We used Paddywagon Tours for our Ring of Kerry adventure and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The route was thoughtfully planned with absolutely breathtaking views and well-timed stops that allowed us to really take in the natural beauty of the region. Every location felt like it was chosen with care, and the scenery alone made the day well worth it.
Our driver did a solid job navigating what is clearly a very challenging route. You could tell he was still getting fully comfortable behind the wheel, but he handled the winding roads with care and professionalism. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a delay due to road construction, which caused a backup and slowed the trip down for a stretch, but of course that’s outside of the company’s control and a sign that they’re actively working to improve the area for future travelers.
The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that, while the logistics and driving were handled well, the tour lacked some of the storytelling and energy we had come to love from our previous Paddywagon experience at the Cliffs of Moher. That driver really brought the history and humor to life, keeping the entire group engaged and entertained throughout. In comparison, this tour felt a little more quiet and reserved.
That said, I still highly recommend Paddywagon Tours. It’s clear they put a lot of effort into hiring and training quality drivers, and the structure of their tours is excellent. With just a bit more energy and narrative from the guide, this would have been a five-star experience without question.
