This museum is really cool! It covers a lot of the history around Newport and its ocean-related professions. From fishing, to shipwrecks, to the history of the building known as Smuggler's Cove, they have it all! They also have some neat exhibits that they change every 4 months or so. Admission is only 10 bucks for adults and you can easily spend a few hours in the museum; especially in their theater where you get to choose which history-related video the projector will play!

Not the biggest place ever, but they use the space extremely well! The little knot tying is super fun and it brings me back to my navy days when I was here! Good fun and fairly priced for the experience.

A relatively undiscovered gem in the middle of the busy Marina tourist area. A set-your- own-pace museum about the history of the fishing and logging history here. Very nice theater with dozens of video clips to choose from to watch. Definitely worth the $10 admission fee!

This was a pretty cool stop. We've been to Newport several times and never made it here so this time I made it a point. Glad I did. We spent about an hour and a half checking out the exhibits and some of the films available. The theater has a selection screen to choose from among 15 different movies - we only watched 2 but they were both good. Displays and information are heavily focused on the history of the local fishing industry with lots of great information. Probably not super engaging for littles but older kids (decent readers) can probably get a lot out of this museum

Joyce was very friendly & informative. The 2nd floor is available for events with a modest rental fee. The basement is still under construction. The deck (all floors actually) have wonderfully stunning views. They have a good interactive corner for kids where they can touch things & it's ok! Lol as a parent, this is always wonderful in a museum. The visit can be as quick or slow & laid back as desired. Do only see myself returning for an event or special showcase/display though.

Once we found the museum, was very impressed! The lady at the counter was super helpful and knowledgeable! We found the museum to be full of a lot of local historical items. AND the two Art displays were also fantastic. Definitely coming back!!

Well laid out exhibits, helpful and informative front desk attendant, and more movies than you'd have time to watch in the theater.

Down the street from all the chaos on the bayfront. Only 5 bucks to get in. So informative. Amazing artifacts. Beautiful building. Nice people. Souvenirs. Tours.
