I would give this coffee shop another chance because the ambiance inside was pleasant and the employees were kind.
google avatar

Michele T.

Yelp
In need of a caffeine fix, and decided to check this place out. Fall specials available and they all sounded good. Asked the barista for recommendations. Very friendly and she took her time describing the drinks. Decided to go with the Dulce de Leche breve latte- no extra charge for the different types of milk. Can I just say YUM?!? Tasted like a toasted marshmallow - creamy too. So good. Friend went with the Criolla Cacao Mocha and it definitely had that spicy kick. Can't wait to return and introduce this coffee spot to the hubs.
google avatar

Timothy I.

Yelp
Pachamama is the best quality coffee, the most ethical business model, and fair prices. The beans here are the absolute best quality and best variety around. You can get any range of roasts, from lightest light to darkest dark, with lots of blends and specializations. They also have a range of roasts for their decaf, which is pretty rare. On top of that, the beans cost about the same as Temple or Blue Bottle, but Pachamama actually pays their US-based staff AND their international growers what they are worth. In fact, Pachamama growers are all co-operative co-owners of the business. It's nice to have a place with good businesses practices, a great ambience in the cafe itself, and high quality product.
google avatar

Nobu B.

Yelp
This is a great coffee shop. The service is friendly and prompt. Some coffee shops have baristas that are low key snooty. But the person that helped me was super chill, down to earth friendly. Such a refreshing way to start the day. I bought a bag of beans bc I prefer to brew coffee at home, I was surprised to see that ordering a bag of beans here also comes with a complimentary drink. It's a great way to try their drinks. Based on the bag, they are farmer owned, organic and won sustainability awards which sounds awesome. I liked the atmosphere so much, I decided to sit down for a bit to enjoy my coffee. This will be my new place to get roasted beans.
google avatar

Blanche M.

Yelp
Such a cute place, and a great place to stop by prior to going to the midtown farmers market. Dog friendly! Which was so nice to see doggies enjoying themselves inside. I ordered the horchata cold brew and the strawberry matcha. Preferably I thought it would've been "more" in flavor. The horchata to me just felt like it was a big spurt of cinnamon and there didn't seem much or any strawberry to my strawberry matcha. Probably I need need to stick to their usuals. All in all, the place is cute and trendy. A good place to bring your dogs, and a great pit stop before roaming the city.
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
Love the seasonal menu choices. Staff is friendly welcoming. Shop is clean and spacious with lots of seating. Great location in the heart of midtown.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
My original review still stands. Best coffee, vibe and service, in the game. Consistently delivers the smoothest, most satisfying cup of coffee. The most homey, charming ambiance. And the best, most hospitable service. Team Pacha all day every day
google avatar

Boolay M.

Yelp
No consistency whatsoever. Quality has declined the last few month and They are always short staffed on the wekends. They also started charging service charge on top of the one I always leave. I live nearby and Pachamama is convenient, but I think i will be going back to Temple Coffee on S. Thier staff is experienced and their drink quality is consistent.
google avatar

Jose T.

Yelp
Wow this place is different. It's an organic coffee house I would dare you to come hear and check it out if your tired of Sturbacks. I ordered the Gingerbread brulee with oat milk had a sweet tooth at the time plus a small medium roast drip. Both were amazing the shop itself was very mellow and service was ok wasn't blown away, but there coffee makes up for it. The shop was dimly lit with natural light coming in. Would have been 5 stars but can't give those out that easy.

Brandon S.

Yelp
I primarily drink black coffee. I love their medium and blond roasts, especially their blonde roasts. I've actually switched to ordering the whole beans to make them at work. I still go in on the weekends because I enjoy the coffee made on the spot for me to enjoy while I sit in their lounge area. I particularly like their wooden chairs. The staff are all quite nice and will make recommendations for anyone curious.

Francis B.

Yelp
Very good espresso. Knowledgeable barista's. Very - very busy so the constant variable (if you will) is fresh beans. Espresso shots were clean and vibrant. Espresso heads will enjoy this location tremendously.
google avatar

Shannon W.

Yelp
I used to love love love Pachamama. All of them! It's the only acceptable coffee I'd drink. All Coffee drinks were highest standard of quality including their drip, lattes, and pour overs. They had 100% consistency for me each time and I have been a loyal customer since they opened their flagship shop on 20th. I love they are fair trade and seem to have a real connection to their farmers. Customer service was always stellar as well. Staff were kind and courteous and professional. But over time, quality and customer service have gone down for me. Staff have been rude, especially taking tables at times away from outside spaces (which makes it difficult if not impossible for people with disabilities and immunocompromised to patron their shop). When I've asked for a table outside, I get a lot of attitude (rushed jerky movements, grimaces, lack of eye contact, general resistance) which has made me feel less inclined to even go in person. I care about the establishments I frequent so I reached out to their customer experience person. I wrote a thoughtful email. I received an AI generated email that was very long and didn't really respond directly to my concerns. I sent a follow up email very short asking them to please address changes in their quality (espresso machines not cleaned regularly which were causing grounds in the drinks). But never heard back. Sadly I'm back to making my own coffees and thinking of saving for an espresso machine to make my own lattes. I've had this lack of quality control problem happen in all three Sacramento locations. It only happened once at the Sac Co-op including the barista sticking his fingers in the grounds (instead of a clean spoon) for my coffee. When I had time or shops weren't busy, I have requested several times for baristas to please clean the espresso machine so I can have a drink that isn't gritty. The customer experience person says I can always request a new drink. But I feel at this point it's happened enough that management should address this problem. It shouldn't be the customer's responsibility to maintain quality control. I have walked away though with gritty coffee discovered after I've left, and just threw these out. I'm writing this review hoping the management or owner (who I hear really cares about his stores) will see this and respond. It's a bummer when you have a refined palate and finally find a place you love, and there's a change like this.

Yelp
10/10 location! Super clean and spacious. Angelica the barista made my Latte so good- I'm a happy gal. I would come back for sure.
google avatar

Charlotte S.

Yelp
I think they missed the mark on my visits but it seems like everyone else loves this place. We had two mochas and sat inside. I was excited to try this because I love the cups and the message behind the business. When our coffees came out, they had coffee all over the place. It looked like it was just thrown into the cup with their eyes closed. Small selection of pastries and the service just wasn't what it should have been. Bummer.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
My cousin really wanted to try Pachamama and we finally got the chance to try it out! I ordered an iced vanilla latte with whole milk and my cousin got an iced honey bear latte with the default of oat milk. The iced vanilla latte is definitely on the sweeter side, but it was actually really good. I was pleasantly surprised. If it was just a tad less sweet I'd say it's perfect! The honey bear latte was okay to my cousin. It tastes more like an iced coffee with cinnamon. It wasn't her favorite, but it wasn't horrible. It's really cool that oat milk isn't an additional costs. This is something I appreciate even though I'm a milk girl. It is their default in their drinks, so if you're not into it you can always ask for milk like I did. The service is alright, not the most friendliest customer service. I think there should be a better system of calling out the orders. They just call out the drink name which can get pretty confusing if multiple people order the same drink. Probably would be best to have a number or name system!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this shop for a long time now. My daughter just moved to the area so I decided to stop by. First impression, this is a nice place. People of all demographics sitting, drinking coffee and enjoying the semi-quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The young lady working the counter was very pleasant and welcoming. She guided me to pick a drink, and I did not feel like a bother by asking questions. I ordered a maple latte, which was made quickly. The drink itself was delicious! A hint of maple but the espresso in it was the main attraction. They obviously had it dialed in recently. On top of that oat milk is standard for their drinks, which is my favorite. In addition to that I wanted to buy some beans. They had a variety of freshly roasted beans, including two types of Ethiopian, which is generally my go to. I talked to the young lady and asked a few questions, told her how I brew at home, and she guided me to the Ethiopia Sidama natural processed light roast. The beans are whole but she offered to grind them for me if I needed. They were ten days off roast so I'll be able to brew with them soon if not right away. Overall, the best coffee experience I've had in Sacramento so far. I'll definitely be back.
