Wonderful place to stay I was so impressed when we arrived we where shown how to get in the door and told all the little quirks about the house. The ladies are warm and friendly I had read a review that the breakfast wasn't enough but my husband and I found it to be abundant and absolutely yummy. Our room was cozy and beautifully done. Just a lovely place to stay. Do visit such a great place. We will return grateful for places like this.

My husband surprised me on our last night with a stay in this beautiful Inn. The hosts are most gracious. Called to let us know about the high tide and what to avoid when driving. Beautiful place to stay. The accommodations were first class. Each room has a name and decorative theme. I was so happy with our room, I didn't want to go out to dinner. Later we had coffee on the terrace. The furniture and bed are very comfortable. They made us breakfast of pumpkin spice waffles with candied ginger. As we told them about our plans for our final day they offered to let us keep our car, with all our luggage at the Inn. Again, gracious and thoughtful. The whole stay at the Inn was fantastic.

The pictures do not do the beauty of this historic home justice! Everything in the home was clean, working, and organized. The hosts were so kind and accommodating for every request we had, and they truly worked to make every detail of our stay as enjoyable as possible. As a bonus, the teas and breakfasts were delicious!

We were gifted a stay at The Page House for or wedding night recently by a family member. The staff was very polite to my mother in law on the phone but failed to mention that we needed to check out earlier than 11am due to some contractors coming in. They did not mention this when we arrived either so we were not aware. We wanted to enjoy every bit of the beautiful home and atmosphere so we decided to check out right at 11am the next morning and around 10:40 am we get a knock on our door asking if we are about ready to leave. It was shocking to say the least and made us feel like we they really wanted us out of there. When we came down the lady who runs the place told us the room had been made available to us with the stipulation that we checked out by 10:30 am. No one told us this so it was embarrassing and left a bad taste in our mouths about where we stayed on our wedding night. Aside from that, everything else was great: food was amazing and there were snacks and drinks available for guests. The home is gorgeous but the customer service needs some improvement specially when there are people on their wedding night staying there. It’s supposed to be special not stressful.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful time during our stay at the Page House Inn. We loved exploring the home and admiring the impeccable wood work and beautiful artwork present throughout the home. Our room was clean and incredibly comfortable - my fiancé even preferred the bed to our own! I personally loved the deep bathtub (Master Percy’s Suite) and spent the majority of our stay in it. The service was excellent - we appreciated all the little touches from complimentary sherry and snacks to a wonderful breakfast to end our trip. We will certainly be returning soon!

Every piece of my husband and I's stay at Page House Inn was exquisite. To begin, the home is elegant and classy while still being very comfortable and homey. You are treated like royalty and get to enjoy special amenities- port and sherry always on the coffee table, snacks and tea available at any hour, a second floor veranda, delicious gourmet breakfast and fancy coffee served at a specified time. The hosts are lovely and friendly, and the 3 shih tzus were such a fun highlight!! They were attuned to guest needs and took care to add in extra customized details and service. Location is ideal, as it's a stone's throw away from the Chrysler Art Museum and walking distance from the Elizabeth River Biking Trail and amazing restaurants. The rooms were spacious, grand, and cozy. I loved every bit of this and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful home in a lovely town. The caretaker was decent considering me and my boyfriend are unvaccinated and they allowed us to stay when normally they wouldn’t. While they contained their composure, they very obviously treated us different from other guests. One multiple occasions we thanked them for their service with no “your welcome” in response, but other visitors were treated with manners. My only complaints are that 1) The caretaker accosted us for showing up early for breakfast when we were just getting coffee, we were also trying to be respectful by not taking outside cups into our rooms, and 2) one morning around 7:30 I was tiptoeing to use the bathroom and was met with a pounding of the floor beneath me. These things left a sour taste in my mouth and led me to remove the very large tip I planned to leave from the envelope and leave a single quarter. That’s all they deserved. Breakfast was always amazing though and they have very cute dogs!! However I can very obviously see why they’re shutting down.

It’s unfortunate to have to write this review as my family has had a good experience here in the past, but this weekend was much different. It feels as if the hosts have lost their enthusiasm for providing warm hospitality. Many interactions with the hosts left us feeling awkward and almost unwelcome. The House and neighborhood are charming as ever, but the host experience left us all agreeing that it will be our last stay at the inn.
