"Pagua Bay House Oceanfront Cabanas Why we love it: A beachside oasis where stylish design meets natural beauty Highlights: - Amenities like hammocks, private patios, and outdoor soaking tubs - Lush grounds with a poolside grill - Friendly owners who will help plan your stay The Review: Set on a sugar-white beach just 10 minutes from Douglas-Charles Airport, this elegant property offers four cabanas and two suites, all positioned for bay views and cooling winds. Hardwood gleams throughout, punctuated by rich colors and textures. Expect refined touches like hammocks, private patios, and outdoor soaking tubs, as well as bathrooms with oversized showers and magnificent slab counters.Complete with sweeping Atlantic views and sleek industrial fixtures, the open-air restaurant focuses on farm-to-table fare, offering everything from handmade jams and baked goods to infused island rums. Vegetarians can look forward to dishes like coconut curry and dasheen (taro) puffs with aioli, while omnivores should try the shrimp fritters, ginger-glazed mahi-mahi, and slow-roasted local pork, which comes folded into a delectable sandwich. While prices here are on the steeper side forDominica, the hotel’s style, elegance, and personalized service make it worth the splurge. Owners Rick and Alicia will happily help with itineraries and arrangements, as well as loan beach chairs, snorkeling gear, and equipment for river tubing. For excitement closer to your room, there’s a cornhole set on the lawn and some of the country’s most legendary rum punch. Non-guests are welcome at the pool and restaurant for a minimum spend of US$20."
"This industrial-chic eatery has a covered patio and floor-to-ceiling doors that welcome good weather inside, all overlooking the ocean on Dominica’s east coast. Pagua Bay puts a strong emphasis on seasonal, farm-to-table fare—a commitment made trickier by Hurricane Maria’s destruction in autumn 2017. Still, the restaurant continues to serve reliable American fare with Caribbean twists, including ceviche, goat tacos, chicken Creole, and mahi-mahi salsa. Wash it all down with a frosty beer or coconut rum punch."
Very simply put, it doesn't look like on the website. This place needs a pimp up. We had places in Dominica where we paid less and felt more comfortable. The breakfast indeed was good. Thank you. The room was a bit dark, not enough windows. Otherwise things are ok. Please be aware that the beach at the moment is full of sargassum algae and you can smell it.

Love this spot! Although a little pricey but not too bad, it was incredibly delicious and you have a beautiful view of the ocean. Quiet in early October for breakfast. I ordered the everything bagel sandwich, chai latte and fresh juice of starfruit and golden apple. Everything was really tasty. Only bummer was that the espresso machine was broken so I couldn't get an actual latte but the server gave me some coffee to add. Thank you!

Top-tier dining experience. Perfectly prepared local cuisine. Fresh and deliciously seasoned. Many homemade items like yogurt, ice cream and fresh juices. This restaurant sets itself apart from all the other restaurants on the island in one word: "quality".

Spicy Margarita is one of the best Margaritas I have ever had. A perfect combination of Scotch Bonnet heat, citrus intensity and sweetness. If you have one, I will bet you will have two...

We've been there several times in the early evening. Very pleasant setting, lulled by the sound of the waves, where you feel really relaxed.
The staff are friendly and the service is fast.
The menu doesn't vary, but what's on offer is tasty.
For starters, I recommend the calalou soup, which is excellent.
The cocktails are good.
For the main course... the fish of the day, a succulent dish accompanied by equally delicious local starches.
Desserts are rather classic but well executed.
I highly recommend

Not impressed. The only thing I almost enjoyed was the potatoes. The fish tasted fresh and unseasoned. Very disappointing after taking such a long drive to eat here. Also the pool was dirty. Would not recommend, although the staff were nice. New chef needed asap
