We had a fantastic experience on the Paddywagon Tours Morning Glendalough & Wicklow Mountains Half Day Tour from Dublin. From start to finish, the trip was smooth, scenic, and genuinely memorable.
The tour began with a brief introduction to Dublin City before we headed south toward the Wicklow Mountains. The bus ride itself was a highlight. Comfortable, relaxing, and made even better by our driver, who was both educational and genuinely funny. He shared great stories, bits of history, and plenty of humor along the way, which made the journey feel personal and engaging. Passing Sugar Loaf Mountain and traveling through Ireland’s highest village, Roundwood, set the tone for a beautiful day in the “Garden of Ireland.”
Glendalough was absolutely stunning. We had two full hours to explore the valley, wander through the Monastic City, and take in the Celtic crosses, round tower, and peaceful wooded paths. The stroll along the river, with babbling brooks and crystal-clear cascades, was picture-perfect. It’s easy to see why this area has been featured in films like Braveheart and PS I Love You — the scenery feels like a real-life movie set.
The Wicklow Mountains were equally breathtaking, offering sweeping views and countless photo opportunities. The combination of natural beauty, history, and cinematic landscapes made this half-day tour feel incredibly rich and rewarding.
We returned to Dublin with great photos, new knowledge, and wonderful memories. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Ireland just outside the city, and especially enjoyable if you’re lucky enough to have a driver as entertaining and insightful as ours.
