Casa Loma Beach Hotel Review | Hotels Above Par

"On the rooftop, the Pacific Terrace offers an intimate sunset-watching perch with 180-degree ocean views, custom woven lounge chairs and raw-edge stools that feel handmade rather than catalog-sourced, making it a more accessible alternative to pricier hotel terraces for cocktail-driven sunsets." - Paul Jebara

The Pacific Terrace Hotel is an absolutely perfect place to stay in San Diego. From the moment we walked in every staff member was friendly and welcoming, throughout our entire stay we had some of the best service we’ve had at a hotel! The location couldn’t be any closer to the beach and it was nice that they provided beach chairs, towels and sand toys for our toddler each day. We also loved the patio off our room where we could watch the sunset. The family suites are perfect if you have young kids since they come with a fridge, microwave, dishes, silverware and a dining table - all of this was helpful when we needed to eat a quick quiet meal in our room! The rooms have everything you need, the pool is heated, the parking is on site and such a luxury that close to the beach, all in all a perfect place. We’ll be back soon!

Just a perfect stay at this beautiful beach front hotel. I suggest a full oceanfront room! Celebrated my birthday and the staff were all so awesome! Gifted a bottle of champagne! The alfresco dining is superb, and the cafe staff so accommodating. EVERY SINGLE staff member was so very nice. Shout out to Sophia, Maddie and Adriana who rocked it and made my special day even more special! Will definitely be back.

Lovely - all about the outside ambiance. Large room, very clean, everything you need, but don’t expect a contemporary room. The pool, bar - dining gives that vibe while you look at the ocean. Bike was the easiest, most comfortable, & just a lovely cruise down the path following the ocean. The nicest, most accommodating staff ever. It was December & many hung outside. Enjoy!

We had a great stay! The hotel is in a perfect location — close to everything but still peaceful. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. My kids loved having access to boogie boards the hotel has available for their guests. The staff was SO friendly, special shout out to Jack, who was so accommodating with our last-minute request to change rooms. Excellent service all around — we’d definitely stay here again!

My husband and I chose the Pacific Terrace Hotel as our destination for a relaxing getaway. We have had a stressful year and we're looking for a place to unwind and enjoy some peaceful solitude. We loved our room overlooking the pool area and ocean. A big treat for us was to watch the sunset over the Pacific. And, the weather during our stay was in the mid-70's, perfect for enjoying the pool and beach and walking the boardwalk. Our room was spacious with a kitchenette. I was able to walk to a Ralph's grocery store for breakfast and snack items. There are many good restaurants within walking distance, too. San Diego offers many attractions. I think we have found a favorite getaway! We will return.

The Pacific Terrace Hotel was such a wonderful experience! My partner and I spent just under a week at the property and absolutely LOVED it. Every staff member we interacted with was patient and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. You can walk to many restaraunts, grocery stores, the beach and hop right on the boardwalk. It is far enough away from the busy bars and night life for it to be quiet and peaceful at night. The hotel amenities are great as well. The pool and spa area give you beautiful views of the palm trees and ocean. The cafe and bar area at the hotel makes amazing cocktails as well! I would highly recommend booking this hotel for a vacation and would stay here if I am ever in San Diego again!

Google
I love this hotel! Rooms are designed spaciously, beds are comfortable, great views and wonderful staff! Great vibes all around and perfect location if you love to hear ocean waves at night. It was my husband’s birthday and they brought complimentary chocolate covered strawberries to our room when we checked in. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return again!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely Amazing. Should Be Called a Resort! I honestly don’t understand why they don’t call this place a resort because that’s exactly what it feels like! The Pacific Terrace Hotel has everything you could ask for: a store inside, great restaurants nearby, a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean, and it’s just steps away from the beach. You can go for a relaxing walk by the water, enjoy the most breathtaking sunsets, and at night they light up the fire pits by the pool it’s magical. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly, and the rooms are spotless, spacious, and comfortable. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Pacific Beach, this is the one you should choose first. I’ve stayed in three other hotels in the area before, and none of them even come close. Those other places felt dirty, unsafe, and overpriced. The Pacific Terrace Hotel offers bigger, cleaner rooms, a better atmosphere, and an overall experience that truly stands out. And the best part? I actually paid less here than at the smaller, dirty hotels around the area! This place is a gem. I will definitely stay here every time I come back to Pacific Beach. Highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
WOW WOW! More than 5 stars! My favorite San Diego Mission Beach hotel! My family and I truly LOVE this hotel! They have such amazing and wonderful staff! We had the best time here during our stay and the best hotel we've ever stayed in Mission Beach San Diego. Justin is so hospitable and kind. He gave us a good decent deal so we can get an upgrade with a view. Alex on the other hand was so attentive and went above and beyond. We had some sink issues in our bathroom and it leaked water but Alex, Bob the engineer and other staff helped out. I let them know with the sink issues and BAM within 5 minutes or less they took care of it. Alex brought out towels and checked on us a few times if we were okay. He helped us out a lot and let us borrow some beach chairs and even offered kids' beach toys. Alex is so kind and so caring, he made sure we had the best time. Thank you, Alex for being so sweet to us. You made a big difference with our stay. We have a baby with us and their accommodations, complimentary and amenities helped out a lot such as crib, beach towels, kids' beach toys, beach chairs and beach umbrellas were a HUGE PLUS! It's also such a huge plus that they have a private EV charging station in their garage. It's not free, it has a fee of $40 a day and it helps out a lot to make sure our car is safe and secure. However they waived the fee for us due to bathroom sink issues, they didn't have to do that since the sink didn't bother us much. But we are grateful it got waived & they made sure we were happy with our stay as well. It's wonderful that they have easy beach access, warm pool, hot tub, shower rinse, live music entertainment, bar, free complimentary drinks by the pool as well as breakfast/lunch. It's great!! Thank you Justin and staff for taking care of us and giving us such a great and wonderful experience. If we could get another Alex and Justin in this world, it would be a better place! Thank you so much! Highly recommend and planning to go back already! If I could give these guys more than 5 stars I would! :)

Yelp
For our week-long getaway in San Diego, we chose this beach-front hotel... Although possibly a long standing tradition on Pacific Beach, this boutique hotel appeared to be in pristine condition...especially inside the hotel. Our room was beautifully renovated...and almost looked brand new! The size of our room was impressively large...not to mention generously appointed. Not only routine things like mini-fridge, microwave and hair dryer, but things you wouldn't even expect...like packets of coffee condiments, cotton balls...even turn-down service with chocolate truffles in the evenings! Unlike the tighter hotels of late, they still offer daily housekeeping. Definitely deserves the title of a boutique hotel. As much as we loved the plush beds and the wide-screen TV, the big winner was their terrace views (as implied in their name!). From our second-floor patio-terrace, we were able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the walkway, the pool and the Pacific Ocean! Picture-perfect sunset viewing as well. Just check out a few of my pics...and these sunsets were on cloudy days! Although Coronado and La Jolla are my fave beaches in San Diego, there's definitely something to be said for the wilder Pacific Beach. It draws a younger crowd for a reason...as this seems to be almost a cult destination for surfers. From our patio-terrace, we had the best view of the surfers throughout the day (and night)! Given how the weather was too cool for half the time we were there, the stunning terrace view was truly a lifesaver. Big thanks to Mason for helping us upgrade our room to beach-front view just days before our arrival date...and also, for the generous wine bottle in our room! The hotel staff members were all very hospitable as well. From front desk and concierge agents, to bar attendant, all the hotel staff members were all thoroughly professional...not only friendly and gracious, but helpful. Definitely top tier in terms of service! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little piece of paradise...and if we return to the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, we'll probably try to repeat the experience!

Yelp
Hotel staff is amazing. The location is right on the beach on a small cliff. Really relaxing. Rooms have the best views with easy pool and beach access. They always have free fresh cookies, flavored water and fresh fruit available. Pool bar/food wait staff is always available. The overall service will bring us back here.

Yelp
I had two Theory button-down shirts hemmed here before a wedding, and the results were perfect. The tailoring was clean, precise, and finished right on time. The fit looked like it came straight off the rack--just sharper and more custom. The staff was professional, friendly, and clearly take pride in their work. Highly recommend Better Fit Alterations for anyone who values quality craftsmanship and attention to detail!

Yelp
My family visited San Diego for the first time this past October, and our stay at the Pacific Terrace Hotel truly made our trip unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful staff who went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The location is simply unbeatable--being within walking distance of the beach allowed us to enjoy morning and evening strolls along the shore. And waking up to ocean views and falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing was pure bliss. (We captured some enviable sunset photos from our balcony!) Plus, it was incredibly easy to get downtown when we wanted to explore the city. The concierge recommended several restaurants that became highlights of our trip--but we also loved the in-house restaurant. The food was excellent and the beach vibe was perfect! The hotel has so many thoughtful amenities, but particular standouts were the afternoon cookies and evening turndown chocolates--these were a delightful way to end the day! I can't recommend the Pacific Terrace Hotel highly enough, and I'm looking very forward to our return trip!

Yelp
10/10 experience and hotel. The customer service was amazing. The room was so spacious and clean and has the best view (partial room view). It's at the perfect location, right on the beach and near a lot of places. I love that they offer free bike rentals, free beach chairs, free towels all to rent. They also offer massages if you book ahead; they don't have a spa but someone comes to the hotel. My experience was really good. It's worth every penny!

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights in Sept. Front desk, valet and cleaning staff was awesome. We didn't get to the cafe, so can't comment on that. Highly recommend if you're staying in the area.
google avatar

Adri H.

Yelp
The rooms were comfortable, towels were soft, halls were quiet, and the sliding glass doors were amazing for blocking the noise when you've had enough of the ocean. The tub was perfect for romance or just relaxation! The hotel is right in the boardwalk and surrounded by places to shop and eat. Having a sofa in the room, remote reasonable parking cost, and reclining chairs on the balcony would have made this ideal. If I could have given this a 4.5 I would have.

Yelp
Best vacation ever!!! The staff felt like family. They truly love their jobs and you can tell! Can't wait to come back again!!! We loved our room too! Just perfect and spotless!!!

Yelp
Staff was friendly, loved being so close to the beach and restaurants, pool was adequate, although not nearly enough pool chairs for everyone. Get there early to reserve your chair if you want it! My biggest complaint is that we splurged for my sister's 40th birthday and paid for a full oceanview room. What we got was a partial oceanview with a full view of the public restroom, which smelled and was a gathering place for homeless people. It was literally 30 feet from our balcony. Whenever we sat out on our balcony, it was not what we expected. When I asked the front desk about it, they reiterated that it was considered a full oceanview room. If you book and want an oceanview room, ask to NOT be in room 205. Honestly, the level one and level three rooms above and below us and surrounding probably have the same issue. Ask to not be on that side of the hotel!

Yelp
Amazing hotel. I highly recommend it. It is rather pricey but if you find a good deal then book it! We went for our anniversary weekend and booked the romance package. Got some rose petals and champagne. They upgraded us to an ocean view room. The view is amazing. It was heavenly sitting on the balcony, listening to the waves, watching people stroll and bike on the boardwalk. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff is wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed chatting with them every day. We were out the first evening so they left the fresh baked cookies in our room. They have them in the lobby every day at 4 pm. The resort fee includes 2 hour bike rentals. Take advantage of that. Also includes nice beach chairs, beach toys, volleyball, wiffle ball stuff, boogie boards. The pool is small but was heated and felt nice since it was only in the 60s. Good service at the pool. There is no restaurant but there is a small cafe for breakfast. The food was overall good. Coffee was delicious. Great service once again. I would book this place again on our next trip to San Diego.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about the Pacific Terrace Hotel. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Mariana, Ashlynn, Lauren, Seamus, Mason, Kyle, Caleb, Matt, Talon... there were too many staff to mention everyone, but they were all great. Mariana was especially helped us with our booking and then helped us once we checked in. Then there was the hotel itself which is located right by the ocean near walking paths, restaurants and shops. We had a junior suite facing the ocean. It was perfect. Our room was beautiful, so spacious, so clean with a balcony to sit out on and enjoy the view of the ocean. We watched the sunsets at night and we had delicious breakfasts by the pool in the morning. We love this hotel and we have already booked a return stay. Paul Freeman

Yelp
We loved it. The front desk crew were more than helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spotlessly clean and ready for us. (OK, the heavy wood decor is not my style.) The pool was warm and clean with great ocean views. The pool towels and chairs were always available. During the week there is no need to pay for the hotel parking. We came and went many times and never parked more than one block away on the street for free. The ocean is right outside the doors. Incredible location! A few minor changes that I would make: The room was almost cold. Relax on the AC, guys. I don't like a "20% service charge" at the cafe. I think that I am smart enough to choose when to tip and how much.

Suzi H.

Yelp
PERFECT LOCATION! Had a great time over New Years! Staff was extremely helpful, rooms were very clean and up to date. We will be back!

Yelp
Going to stay again tomorrow! Very friendly staff, secured parking, saltwater pool, on the beach, and they provide beach chairs, bicycles, and I'm looking forward to the chocolate covered strawberries that we added on!

Yelp
The Pacific Terrace is a wonderful hotel. (It's definitely not inexpensive ... but very enjoyable). Our suite (The Grand) overlooked the beach/ocean. The sunsets were spectacular. Breakfast was really good. And, the staff was fantastic. Most especially housekeeping ... who create amazing animals by using bath towels. Also, two brief negatives: 1 --- The common areas of the hotel were a bit worn ... and seemingly, not cleaned on a daily basis. 2--- The elevator was very slow.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I just stayed here with my sister and our nieces. This was the perfect vacation spot! The rooms were lovely, the food and drinks were great, the pool was wonderful and the views of the ocean were spectacular! On top of that, the service was exemplary. Our concierge, Alexa, made sure all our needs were met. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you want to experience the perfect spot on Pacific Beach San Diego - THIS is your place!! Plentiful amentities, friendly, helpful staff and close to many restaurants and shops. One of those places you just don't want to leave and look forward to returning to.

Yelp
I just finished a week long stay at Pacific Terrace. This is our 3rd or 4th stay at this property. My great service experience compelled me to write a review. When I checked in, I requested not to stay over the pool. The front desk attendant gave us a room and stated it's not over the pool...well he clearly didn't know the property well enough. I went back to the front desk and gave Drew a hard time that he doesn't know the property well enough. He went to work trying to find our reserved room type that did not overlook the pool. After 5 minutes of working the reservation terminal, his supervisor, Marianna walked in. Quickly Drew asked for her help. Because we were staying a week, she couldn't find a way to solve this challenge. Marianna asked if I would be willing to move rooms a few times and the first night they would upgrade us to their best room on the property. I told her this solution was perfectly fine. She changed our booking to make the room change's work and apologized for having to move a few times. Although I was happy with the solution, she comp'd us a bottle of sparkling wine for our inconvenience. The customer service demonstrated by Marianna is how I train my employees. As a business owner, she exemplified how important great training is and the importance of ensuring your clients are 100% satisfied. I tip my hat to Pacific Terrace's training program and culture. This experience solidifies my accommodation choice every time I plan a trip to San Diego....after all that, why only 4 stars? This beautiful property is feeling a little bit tired with finishes and furnishings. I saw visqueen barriers up so I'm sure they are actively working on upgrades as budget allows. With some upgrades, this property would rival most high end beachfront properties. Btw, Marianna deserves a raise.
google avatar

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
This is far from a five star hotel or even a four star. I would say it's a three star very basic great location by the beach, but the rooms are very subpar and old. I was expecting some thing a lot nicer. The blankets are uncomfortable, and the hotel itself is not the most well-maintained. However, the staff was amazing and very friendly.
google avatar

Arianna R.

Yelp
Spent one night and wanted to like it, but it felt overrated and overpriced. Animal towel in room was cute. Front desk was really nice. I woke up with bug bites on my legs. When I showed up at breakfast area ~ 30 min before they close, it seemed like the people working there kind of rolled their eyes and didn't want more customers. There were a lot of large flies there. Building seemed older.

Amy M.

Yelp
Lovely hotel, perfect beach vibe, and the staff were very kind and thoughtful. Would totally recommend if you are looking for a quiet coastal stay.

Yelp
Great stay they took great care of us !! Beautiful ocean view !! Clean rooms, wonderful staff would stay here again for sure.

Yelp
Excellent location, beautiful hotel. On the expensive side for hotel in Pacific Beach, Mission Beach area but we really enjoyed the stay.

Doug P.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect, the staff are friendly, the rooms were very nice. I like that the hotel is smaller, it makes the experience more personal.

Yelp
San Diego for spring break! First time staying at this hotel. We had a room with a balcony and an ocean view. The room had a fridge and a microwave. Parking was underground. I like the area because there's so much to see and do within walking distance of the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean. Pool area is small and doesn't have a lot of seating. We were only able to get chairs near the pool once. Two fire pits...never got to sit near them. Most of the rooms face the pool, so it got noisy.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
They were super nice. The maids did a great job. And we kindly asked for more hot cocoa and they did.
google avatar

Kristy Q.

Yelp
The front desk staff is super friendly. The room cleaning staff does a great job and leaves towels animals. The grounds are great and pool is super warm. The cafe is nice for cocktails at night. There was even a fire dancer for entertainment last night.
google avatar

Cam S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, right on the beach. You can't go wrong. There was an issue that the cleaning staff missed. The hotel immediately rectified it and sent a lovely charcuterie platter. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect for our girls trip weekend in San Diego! When my friends and I were planning our trip, our top preference was to find a hotel that was right on the water so that we could hear the waves from our room. This place did that and then much more. First off, the location is amazing. Not only is it right on the beach, but it's a short drive from the airport and surrounded by so many amazing restaurants and stores that are all within walking distance. The only time we ever used Lyft during the trip was to get to and from the airport! The three of us stayed in one of the Junior Suites on the first level, which was ideal since it had a nice outdoor patio with lounge chairs that led out into the pool area. The room and bathroom were both larger than what we expected, and it was nice to have a little kitchenette area to eat and drink in. Whenever we needed something, the staff at the front desk was always quick to respond and everyone that we met there were very friendly and cordial towards all the guests. Even when I called to ask for a bandaid, they literally showed up at our door within a minute or so. Take advantage of some of the other amenities that they offer, such as the food/cocktails by the pool (and s'mores!), fitness center, and spa room (our massages were to die for). They also have complimentary checkout at 12pm instead of 11am, and give you access to the amenities including the pool area even after you check out, in case you have a late afternoon flight. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Stayed in room 112, right next to the kitchen. Awakened at 6:00 a.m. by noise coming from the kitchen and in front of our door. Noise continued from 6 a.m. on, so unable to go back to sleep. Made for a poor night's sleep. Property was overall small, but pleasant. Room was large, clean, pleasant. They need hand held shower heads. Would have been a positive stay except foe the early morning awakening

David M.

Yelp
Our stay was incredible! The staff was so helpful and Mason made our one night stay memorable. Our room was fully equipped with all our needs. This place is the best choice if your wanting an incredible view of Pacific Beach. We hope to be back soon!

Liane H.

Yelp
This hotel is AMAZING. The staff is kind and helpful. The food is fantastic and the view is like no other. Mason was very attentive to our needs and made sure our stay was beyond our expectations. Thank you thank you thank you Pacific Terrace. We most certainly will be back.

Yelp
We spent 3 nights here for a family of 4. We staying in a partial ocean view suite facing north. Overall, we had a great experience. Breakfast was fantastic - loved the omelette. Drinks by the pool were delicious and reasonably priced. Hotel and pool are clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Locations is awesome - right on the pacific beach boardwalk within walking distance to many stores, restaurants and bars. Loved the free bike rentals. We took several family bike rides to missions beach and the bay. Kids loved it and it was free. Parking was on-site and reasonably priced. Overall, would highly recommend.

Lisa M.

Yelp
We LOVED staying at this hotel! The location is amazing, the amenities were fantastic, but most of all, every single person that worked there was delightful! Any request we had, big or small, was met with such kindness and responsiveness. They gave us beach chairs to use, sand toys for my kids, and bikes to cruise the boardwalk. My mom and I took my two daughters and they even want to write letters thanking everyone for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It's hard not to be disappointed when you reserve "full ocean view" room and you are booked in 1 of a handful of rooms that doesn't actually face the sun. So no sunset and no direct sunlight on our patio. The hotel isn't booked full so I can't figure out why they wouldn't put us in a room where we could see the sunset. Definitely put a damper on our first family vacation. The rooms are a little tight if traveling with a baby but clean and nice enough. The beds are randomly very bulky and take up a lot of extra space as well as create a little challenge to get in and out of gracefully. Bathroom is no frills but clean.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel Sunday May 23rd. This hotel had great customer service from start to finish. I was supposed to be there two nights but I had a delayed flight and showed up a day later. The staff was friendly and supportive with everything I was going through trying to get to San Diego. The only issue I had at this hotel was my champagne would not open but I can't complain too much because it was complimentary so I decided to give it back to the hotel. No biggie. Now let's talk about the quality of the hotel rooms. You can tell that this place was gorgeous a few years back. It's a little outdated now which I didn't like but from what I understand, most of the hotels in San Diego are a little older/outdated. This was my first time in San Diego so I do not have a lot to compare this hotel to. The views and set up of this hotel was gorgeous I just wish it was newer and I wish the lighting was better. Some of our lights didn't even work but I didn't complain because I was only in the hotel for a few hours. The other rooms might be better but for the price I paid for a beach hotel. I honestly can't complain.

Yelp
Beautiful place to Stay. San Diego Native and love it here. Lots to do around the Hotel. Jacuzzi in the Room Is my favorite.

Dean L.

Yelp
The most important problem I had here was a bit of excessive noise. The ocean view rooms are all pool adjacent, so there is noise until about 10 pm if you have your slider open, which you will want, because the sound of the ocean is so seductive. So, if you can't tolerate bursts of laughter and kids playing in the pool, it could bug you. Another issue is lack of storage in the room. I found myself balancing my stuff on the towel rack to take a shower. Also, hosts, please stop putting decorative bedding/pillows on top of actual, clean bedding. It's gross, and it does little to nothing to improve the aesthetics of the rooms. The good definitely outweighs the bad: it has a perfect location on Pacific Beach, within walking distance of many restaurants. We enjoyed our balcony overlooking the beach, where one can watch surfers at any waking hour. La Jolla and UCSD are just up the hill, and Old Town, downtown, and Cabrillo Monument are all fairly short drives. If you're carless, there are rentable bikes and scooters on every street corner. It is 15 minutes from the airport. Finally our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and staff was friendly.

Yelp
A nice Getaway! Located steps from the beach, this small boutique hotel offers very large rooms, comfortable beds and a spectacular balcony with ocean views. You can leave yoir double balcony doors open, watch the sunset and fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves. There is a small cement bike/pedestrian path that separates your hotel from steps that lead dows to a wide and spacious beach. The hotel does not have a restaurant. They do offer room service and there are numerous Restaurants a short car ride away. They offer bike rentals so you can ride down the coast and even to the park with the rides and games. They also offer beach gear including shovels and toys for the kids and movie cds as part of the resort fee. The staff is ok and friendly enough. The rooms and hotel are clean. Street parking is easy, safe and free This is a perfect place if you want sunsets and ocean views.

Yelp
The hotel itself is really nice. Front desk is very nice and accommodating. they have beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, and bikes you can use. the room i had was a sunset suite and it was very clean and spacious. the bathrooms are nice. the parking was very convenient, either parking along side the building in the alley or they do have gated underground parking. while i was there they offered fun activities almost every evening and day out by the pool area. they did a fire show one of the nights and a cookout during the day i was there. the pool is nice and there's beach access also. 5/5 for me for san diego beach hotels. by far the nicest one along the board walk.

Yelp
What a gem! From the moment we walked in the door - everything about this hotel was wonderful and we can't wait to go back! Our favorites: amazing view from room 305 heated pool friendly staff fun location sound of the ocean great bedding glassware See you again soon, Pacific Terrace!

Yelp
Booked because of the location and reviews, and was pleased with the entire stay. Had a 'partial view' room, and it was so lovely to look at the ocean at any time. Would stay again.

I had an absolutely great stay at this hotel. Starting from the check in process everything was seamless and all the staff were so kind and helpful. Cade was informative and kind. The view from the Kingston suite was unbelievable. I'd recommend staying here if you're in San Diego. Of note, Jeffson our waiter at breakfast was also so kind. Staff like this really makes a stay special.

Yelp
We stayed at the Pacific Terrace Hotel for a week & found it unique, from its plush Tommy Bahama-themed rooms, down to the expert customer service provided to guests. Listen to the Pacific Ocean while you slumber..leave your door open, go ahead..San Diego has no mosquitoes. The concierge will arrange for everything you need at the beach..towels, sun umbrella, toys for the children, picnic lunches for you..and carry it all down the stairs to the beach a stones throw away. Their pool is heated to a warm 80 degrees in the Winter so swimming is sweet! Balconies, a restaurant, boutique, great restaurants within walking distance and boardwalk location in Pacific Beach completes the fun. Excellent choice for your stay. Highly recommend! 101/100

Yelp
This hotel was a little pricey for a partial ocean view room, but overall, was worth every penny. What really sets this hotel apart is the service. The staff was super friendly (especially the team at the poolside bar!). The valet service couldn't have been easier to use and the cleaning staff were quick and thorough--special thanks to whoever arranged my daughters stuffed animals on the bed. The hotel itself is very safe with keycard locked entrances to the boardwalk right near the pool area just a few steps from the stairs down to the beach. After a sunset stroll by the beach, I highly recommend coming back and enjoying s'mores by the pool. I loved my time at this hotel and didn't want to leave. This will be my "go-to" for future trips to PB.

Yelp
Not a bad place but not worth a 5 star review. There is no free parking and you can only park in the underground garage or alley way for $28/night. Didn't feel comfortable with valet or the alley so self parking is available next to the beach. There are bums EVERYWHERE. We heard a bum shouting and screaming right next to the hotel. All around the hotel there are bums. Cool spot to go to little restaurant around though. The room service for regular meals is about $20-$35 per plate plus taxes (13.5%, fees + 18% fees + gratuity and tip). Drinks are $10 each but they do give you a BOGO so that's cool for $5 each drinks without tip and service fees I feel like service fees are on everything though. I prepaid for a full ocean view room and still ended up paying an extra $20 per day on top of the $100 deposit and the $68 resort fees. That's on top of $500 for 2 nights with a deal. The buffet was cool with the BOGO also but all the food was cold! And for $14 it should be Atleast warm. I barely ate any of it. The room itself was okay. The thing that most drove us to this place is the beach view and it was dark when we came and cold so we couldn't really enjoy it also. The room looked a bit outdated. The ceiling tiles didn't line up and had gaps. When we first got there the whole room smelled like a strong vanilla odor and it was so strong we had to air it out by keeping the patio door open for 2 days. It helped but that smell never went away! The waters in the room were $5 each so make sure not to drink them or else you will get charged. Also the mini bar is extra which I think should be included for the price. The cabinet door came apart when I pulled. The sink wasn't working in the bathroom. Shower door jam fell off also. Overall this place was decent and the staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the stay but we would not stay here again and this is more like a 3 star hotel not 4 as others were saying
