I was browsing on Google maps for Asian restaurants in the Cleveland area and was surprised to find this restaurant with both Japanese AND Malaysian cuisines. I was eager to try both cuisines because they're some of my favorites (I have Malaysian family), and I've never seen anything like this before. Like with any huge menu, I had trouble deciding what to order because I wanted to try everything. I mainly ordered Malaysian dishes this time, plus the East roll, since I could hopefully come back one day and try other things. The hamachi kama is recommended, but I didn't want to wait because it takes longer to make.
The mango chicken and rendang chicken came on flat plates that didn't make sense because the mango chicken was goopy and spilling over, and the rendang chicken was watery. These dishes are why I can't give 5 stars. I'm used to rendang being more "dry" like a thicker stew or curry. It seemed weird for the dish to come with raw lettuce and tomatoes, reminding me of Mexican restaurants that do the same (but it's for salad at Mexican restaurants). Since the rendang was so watery, there wasn't as strong of a flavor.
The serving sizes for the beef stir fried noodle and mee goreng were very generous and came on huge plates. They both had the right amount of flavors. The mee goreng was slightly spicy, but in a good way. The east roll was also huge, but it's on the pricier side anyway. It had all my favorite sushi roll elements - fried/tempura, eel, and sauces I'm guessing are spicy mayo and eel sauce. Make sure to let it cool down first, or be careful eating it right away because it was really hot throughout!
