I come here several times a week. Good & Not Great: it’s more expensive than Whole Foods (or any market in Malibu besides Country Mart), the deli has really delicious prepared foods and pastries, they have a great variety of products to choose from throughout the store (high quality and hard to find stuff), the coffee and deli menu/ordering “flow” needs serious work bc it makes little sense from a customer standpoint. Menus are all over the place (literally and figuratively) and are confusing to order from but the food made to order is typically great and made with friendly service. Lastly, they offer almond, soy and rice milk as alternatives for coffee drinks but do not offer oat milk (even though they sell it in the store). I get that it’s a specific weird thing but if you’re an expensive specialized hippie market, pull together all of the options, maybe?
The Awful: The short blonde woman behind the deli counter is incredibly unfriendly, slow as hell and always repeats my order back to me incorrectly. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hoped she was having one bad day but it’s literally every day for her and makes my day worse for having talked to her. Everyone else is amazing.
