Paddock Bakery is hands down one of my favorite spots on the Gold Coast. The atmosphere is always so welcoming, and the food is absolutely amazing! Every time I visit, I leave feeling satisfied and eager to return. I love taking my friends here, as it’s the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed brunch or a coffee break. The menu never disappoints, with fresh, delicious options that cater to everyone’s tastes. If you’re looking for a cozy, vibrant spot with fantastic food and great service, this is the place to be!

Still a great cafe with a lot more seating and bigger menu since the last time we visited years ago. Every we ordered were tasty but bear in mind they are not big portions. Since they are a bakery, I recommend ordering from the bakery option. However we found out the popular items tends to run out early.

Very cute little cafe! We enjoyed our experience here! This place is always very busy and we were lucky to get a seat! The line is long but goes pretty quick! The food is very tasty and good coffee (however warm not hot) and the coffee took a while to come out. The table next to us had two dogs and didn’t really stop them from going to other people’s table, it was cute at first but a little annoying after a while (not putting the blame on the cafe).

Paddock Bakery, located in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, is a charming café housed in a restored weatherboard cottage. With both indoor and garden seating, it offers a cozy and rustic atmosphere that draws in both locals and visitors. The menu features wood-fired sourdough, soft-boiled dippy eggs with toasted soldiers, and semi-sourdough doughnuts that often sell out early. The coffee is highly rated, and there are a few vegan options, though some customers feel the selection could be expanded. The quality of the baked goods and the inviting ambiance. However, the café can get quite busy, leading to long wait times and limited parking. The prices slightly high, catering more to the Instagram crowd. Overall, Paddock Bakery is a great spot for breakfast or brunch, especially for those who enjoy artisanal baked goods in a cozy setting. Arriving early is recommended to avoid crowds and ensure the best selection.

Review: Paddock Bakery, Burleigh Heads If you're on the Gold Coast and looking for a breakfast spot that combines style, creativity, and incredible flavors, Paddock Bakery in Burleigh Heads is a must-visit. We stopped in early and were immediately charmed by the rustic, industrial vibe of the place. The open bakery area, vintage decor, and warm atmosphere made it feel like a hidden gem. We ordered the Bacon and Egg Roll and an Acai Bowl, and both dishes were absolute standouts. The Bacon and Egg Roll was phenomenal: thick, crispy bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and a homemade bun that was soft inside with a nice crunch outside. It was simple but done to perfection. The Acai Bowl was equally delightful – fresh, vibrant, and loaded with berries, banana, granola, and a drizzle of honey. It was the ideal balance of refreshing and satisfying. The presentation was on point, too. Each dish looked like it belonged in a food magazine, with attention to detail that made the whole meal feel extra special. The staff was friendly, and though the cafe was buzzing with people, the service was quick and welcoming. Overall, Paddock Bakery deserves all the praise it gets. From the creative menu and quality ingredients to the relaxed vibe and friendly service, this place has it all. Be sure to stop by early because it’s popular, and for good reason – Paddock Bakery is a breakfast experience that truly stands out.

Google
Paddock gets it, the food is a mixture of health and the day off. A mixture of snacks, sweets, breakfasts, pastry’s and full meals, atmosphere relaxed and the seating mostly under the trees in the shade away from Director heat. A pleasurable experience with a great vibe.

This is my second time eating here and I absolutely loved it. The staff were polite and friendly. We ordered a cream cheese bagel and bacon + egg roll, food was delicious and despite being really busy it all came out very quickly. The coffee was amazing as well. I got a loaf of bread to take home and it’s so soft and tasty. Will definitely be back again!

This place is very cute. We got the Korean salad and burger. Both were very tasty! Although on the pricier side. Would not recommend the matcha though. It was quite milky and not worth 7.50, sorry. I think it just needed to be stronger. Lovely atmosphere too.

Yelp
This is the quintessential Aussie cafe/bakery. I loved the ambiance of sitting in the garden, choosing the potting shed, or inside the cafe. The young man who took our order was witty and fun. Service was superb. Four of us dined on a variety of menu items and drinks. We all left totally satisfied. I will definitely visit again!

Yelp
My cousin who lives up the road highly recommended Paddock. On the recommendation of the counter girl I tried the Chicken Curry Pie. These are not your dairy pies small shops in the area have. If you want a little more gourmet this is a good place. Nice atmosphere and quite popular. Go early they run out of things. Sandwich's and burgers look good as well.

Yelp
The atmosphere, the food, the gathering just incredible. Such a lovely place at Miami, the Gold Coast.

Yelp
Wow! What an incredible spot this is on the Gold Coast. Don't be worried by the lines, plenty of seats here. The chicken burger was FANTASTIC and the pastries are amazing. Don't miss this spot while you are in town!

Yelp
Short walk from Motel, Bakery is next level and highly recommended. Although some are a bit rich for my liking. Meals are also always good.

Yelp
Hand down one of the best breakfast spots in Gold Coast! They have a huge parking lot which makes it easy to find a spot. Upon entry you can either go to the trailer for a takeaway order or you can grab a table and browse over the menu. It's a self-service cafe, so once you figure out what you would like - have one person stand in line to order and give the table number while the other person stays at the table. My favorite item to order is the Smoked Salmon Bagel. Although it seems like such a simple dish - it is truly the best I have ever had! The soft freshly made bagel with the nice cream cheese and garnish is so delicious. It normally comes with onions and capers too but I ask for them removed. My partner loves the Kimchi Burger and this is also one of their popular dishes. As for desserts - the cheesecake is incredible!! I'm always skeptical about cheesecakes and I'm known to make one of the best ones at home, however this one is fantastic! It's not too sweet and the texture is perfect. The carrot cake was good too but a bit too sweet for my preference. Overall a fantastic place to get breakfast, lunch, bakery items or drinks. The staff are all super friendly and the food is amazing. You also get to watch their making their bakery items fresh each day behind a glass window. Highly recommend!

Jack R.

Yelp
One of my favourite spots on the GC! It's an artisan bakery with an amazing, varied selection of baked goods and also has an extensive brunch menu. There's specials every month but my go to is the white chocolate and strawberry muffin - delicious. Also, there's a takeaway stand out the front. The atmosphere is great, with multiple large seating areas which is super practical considering it gets busy on weekends. Absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area! Awesome coffee too. Always friendly staff.

Yelp
Paddock was recommended by a neighbour who was going to base a new bakery he was starting on this concept. And the concept is quite simple: fresh baked goods on premises, a nice sample of breakfast and/or lunch staples, aromatic and tasty coffees and a unique touch to the interior and exterior design. Our party mostly ordered and destroyed Paddock's eggs benny with a variety of coffees and we dined outside amongst the charming environs of this classic old Queenslander which is set in a picturesque location. Breakfast and coffee prices are pretty much average for the area, but with onsite parking, a dog-friendly dining policy (outside only, of course), and an enthusiastic crowd from Millennials to Hipsters, Baby Boomers and beyond, it's a fun and casual place to frequent and enjoy the company of family, friends or that special loved one.

Kacey S.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the service this morning, firstly went with my two lovely dogs & whilst trying to find a place to sit constantly being pushed by ladies working and couldn't even find a place to sit. most importantly we got two puppychinos for the dogs, instead we received COFFEES, when we returned them didn't even get an apology. Very disappointing very rude staff in the horsefloat today, & should definitely get your orders right as my dog should not be drinking coffee!

Suzie L.

Yelp
This bakery hidden in the back streets of Miami/Burleigh Heads is a wonderful spot to have lunch. The bakery is in a converted house with rustic wooden furniture, open plan kitchen and garden seating so you feel like you are eating at someone's house. Our turkey cranberry sandwich and winter vegetable salad was delicious but we thought it was a little pricey - especially as it was served on disposable plates.

Andrew W.

Yelp
Great doughnuts and brekky! A selection of great aussies brekky classics and many unique choices like "Toad in the Hole" which is fried egg inside sourdough toast with great housemade chili. Their doughnuts are they're top selling point. The doughnuts are fluffy and big and packed full of flavor. Coffee is mediocre and the smoothies are overpriced. Final drawback is that the place smelled of urine. Service was friendly but Saturday morning the place was full and the staff were too busy to say much. Good ambience has a relaxed country feel with the antler decor and the rustic wood furnishings. Price was a bit more than many other breakfast places in the area. 10$ for a smoothie. About 20$ for a main and 5$ for a latte. All in all I would say good place to come for doughnuts. Skip the smoothie and coffee.

Yelp
Australia has found its favorite spot! Thank you for treating us Americans! We loved exploring this place on our stop up the Gold Coast

Lani P.

Yelp
You wouldn't expect to find a super cute cafe slash wood-fire bakery in the industrial back streets of Miami, yet Paddock Bakery is there and by all accounts on this Saturday morning, a quaint spot for locals. Stopping in for an early breakfast, the waft of fresh baked bread fills this converted cottage. It's counter service and once you order you're given a wooden spool as your table number. While my inner-child wanted to order the fairy bread, I opted for the much more responsible dippy eggs (soft-boiled eggs with soldiers) which came in an egg carton and included labna, bacon and parsley. A well balanced and light start to the day. Paired with a coffee made on their house blend beans - I was a happy camper. This is another in the new age of the "Gold Coast" and a great spot to stop and smell the roses if you happen to be in the area.

Britt C.

Yelp
This place opened up and was an instant whirlwind - crowded from go. I think they are best known for their fresh sourdough, but they have a nice small breakfast selection. I had the dippy eggs with "soldiers" ...not exactly sure what they called it. It was presented in such a clever and cute way in a cardboard egg container that would have held 6 eggs - it comes with 2 eggs and then they give you some herbed butter in one spot, bits of diced up bacon in another and some micro herbs the other side has your perfectly sliced up bits of bread to dip in your eggs. Totally delicious! I wish I had got a sweet treat as well, I've heard they do some sort of banana/nut bread that's really good. If I'm down on the coast again I'd definitely try to stop by!

Yelp
The food here is amazing and just that bit different from other offerings nearby. The coffee is also very good. Venue is brilliantly done and a nice little oasis in the immediate area. Service not as friendly as other places in the area, but still polite and prompt.

Paul T.

Yelp
This is a great place to have breaky or lunch. the food and coffee is always good and the service is always friendly. But get there early as parking can be a problem.

Jasmine S.

Yelp
such a pretty and cute place, with even prettier food that's absolutely delicious as well.

Yelp
Upon arrival, you will realise just how popular this place really is. It's not easy finding a car park, but sometimes you do get lucky (we did). It was on our second visit that I decided to indulge in a Large Iced Coffee and some Salad. We also ordered A Doughnut, and a lovely Pastrami Sandwich. The coffee was perfect, not too strong but with just enough kick so that it doesn't disappear in the milk and ice. And thats also another nice thing... the fact that it tastes perfect, without the extra ice-cream and sugar (don't get me wrong i love a scoop of ice-ceram and a dash of vanilla extract just as much, but it is a nice change). The salads, of which i tried two, were also rather tasty. I am rather fond of most things Roasted Pumpkin and Spinach related, and it is one of those salads that is becoming readily available, but this one THIS exact one was... I'm pretty sure one of the best i've had so far. I say this because, not only could you taste the lovely roasted-ness of the pumpkin but you could actually see the rosemary on the pumpkin... and for some reason it makes me feel so much better...like it really really did get roasted the way someone who loves roasting would roast pumpkin... DID I SAY ROAST ENOUGH??!? The rest of the salad was also exemplary. The place itself has a wonderful atmosphere, you instantly feel welcomed, as if to a friends house, where you can, if you so desire, spend hours just relaxing and taking it all in. Possibly undertaking some PeopleWatching. I think it has something to do with the salvaged wooden furniture and the native flowers (inside). Also the Doughnut was Delicious...Fluffy and mmmmm give me more. Oh but be warned, the salad, sandwich, doughnut and two iced coffees did set us back $35. Soooo, it's not cheap. But worth it if you're after something to treat yourself with. Get in early if you want one of their rather popular cruffins or doughnuts.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Everything about this place is great. The food is amazing, the outdoor setting provide a lovely relaxing atmospheric and the staff are happy abd friendly. Their eggs are always perfectly cooked and their muffins are to die for! I would highly recommend the strawberry and white chocolate muffin. If you are looking for a great brunch spot to head to with your friends this is the place for you! One of my favourite brunch spots on the Gold Coast.

Yelp
The best. Worth the drive. And the queue. We drive down for an hour once a month. A highlight of the day trip

Blaire E.

Yelp
Nice quaint bakery. Could be amazing, but falls short. Pros: Fresh ingredients Beautiful space Plenty of seating and parking Cons: Prices do not parallel the quality of their food and coffees Poor customer service Limited menu

Geoff S.

Yelp
I have heard a bit about this place from friends and decided to check it out. As expected finding a car park on the street was difficult for the morning crowd. My first impression was how different the atmosphere was - simple and relaxing. There was fresh OJ, muffins and donuts of different flavors to try. What caught my eye on the menu was the Carrot Cake Porridge which, of course, I ordered. It was great and so was the coffee. I will definitely be coming back.

Rasha K.

Yelp
Had a coffee and a salted caramel doughnut...possibly the best doughnut I have ever had in my life! If you are in the area this place is a must! Super cute and casual for breakfast chilled friendly staff and delicious delicious food!

O0mel F.

Yelp
Paddock bakery has got to be the best cafe we've been to in Gold Coast! We dropped by on a Sunday and the cafe was packed. We read the reviews beforehand and knew their Croissant and Cruffin was a must-try. Turns out it certainly was! We love it here!!

Brett O.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service and amazing food. A whole lot of love has been put into making this space feel just right and it shows.

Tere V.

Yelp
Best breakfast I've had so far on my vacation in Australia! When you first arrive to Paddock it feels like a very inviting bed & breakfast. Out front is a brown rustic fence and a lawn full of tables with people enjoying their meals and each other's company. Inside are a few communal tables large enough to share with multiple groups. I wish I could've ordered all of their pastries and sampled each one. Instead I ordered one dark chocolate raspberry muffin which was baked to perfection and pleasantly surprised to find a small dollop of melted chocolate inside. For brekkie, I devoured creme fraiche scrambled eggs with mushrooms on toast from their home baked bread of course. So fluffy and a good sized portion. I wish I could go back! The staff was always on their feet making all of the customers happy. You can even see the cooks and bakers prepare all of their goodies while waiting in line. Glass windows surrounding their kitchen make for a delightful display of Paddock's culinary passion for curious foodies to view! Great ambience and teamwork and delicious breakfast overall!

Ray B.

Yelp
You will love it here. Great menu friendly busy staff . You may have to park and walk to this place but we'll worth it. And you will probably stand in line to order again worth the wait. In and outside tables and the coffee is served in a real cup. I hate paper unless I am on the go and think it is lazy to not be given a choice.

Dina M.

Yelp
Chilled indoor outdoor atmosphere with terrific fresh food. Happy they finally introduced a terrific matcha latte with healthy milk alternatives. Not a great place if it's raining as most seating is outdoor but regardless it's a great garden cottage feel off the beaten path.

Stuart H.

Yelp
Arrived 10am on a Tuesday. Parked over near the beach and walked 5 mins to get to this cute cafe/bakery with its (mainly) outdoor seating area. Had a big choice of tables to choose from. Their almond croissant is excellent - if you are looking for something light and sweet it is pretty much a meal in itself. Egg roll (in a hamburger bun) was good. Home made sausage roll and their chutney was a good alternative to an egg/sausage selection. Coffee was also well done.

Accessorize T.

Yelp
A cute little place tucked away in the back streets of Miami. We were made to work for our food, as parking was a bit difficult. I loved the variety of the food it offered and the atmosphere was incredible, I didn't mind the half an hour wait for food on a busy Saturday morning. The food was absolutely delicious and the juice was delightful. The price was suitable for the quality of the food, not so much for the portion. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to going back and trying the other dishes on the menu! It is so amazing to have a place like this on the gold coast. It is a hidden gem!

Rochelle C.

Yelp
Super busy for breakfast and lunch on weekends, but it's the kind of place that is all about making the locals happy. Strong support from the community means finding a table will be hard to do, but if you're willing to either wait or get take-out, you won't regret your choice. Have a vast selection of yummy baked goods for choosing, but I think the toasted sandwiches are where it's at. Reuben, true to form, has a great combination of corned beef, sour kraut and for added value, thin slices of dill pickle to add contrast. They also bake their own bread, making it pretty clear that you are eating local when you walk through the door.

Kansa R.

Yelp
Horrible experience waited for over an hour today as printer broke and they had to take orders by hand. So may angry people and ended up leaving

Tracy Jane R.

Yelp
This place is an adorable and relaxed cafe where you can order some interest twists on food that keep it's delicious integrity. They are a new and whimsical bakery that offers some very tasty treats like Nutella Donuts, Donutballs, homemade gourmet sausage rolls and MORE! Pros: Tasty food Fresh and organic ingredients Cute cafe with a lot of space Plenty of parking and tables Transparent look into how the food is made and prepared Coffee is amazing (Their house brewed and bottled Iced Coffee is to die for) Friendly Staff Cons: The prices are a little on the high spectrum If you're a picky eater, the menu might seem a little limited My experiences: I've already been to this cafe twice already and it is well worth it. I love the atmosphere, the relaxed setting and the food is fresh. The scrambled eggs and bacon was delicious and the second time round I had the Dippy Eggs which were a fun concept and made me feel like a child again. Coffee is always good and well made. If this sounds like a place that will tickle your fancy, then definitely give them a try!

Kerry C.

Yelp
Lovely space. Amaze donuts. V good brownies. Delish hot chockies. Good eggs. Ok green tea. Friendly service. Parking tricky. Go there.

Dani H.

Yelp
I love this place, it's like your eating breakfast in someone's backyard, you forget where you are. I had the scrambled eggs which was delicious, not the best I've ever had but still great. I was so tempted to grab a bunch of their incredible looking baked goods on my way out but I didn't give in! the coffee was also pretty good I had a flat white, the Gold Coast is definitely maturing when it comes to good coffee and breakfast places.

Amanda Y.

Yelp
This is a really lovely place to go for breakfast/ Lunch. You can watch the people working away in the bakery while you wait in line to order. They have sweet treats in the counter window and make quite a good coffee. It's definitely a good place to go with friends to catch up over a meal, or just a muffin. It's mostly outdoor seating, but they don't let dogs in the gate, so don't plan on having your pet with you.

Mel C.

Yelp
Half an hour before I could order a $15 sandwich. Only 3 types of baked goods (butter chicken pie, sausage roll or a vego puff) and 3 types of sandwiches. $6 for a very small orange juice. I'm not sure how it's called a bakery when it is mostly breakfast foods. While in a nice setting overall it was all very underwhelming.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
My instagram feed has been saturated with pictures from Paddock Bakery and I can definitely see why. They are very insta worthy. Housed in an old Queenslander in Burleigh is this delightful bakery churning out some of the best breakfasts I've ever seen. They have a fresh, vibrant menu PLUS a baked goods cabinet that shakes up its selection each day. You've got the choice of indoor or outdoor seating but I recommend outdoor. Most of the tables are situated under trees meaning even on the hottest of days you'll have a shady seat to enjoy your meal. Relive your childhood and try their grown up version of dippy eggs. Served with sourdough soldiers, crispy bacon bits, labne and parsley it's a classy throwback. If runny eggs aren't your thing (shame on you!) you can grab the beetroot laden purple toast, bacon and egg roll on wood fired sourdough, acai bowls topped with their signature home made granola and fresh fruit or grab a donut if you want to go all american. Being the indecisive jerk that I am, I got two breakfast so I wouldn't have to deal with the regret of trying only one of the two that I wanted. As such, I can personally vouch for the dippy eggs AND the acai bowl. And because I had to make a second lunchtime trip I can also vouch for the pork, fennel and pistachio sausage roll and the cauliflower salad with cranberries and seeds. All you coffee lovers out there, don't fear that my review is yet to mention the good stuff. I had one of the best iced lattes of my life here and by all accounts their fresh pressed juices aren't half bad either. Detour here the next time you stop by the markets. You won't regret it.

Brenton C.

Yelp
Went here after seeing some good reviews, needless to say I was less than impressed with what was said to be one of the best bakeries.. I get they are going for a theme but would it kill them to use something that resembles cutlery I don't like being served my overpriced eggs in the carton they were Brought in.. Then to finish of with a stale donut while the flavours where good the texture wasn't... I would not recommend this to anyone
