Pacific hotel |We stayed 5 nights and had a beautiful 9th floor superior King view room. The hotel was super convenient and walking distance to everything you could want or need in the CBD. Out huge patio view looked at all of the waterways around. We could see boats going in and out of the harbor and the birds along the esplinade. Down stairs there was an average hotel breakfast offered at $25. It opened at 6:30 which was great when you have an early tour. There is also scooters for rent on an app right outside the door which is fun. Our room overlooked the pool which was serviced daily. The hotel provided all of the basic needs like shampoo, conditioner, shaving kit etc. our room was large and had a seating area and a coffee maker with cookies and refrigerator. If you’re a family they do offer adjoining rooms. We needed to do laundry and they have self serve every other floor for $12 AU. You could buy detergent from the front desk. Wi-Fi was fast enough to download movies, but did get a little spotty on my video call. Overall great hotel!

The location is very convenient, right in the lively Crains area — just a 5-minute walk to Esplanade Walk, Lagoon Pool Night Market, restaurants, and 10 minutes to the wharf. Our room faced Esplanade Walk, was big and spacious with plenty of sunlight, and had a locker. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. Breakfast wasn’t nice, and in-room amenities were limited, but with so many restaurants nearby, it wasn’t a problem.

This hotel was disappointing for the money paid. The BASICS aren't even there-the room phones don't work, the lifts don't always work and on my second night the wifi didn't even work. They have an espresso machine in the room but not the appropriate cups so all the coffee goes on the counter instead of the cup. They claim it can work but I couldn't get it to work properly so I'm not sure why they don't just have the correct sized cups for the machines. The curtains aren't the appropriate size to actually close across the entire window so it is very bright in the room. And finally the noise, on certain sides of the street is quite bothersome and can make it hard to sleep. There are things that are rusted almost like there was water damage as well. ||Then there were MAJOR things like the glass sliding door to the balcony came out of the track and almost fell off the building if I didn't catch it. Instead of thanking me for not losing a large glass door that surely would've injured people falling off the building they acted like it was my fault for opening the door. I had no way of knowing I shouldn't open the main sliding glass in my balcony room. Apparently this was a known problem that they tried to patch up previously but didn't put a sign on the door or anything. The manager quickly came up to find a temporary solution after I walked down (since the phones don't work) and supposedly maintenance found a more permanent solution to bolt it down but there was no notice placed on the door. While the location is nice with a waterfront view and the pool looked nice I would certainly not stay here again. Considering the cost was as much as actual nice hotels, I would recommend another hotel.

# Pacific Hotel Cairns: Central Location with Mixed Experiences The Pacific Hotel's best feature is its central location in Cairns - everything is easily reachable on foot, which is fantastic for visitors. I stayed in a Superior King Room with balcony (#609), which was clean but outdated. Being near the elevator meant hearing beeping sounds whenever someone entered our floor. The rear-facing balcony offered good views over Cairns but came with constant noise from a ventilation shaft. The bathroom features a basic bath/shower combo. In-room amenities were minimal - an empty fridge with just 2 milk pods and no complimentary water. The TV lacked modern connectivity - no Netflix and no screen mirroring capability from laptops. On the positive side, the hotel has a nice pool on the third floor with comfortable deck chairs, though the water was quite cool during my visit. Service had some hiccups - the concierge promised to call when our room was ready (arriving at 1pm) but never did. Returning at 2:30pm, we found it had been ready for some time. The room was also missing body wash. At over $200 per night for a Superior King Room with balcony, it feels slightly overpriced for what you get, but you're mainly paying for the convenient location. Consider it if you prioritize walkability and don't mind basic amenities.

Unless you get here early you will not get a car park. We had to drive around the streets and find one which was very hard plus we had to move the car before 8.30 the next morning. Very noisy with early morning street sweepers and empying bins, didn't sleep well at all. But the rooms were very clean and comfortable beds and pillows

Stayed here in 2018 and very little has changed so it is a little dated particularly the bathrooms. It is in a good location close to the ferries and restaurants. It is kept clean but is lacking in a number of areas. It has no bar or coffee facilities and the buffet breakfast is the poorest of the seven hotels we have stayed in so far this trip.

Nothing like the promotional images, need a revamp a long time ago. So outdated, nothing to show the importance of the customer and their experience. One lift out of three working and a line out the door to get to their rooms. Highly recommended do a real customer survey face to face as they leave and be genuine in want to action their thoughts. Opportunity to shine

We stayed in the lovely and spacious executive king room, but unfortunately had to move to a deluxe king room with a balcony on the second night due to the executive room being fully booked. We were somewhat disappointed as the deluxe room felt older and less well-maintained, a noticeable downgrade. However, we appreciated the convenient second-floor area with complimentary coffee, books, and games, and the hotel's location was ideal; close to restaurants and shops yet peaceful.

Yelp
Multiple tour groups stay here. There are lots of buses in front during the day and the clientele is international. PROs: There is an ice machine in the lobby and ice buckets. There are self service washers and dryers Convenient location: restaurants, shops (liquor store + pharmacy too) markets and the wharf are within walking distance. Rooms have a safe and mini fridge. The fridge is empty, not filled with overpriced hotel stuff already. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is decent. Great WiFi service in the room, reliable. CONs: The single beds width are cot-like. Room furniture is austere, most would also say it's cheap. The room size is adequate. The electric plugs probably won't be where you need them. Bring a drop cord. The TV is small. They figure you should be touring, I suppose. SUMMARY: This is not a resort or luxury type place. It's adequate for the 3 nights we stayed especially since our dynamite tour leader, Nellie, had us out and about. No worries.....

Yelp
First time visiting Cairns and Australia. Needed a hotel within walking distance of the dive shop that I would be using for a scuba liveaboard trip. Needed an overnight stay one day prior and one day after the trip. PADI Travel Network recommended the Pacific International. Wasn't ecstatic about the rate, but in a new town convenience was the overriding factor. A short ride from Cairns (about $25 AUD) I arrived at the International. Very nice and impressive! Check in was very prompt. The room was clean and spacious. The patio had a great sunrise view of the eastern portion of Cairns and later the Esplanade. Great place for my scuba gear to get a final air dry before the long flight back to the states. Great access to the Esplanade walkway. I didn't use any of the hotel services except for the Wifi, which was complimentary. Checkout for the first night was a little confusing. They were going to initially charge my credit card (that I gave for in case of incidentals) when the stay was pre-paid through PTN, it was quickly corrected. Now that I know the lay of the land in Cairns, I would try to look for more reasonable accommodations first on a future trip back. But I realize Cairns is a resort town, with hotel rates to match. If I can't find other accommodations that meet my criteria, I would be happy using the Pacific International again! Will repeat and recommend with caveats.

Yelp
This was probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at while in Australia. The room was quiet, clean, spacious, and the bathroom was not cramped. The location was great - walking distance to everything! From the downtown area to the night market, and even to the pier, it was a short walk from the hotel. My only gripe was that they don't offer free wifi in the room, which I've grown a bit accustomed to in the US. The lobby, however, does offer unlimited password-protected wifi for the guests. Nevertheless, I had a very relaxing stay. Highly recommended; I would gladly stay here again.

Yelp
The entrance is beautiful, great location but the rooms are sub-par. We are in a deluxe room, the bathroom and carpets gross me out a bit - we have an infant and it's nice they gave us a crib but everything is old and needs a really good scrub and updating. The TVs are old as well. I asked for my sheets to be cleaned since the baby made a mess in our bed, the lady at the front desk said she would call to make that request and turns out she never did. Our refrigerator doesn't get cold, which is a major problem for us having bottles to keep cold and breast milk. I wouldn't ever come back here unless they updated the place and got Rid Of the nasty carpets.

Yelp
Pros: - great location next to city centre, activities and beach - friendly staff Cons: - wifi is terrible and they do not tell you or does it state wifi sur name needs to be all caps to login on the wifi - ac unit not working in one unit so moved - $10 per day parking, they do overbook so this doesn't guarantee you a spot esp since its a super small lot - shower has no door so water spills and its just a cramped shower as is - hotel looks beat up throughout - breakfast is super expensive even with discount - no body soap available

Yelp
Not a five star hotel. I would give 3+. Bathroom dated with chipped tiles. Leaky sink. Room size adequate. Furniture is inexpensive laminated particle boards. In room safe and mini bar. Iron and iron board. Coffee maker inside the room is a plus. In room, not equate outlets for phones, iPad,etc. Pool was clean but some chipped coating at the bottom. No shower or change room or drinking water offered in the pool area. Staffs are friendly. Dinner service was good. Very eager to offer more meat. Need room key to access elevator. Good security measure. Will not stay again.

Yelp
Stayed here two nights with one night in between when we were out diving. The hotel was very comfortable and well-situated, and the staff was very helpful with storing our luggage and helping us find our way around. Reasonable price, and a great view of the nightly flight of the local bat colony: amazing sight!

Yelp
Update from previous review: free wifi abounds now, in cousin in the rooms - yay! Comfort, breakfast, luggage storage, check-in/check-out procedures were all great! Front desk guys pleasant an helpful. Hotel let us store our luggage while we went on a few day excursion and then returned to the Pacific. We got back early and they have us VERY early check-in since the rooms were available - MUCH appreciated! Have been to other places that won't give you a room early just because. Thanks Pacific Hotel, we'll be back!
