To start, the service is amazing with Ace E being so helpful and compassionate. He made sure that our food arrived timely, and gave me hot water for the cold. The food is incredible, with our favourites of the Massaman Curry and the Pork Skewers. We ordered extras to takeout for our families to try as well! Lastly, the atmosphere of the restaurant is great for a date, as the space was spacious and it was not too loud so my friend and I could enjoy our conversations. The washrooms were also clean and spacious as well! Overall, we had an amazing time and thank you again to Ace for making the night a fun and memorable night!

Google
Amazing food, the staff were very friendly and welcoming . Every menu item I ordered was mind blowing. These authentic home made dishes were all amazing. The taste was extremely flavourful and all ingredients were made fresh. I would totally recommend the SINGHA draft beer from Thailand. Started off with the hot spring rolls, Moo Ping pork skewers, gai satay chicken skewers, Chicken pad see ew, khao pad baan nok stir fried beef rice. The coconut Sorbet desert is a must! tasty and savoury. Thursday and Saturday evenings they have live entertainment I would recommend trying this location and can’t wait to return to try more.

Google
Amazing food! Everything was very flavourful, fresh and decent portion sizes Each dish was packed with flavours, but not overpowering. Very savoury. Most dishes are best if shared My top pick would be the Moo-Ping skewers. Super savoury, flavourful, sweet and tangy The Gai Satay were delicious, but would still choose the pork ones We got the chicken pad sew ew which was delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The beef khao pad baan nok was a stir fried rice- would have paired well with the skewers. The spring rolls were very crunchy! For dessert the coconut sorbet is a must, huge portion! Super coconut-y, yet light Server was friendly and attentive. We went at an off time so it wasn’t too busy Definitely will return

PAI: An Unforgettable Taste of Northern Thailand! If you're searching for authentic, flavor-packed Thai food in Toronto, look no further than PAI Northern Thai Kitchen. This vibrant, bustling spot has become our absolute go-to for satisfying those Thai food cravings, and it never disappoints. From the moment you step inside, the energetic atmosphere and aromatic spices set the stage for an incredible meal. We started with the Pad See Ew—a perfect balance of smoky, sweet, and savory flavors, with tender noodles, fresh greens, and our protein of choice cooked just right. The fried rice was equally amazing, fragrant and full of depth. But the real standout was the braised oxtail—falling-off-the-bone tender, rich, and deeply satisfying. Each dish showcased the kitchen's mastery of Northern Thai flavors. The staff were attentive and kind, quickly refilling water and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Whether you're a Thai food enthusiast or new to the cuisine, PAI is a must-visit. We can't wait to return and explore more of the menu!

Google
It was my second visit, and the food was quite enjoyable. We tried their signature dishes, khao soi and pad thai with chicken wings, along with a pai colada, all of which were worth it. The service was good, and although the tables are close together, especially those for two which makes atmosphere bit nosiy

Google
Had the most incredible time finally visiting after always hearing great things about this place for so many years. Our server Ben truly went above and beyond to make this a memorable and enjoyable experience. He was courteous, super helpful with recommendations, constantly made sure we had everything we needed, served us with a smile right throughout the evening and also got us free chili-oil as we were celebrating multiple milestones. The food was delicious, portions were great and presented quite well. The best Vegan Khao Soi I’ve had so far and I cannot wait to be back again. Almost everything on their menu can be made Vegan/Vegetarian so that’s always wonderful to see. The Thai Iced Tea was refreshing too. Overall a 10/10 experience. I’m sure the entire staff is good at what they do but I hope you get Ben - he was simply outstanding!

Google
Went here after seeing all the good reviews but honestly, I was disappointed. The Pad Thai noodles were soggy, and the red curry was extremely salty and tangy. Portions were quite small for the price, and the food took longer than expected to arrive. The only thing I genuinely liked was the ambiance, the place looks nice and has a good vibe, but the food didn’t match the hype.

Google
First time to try the PAI uptown and we loved it dishes are great similar to the downtown one. Staff very very friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for the dishes. The interior is beautiful and has a nice aesthetic. There are many seats available and there is also a second floor where you’re able to book a private section or room as well. We ordered the Khao Soi and Pad Gra Prow super delicious we’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to coming here considering the hype I've seen online Lively atmosphere ~ LEGIT Thai food confirmed by actual Thai residents (that I know) ~ high quality ingredients, great presentation ~ relaxed and fun ambience ( you can find me on IG @aida.loves )

Yelp
It seems the two dishes I tried here were missing a couple of significant spices, ingredients and flavours in usual Thai dishes just to be "safe" and appealing to the western masses. E.g., my family and I found the beef salad very bland - it didn't have enough lime like the actual Nam Tok. The beef is grilled but stone cold when served, and it lacked all the grilled flavours but just like plastic sitting on the blood-soaked cabbage and lettuce. Koh soi had the same issue - the flavours were a lot more lacking compared to other northern Thai places like BKK on Yonge & Steeles, in which BKK's koh soi was not only sweet, but with punches from the lime, lots of pickled vegetables and layers of spices. Pai's koi soi was mostly just sweet, and as a result, it was very cloying by the end of it. Also the beef chunks were rather tough - they should've been braised to the point that they would melt in your mouth instantly. My family did not feel very good at the end of the meal. Honestly, I don't think the food was THAT bad, but it was just mid at best. In addition, every dish here was about dollars pricier than other authentic Thai restaurants, but the quality and quantity were both lacking. I was not very happy about that. Shout out to Brandon doe - great kuya server, and yes - the interior was great and beautiful. But I just had so much anticipation for this place and the food was SUCH a letdown. It's a restaurant at the end and they really need to step up the game for the food.

Yelp
Pai was as good as it was advertised on a travel vlog that I watched on YouTube. When you first arrive, you wouldn't really know that it was a restaurant. The doorway was small and kind of hidden and once you enter the building, you go downstairs. Once you walk in, the whole atmosphere changes and it's like you're in a tropical hawker stall without the humidity. I really enjoyed each dish. The portions were decent, the flavors were to perfection, service was friendly and the pricing was reasonable. Out of all the appetizers, the Shrimp chips had such an addictive flavor and I just kept chomping on it. The Pad Thai, Khao Soi, Thai tea, shrimp chips were all so good. If I lived any closer, I would want to visit everyday and try all their dishes at least once. I didn't get the coconut sorbet, but when I saw the price I was shocked because it was so pricey. When it came out, I understood why now .. it was humongous and so delicious. Until next time Toronto!

Yelp
Came to try the Summerlicious after a long hiatus from this location. This location has a cavern feel. There is a stage in the middle of the restaurant The Thai ice tea was too sweet. Tried the mango slaw salad, khao soi with beef, pad thai and coconut gelato. The khao soi broth had good flavour and was as expected but nothing extraordinary. The beef meat they used was not very tender. Pad Thai similarly unimpressive. These basic Thai dishes should be way better than this. I've had more authentic Thai dishes elsewhere. I think this place had better dishes when they started years ago.

Yelp
Went here for a girls date with one of my friends and it was lovely, the staff were attentive and very responsive to requests. The food came quickly and everything was hot and fresh, drinks were a hit so refreshing and still really good for a mocktail. The wings were delicious very crispy and juicy the sauce they paired with it complimented it very well it was sweet with a slight heat but very flavourful, the pad see ew was a hit noodles were perfectly chewy and packed with flavour all the veggies were cooked well the chili oil was the perfection addition of heat wasn't over powering, the KHAO SOI was the perfect dish the noodles were also perfectly cooked the broth was rich and creamy packed with flavour a bit spicy but it was balanced out by the other flavours. Over all great experience and I will defeintly be back 10/10

Yelp
Pai, I'm impressed! To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of their downtown location, but my friend was adamant on this restaurant (blame nostalgia) and so came for dinner on a weekday night. Upon entering I was struck at once by the grand, spacious room with high ceilings and seating that was not crowded at all by any stretch of the imagination - a huge contrast to their original spot where you had to maneuver cautiously past the tightly packed tables. There were some beautiful decorations too, including a drum-set on a small stage at the front of the room (are there performances here occasionally?) and various Thai-inspired lights and fixtures. My friend immediately ordered her obsession, the beef noodle soup, while I had the fried rice to satiate a carb craving. It. Was. Amazing! The rice was cooked to perfection - soft and savoury and not too oily - as was the tofu, just the right degree of firmness and with phenomenal flavours. The fantastic variety of vegetables even made it seem quite healthy! I was also especially pleased with the service we received here. Our waiter was extremely friendly and welcoming, making casual conversation with us and not hesitating to answer our questions about the menu. Needless to say, we didn't have any trouble getting our water refilled or waving down the bill at the end of the night. A bit of an unexpected find for me! Pai has made me fall in love with this location...which is calling my name even as I write this review.

Yelp
Lots of variety! Everything is so well thought out, the green curry was very flavourful. The papaya salad is refreshing and had some crunchy shrimp crackers and chichiron to pair it with. We went on a weekday and they had a cocktail special. Everyday there is a special deal so keep an eye out for that. The sun was setting during this time and so it got really hot and the sun was in my eyes majority of the time. It made the dining experience not as enjoyable.

Yelp
We went to PAI for Winterlicious 2025, and it was a great way to try some of their dishes! We started with the Tom Yum Goong and Mango Slaw. The soup had a really nice balance of spice and tang, with juicy shrimp and a super flavorful broth. The mango slaw was light and refreshing--sweet, sour, and a little spicy, which made it a nice contrast to the soup. For mains, we got the Khao Soi and Green Curry with chicken. Both were tasty, but my mom and I found them a bit on the sweeter side for our taste. The Green Curry was beautifully served in a coconut, with extra sauce in a side bowl, which was a nice touch. The curry itself was rich and fragrant, but the sliced chicken was a little dry. The Khao Soi had a creamy, comforting broth, and the crispy noodles on top added a great texture. For dessert, we both got the Steamed Cassava Cake, which was soft, slightly chewy, and just the right amount of sweet. A simple but satisfying way to end the meal! Overall, everything was delicious, and the service was great. Some dishes were a little sweeter than we prefer, but it was still a solid meal.

Yelp
3.5 overall. You have high expectations from a Michelin restaurant. This one is good but not my favourite thai! What I like about pai- a lot of vegan options, a huge dining area, good service! This time I tried beetle leaf salad ( vegan) and it was delicious; unique but not sure if the price was doing the justice to the quantity. Next was vegan Tom yum big serving, came with Rice . It was okay, there was something missing but they accepted our feedback and took it back. Sign of a good service. For my mains I ordered vegan pad gra paw( omni pork) it was exceptionally good! Delicious! Hubby did chicken Penang curry it was okay. We also ordered lychee Sherly Temple which came after we were done with dinner, but the server themselves was aware and asked if I still want it. I really appreciate my server for cognitive and kind service. I ended up having it as my dessert lol, cos my 5 year old was waiting for it. And it was very nice as well.

Yelp
Visiting Toronto, we were suggested by two locals to try Pai, claiming to be the "best" Thai food they ever had. I loved seeing the pictures of the history of the restaurant on the walls and reading that a lot of heart and soul went into it. There weren't reservations available, but we were sat within 20 min from when we were added to the wait list. While we waited I ordered a boozy Thai iced tea, and let me tell you that was my favorite part. The vibe is trendy with various music like Bob Marley playing. I may have had my standards too high considering this restaurant was on a Michelin guide two years. My dish was okay, but it wasn't the best Thai I ever had. All things considering I'd def go back if I were in Toronto to give more dishes a try!

Yelp
Came here with my boyfriend for the last day of Summerlicious yesterday and left full and satisfied! It was $34pp before tax and tips. I chose the starter tom yum goong as my starter and I was not a huge fan of the taste (I'm usually good with tom yum) but still a great starter. I chose Chef Nuit Pad Thai with tofu and veggies and it was SO GOOD. Compared to the one with chicken, the sauce seems to have more tamarind flavour compared to soy sauce and it was so so good. The portion was generous and it came out piping hot. I love the cauliflower and broccoli they added. For dessert, I got the ruam mit, and it was so refreshing and tasty. I loved the pieces of jackfruit and lychee swimming in coconut milk. So so good. Because they were quite busy, it did take a while for the food to come out. However, it was still a great experience and the service was great.

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant is very unique and gives a quite fun vibe. Lots of seating area surrounded by a funky decor. The food is very tasty but a bit pricy. Overall, a decent Thai restaurant but I can't think of it as my go-to spot.

Yelp
We were just walking by the restaurant and decided to give it a try. I guess the signage in the street encouraged us to go up the stairs to the second floor. So surprised we still had to wait at 9pm on a Wed, This spot is an interesting mix of traditional Thai with a modern vibe. The food is very tasty. The curry was in a small coconut and for $2 we got shrimp which is nice. However we did find the portions a bit on the smaller side. The pad see ew with the hand pulled noodles was also tasty but like the curry, was a bit on the small side (size of the portions).

Yelp
We came here with family on a Saturday and was hyped up for the food. However, the food was not great. The Tom Yum soup was cold when it was first served. The ladle didn't fit and the dish the soup was in was awkward and didn't warm up the soup properly. They did attempt to reheat the soup, but the vibe of the meal was pretty much finished and was ruined. The only item that was good was the skewers as it was flavourful and juicy. The waitress didn't seem friendly nor seemed like she wanted to be there. I wouldn't come back here again.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try Pai for a while but was less interested in the crowds and lineups, fortunately there is a location midtown (Yonge and Eglinton)! Was able to make reservations in advance and there is no limited dining time like some other places have. Located upstairs of The Rose and Crown you can easily walk by the entrance which is a white door with the name of the restaurant painted in black. From here you head upstairs (I did not see an elevator) to the restaurant. The space is really big and there is actually a third level where there is additional seating. There is a paper menu but as with most restaurants they also have a bar code to take you to the menu. Menu covers the expected, Pad Thai, variety of curries etc. There is a selection with Chef Nuit's favorites and there are a number of items on the menu that are only available after 4 pm. Good drinks menu both alcoholic and non alcoholic. What was ordered: Spring rolls Thai chicken wings Pad Thai with Chicken Pad See Eww Thai Grilled Chicken with Mango Slaw 2 Thai Ice Teas and a Mango Shirley Temple Food came quickly and was good. I would say it was comparable to Koh Lipe. Service style here is very casual. Our server gave off the air of surfer bar dude and unfortunately the service level matched. After pouring our waters and being told we needed a few more minutes he disappeared. We finally had to flag another server down. I would often look around and he was nowhere to be seen. This being said we were there 2 hours and did not feel rushed. When we left there were lots of tables available. Excellent place for groups! Payment is debit or credit only. No cash. They have a little stage with a drum set so there is probably live music some nights?

Yelp
I loved the Pai restaurant downtown so much that only days later, I went to the one around Yonge and Eglinton as well, and the experience was just as fantastic! I ordered the guava drink again, but decided to try something new with the food, and went with a Chef Nuit Pad Thai with both chicken and shrimp. The food was tasty and full of flavour, and the portion was decent as well. The ambiance is nice at this location as well - I could picture it being a place you could go to with anyone and in any setting. The restaurant was very busy, so it took a very tiny bit longer than I expected to get my food, but that still didn't deter me from giving this a place a 5-star rating. Pai has to be one of my favourite restaurants in all of Toronto, and I'd love to go back again!

Yelp
My friend took me here for a surprise dinner. I have been to the downtown location and I heard that there was another one in midtown, so I was happy that I would be able to have a great time eating and chatting with my friend. The vibe felt very different due to the decor- it was decorated as if you were visiting a marketplace. I loved seeing the warm glow of light fixtures (that looked like paper lanterns) and traditional market signages. A staff member at the entrance warmly greeted us and took my friend's name down (as there was a bit of a wait). A few minutes later, another staff came to show us our seats. We were seated at the middle of the place, so we were able to admire the entire area. Our waitress was a young friendly lady with cool tattoos. She warmly greeted us and gave us some time to settle in and read the menu. To start, we decided to order an appetizer, Grabong. For drinks, my friend ordered The Lowry and I ordered Thai Iced Tea. For the main, he ordered Pad Gra Prow (with Tofu) and I ordered Gaeng Massaman (with shrimps). Everything was delicious- the appetizer was crispy, the drinks were fresh, and the main dishes were full of flavour. During our meal, our waitress came by to check-in on us and to make sure that our food was as per our expectations. The portion size was just right- at the end of the evening, we were full and happy. A great option if you're in the midtown area!

Yelp
Pai is such a well known restaurant so it was great to see a location in mid-town which saved a trip downtown. We had the Kao Soi, pad Thai, massaman curry and Thai salad. All the dishes were excellent. Prices are starting to get high but overall a good place for Thai food
google avatar

Janice R.

Yelp
Very yummy Thai food. We ordered the gaeng panang curry, pad see ew, and khao pad baan nok. We went to location in uptown and the space itself was large with 2 levels for dining. The service was quick and our server had timely check ins. A great spot to get your Thai fix in.

Yelp
Love this place!! I've never been to the downtown location so I can't say if it's the same or better but since Pai's midtown location is more convenient for me, I just end up here! The food never disappoints. While portion sizes may seem small when they arrive at your table, I always find myself surprisingly full! My favourite is their beef salad: tangy, sweet, spicy and fresh. Literally everything I look for in a dish! I also enjoyed the Penang curry which came with a side of rice. The curry is rich but not too heavy. A great option as an entree. Often times when a restaurant is really popular, people might say it's overhyped. I see that with some restaurants but I do think Pai deserves all its flowers

Olivia L.

Yelp
Cool decor. First time trying yum kanom jeen and it was yummy! Gai satay is a safe choice.

Yelp
Authentic and delicious food. Wonderful service. Fun atmosphere. Great value. We will be back soon!

Yelp
Ambiance was good, we group of friends went on saturday afternoon, it was not that busy but if you try it on evenings, you might have to wait for 40mins to 90mins.

Yelp
We finally went to try Pai but at their location in uptown. We walked in and it's a bit dark, however we walked Ip the stairs and we entered into a very trendy and modern place. We made a reservation to celebrate a milestone. And we were seated in a quiet corner that allows for wife and I to chat. Since it was the Summerlicious event, we chose food from this set course menu. And we were treated to a tasty surprise. Food is great, we ordered a bunch of different stuff to try. All their food is tasty and flavourful. I simply can't describe it all here. Will come back for another time.
google avatar

Yelp
Good Northern Thai restaurant. Nothing here blows me away but it's convenient, especially if I eat early. It gets busy and popping on weekend nights. The menu is not huge but has the basics. I like the mango salad and chicken skewers. The Pad Thai is ok, there is better out there. This place is more of a club than a restaurant, so go to have fun.
google avatar

Eileen L.

Yelp
I came here in a small group of 3 for weekend lunch but we could only secure bar seating since we did walk in. The restaurant is upstairs with elevator or stairs access. The atmosphere is great with unique decor similar to the downtown location. We got the oxtail, the fried squash fritter, and the khao soi with beef. Everything was good, on the sweeter side. Servers were nice. There is a lot of seating but since this was mentioned on the Michelin guide I highly recommend you reserve in advance.
google avatar

Mellanie P.

Yelp
Been to this location a number of times now, both take out and dine in. I like how this location is more spacious than than the downtown location. We came for lunch during this visit and we're seated and served our meals pretty quickly considering how many people were around. The only thing that I wish was available were some of the dishes on the menu that are only served after lunchtime. I totally understand why, but some of those go to dishes are on that menu during those times. This was our first time trying the Tom yum and it was delicious and served with a burner under so it could stay warm which was a nice feature. Some other favourites, the pad Thai, pad gra prow -crispy pork belly, grabong. We didn't order it this time but the masaman curry is also a go to. Still a favourite spot, and recommend to anyone wanting to have some Thai food!
google avatar

Sue J.

Yelp
We went to this location because people lived up north. We ordered some skewers and chicken wings which were decent. I ordered the Tom yom soup that came out literally cold. The soup bowl was super awkwardly shaped with a flame underneath it, and the ladle could not even go in. The server warmed it up for us but it was kinda over at that point. The other dishes were good but not amazing - Kao soi, pad Thai etc. coconut water had a weird sweet artificial flavour. Likely would not go back. Not sure if it's because of this location but it was quite disappointing.
google avatar

Harshini R.

Yelp
Very lively spot that can be pretty loud, just in case that's not what you're looking for. We had an 8:30 pm reservation and got seated fairly quickly. The service was relatively slow as well and they were starting to run out of certain ingredients and dishes. I got the Thai espresso martini, which was like dessert in a glass. So good! For food, we got the vegetarian pad Thai and beef khao soi. Both entrees were large portions and plenty of food for us. The khao soi had a lot of meat in it and they don't skimp on the good stuff. I would definitely go back to try more dishes. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is cause of the slow service and the fact that the Summerlicious menu isn't worth it. Depending on what you end up getting, the Summerlicious works out more expensive than the sum of the individual dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
My family had dinner here and everything was great! The restaurant is on two floors, and the inside is very interesting and eclectic - nice atmosphere. We had a very nice waiter and the pad thai is still as delicious as ever! The mango salad was great too.My daughter said Thai food is the best food! A sure sign of a successful meal.

Yelp
3.5 stars (I had to reduce the score for the beef) The downtown location of Pai is congested and bustling. This uptown location is airy and calm. This is such a lovely open space over two floors. First you need to either take an elevator or stairs to go up to the lower level of this restaurant. Ask for a table with a window view as that looked like the best seat in the house! We were seated next to the stage which was good too. They are good with allergies which is always appreciated. We had: Mango slaw Pad Thai Beef Panang curry with jasmine rice The only flaw was that the beef itself was overcooked. Loads of individual washrooms. Could have used a tidying. I would definitely give it another chance as we have really enjoyed Pai and this location is closer to home.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to Pai and the first time to this location at Yonge and Eglinton. It's a really nice place, upstairs from street level. The entrance doesn't give away much of what to expect once you get upstairs. The decor is beautiful, and so well done. It's like a street market. Great ambiance! We had the Gaeng Hunglay (Oxtail), which was so tender and flavourful! We loved it! We also had the Pad See Ew with Tofu. The hand-cut noodles looked rustic and had lots of flavour. Great dish! I have never been disappointed with the food at Pai, one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. My dining companion, visiting from Vancouver, was impressed. If you love Thai food, this is one of the best places in Toronto!

Yelp
I had really high hopes for PAI since I had been hearing really good things about it for a while. When I finally got the chance to go, I ended up being quite underwhelmed with the whole experience. The restaurant interior was probably the most notable part, with colourful art pieces and a stage for live music (presumably). The service was okay, a bit slow despite there not having been many patrons. The biggest disappointment for me was the food, it was quite plain, had very basic presentation, and was overpriced.

Yelp
Visited here again July 2023. Food is still good. I prefer this location over the downtown location, it's more spacious and open and tall floor to ceiling windows letting lots of natural light in. Pad Thai is delicious. The oxtail curry was so so. This item was on the menu many years ago and now its back. It's not as good as it used to. PAI food taste is great. Price is quite high for the small portion size.

Yelp
Got reservations for Pai Uptown about 3 weeks in advance. The downtown location always seems booked out, but I didn't mind taking a quick ride from the downtown area to check this place out, as I'd heard a lot of great things. Inside is definitely a vibe. The place has a simple, but colorful aesthetic with lanterns across the ceiling and walls covered with artwork. But, the biggest thing I noticed was the amount of natural light coming through the large front windows, which I thought was nice. We made it in time for happy hour. Each drink was only $5 with your favorite liquor and soda combination. We thought this was a great deal and ended up getting several rounds by the end. For the food, we went straight for the chef's choice on the menu. First we got the Pad Thai with beef. It was honestly flavorful and delicious. However, the one issue we had was that the beef was a little tough and we felt like it was a bit of distraction from an otherwise solid dish. Next was the Khao Soi. I would honestly come back for this one. It was rich and creamy. I find that many of the Thai curries I've had tend to feel a little watered down, but there was something about the consistency here that hit right. There was also a seemingly generous amount of shrimp. The noodles were great, and the fried noodles on the side were a nice touch and fun to crunch on. By the end, we found ourselves taking in spoonfuls of just the curry which is a good indication of how tasty it was. We tried to end the meal with some classic mango sticky rice, however, they'd already run out and it was only 7pm. We were a little disappointed in that, but it was still a great experience. Overall, I recommend checking out Pai. The food is delicious and definitely worth trying. The staff was also friendly, being very responsive on such a busy night like we went.

Being a Thai fan, Pai is my overall favorite restaurant in town. They are usually packed, so be prepared to wait for about 15 - 20 mins on the lower end, but trust me it's worth the wait! You definitely cannot beat their basil chicken (I think it's called pad gra prow), its really flavorful chicken with jasmine rice, cucumber, fried egg and some vinegary sauce on the side. I've also tried their Panang chicken curry and their chicken wings. Both are delicious.

Yelp
Finally tried Pai and can confirm that it's worth the hype. Their food may be on the pricy side, but their pad Thai is the best I've ever had in the GTA. The decor is also beautiful with a Thai street ambiance. Being near Yonge and Eglinton, it's not easy to find good cheap parking. Service was friendly and helpful. This restaurant can get really busy so try to go during off peak hours.

Yelp
Very underwhelmed going here. I've heard nothing but great things about Pai, and didn't get the chance to come here last year when I was in Toronto. Finally made reservations and came here on a date. First off - they don't provide chopsticks immediately. You have to ask for it which I found a bit odd and not very authentic. Secondly, the food here (at least what we ordered) was very mid. Nothing really tasted out of the ordinary and it was a big basic if you asked me. I'm not sure if ordering "non Northern Thai" dishes could've been the problem, but all-in-all I didn't love my meal all that much. They also only had chili flakes and how no chili paste. I asked for chili oil however and I guess that was an okay substitute. Lastly - the price point is way too high for me to ever want to return back. Pad See Ew for over $25 with the beef? Yeah I'll pass. After eating here, an Asian guy told me this is an elevated Thai place for White people. I thought that was funny, but now I can see why.

Yelp
Great food. Pad Thai I order anywhere else is usually a gummy, matted and pasty mess. NOT HERE!! Best Pad Thai anywhere. And I went back two days later and had it again and was able to update this post with a pic!!

Yelp
We have been planning our trip to Toronto for some time and on the top of our list was Pai Northern! We couldn't get in at the downtown location but were able to secure a spot at the Uptown location so all in all we were happy! Upon walking in, it was super trendy and the vibe was just right! They had some great music playing and we were excited. I didn't quite like they I got seated right in front of the DJ stage and he was setting up but hey... totally not the end of the world! The service was ok! Our waitress seemed extremely flustered and it took awhile for her to come and take our orders and she rarely checked back in with us. but she was very nice and you can tell she was just swamped! Alright, now let's get to the food! i went into this knowing that its Northern Thai food and might be a little different than the typical Thai we are used to! we ordered the crispy garlic shrimp as an app, pad thai and pad see ew. The appetizer was delicious, came out hot and had lots of flavor! Immediately we are thinking alright this is a good start! The food came out and underwhelming is a good place to call it. The Pad Thai noodles were undercooked by atleast 2 min and were so chewy! There was barely any chicken in it either. The flavors were good but the dish just lacked finesse that I would expect in a restaurant such as this! The Pad See Ew was good but I ordered chicken and shrimp and the dish only came with shrimp. The waitress fixed it and just removed the cost for chicken. Not a problem. My issue with this dish is the egg in it was overwhelmed and just didn't taste right. They had an odd taste and smell to them. Needless to say I got sick later that evening and through our travels home the next day. Not saying it's from that, but.. All in all-- our hopes were so high but our experience was just a big let down and I don't think we would try this place again next time we are in Toronto!

Yelp
I forgot to take a pic of the food!! Omg it was heavenly! I feel like I can't remember the last time I got Thai that wasn't gooey, soggy, overcooked noodles that coagulated together into one mass. This place was incredible. I had the pad see ew. Get it! That lychee cocktail was super good, too.

Yelp
This was my first time at the uptown location of Pai. I've been to their downtown location a number of times which is often a long wait and cramped in space. In comparison, Pai uptown is very large and spacious. The interior is beautifully done. What I got: - Kung Tawt Garlic Shrimp with Tamarind Sauce - Pad See Ew with beef - Pad Gra Prow with crispy pork Final Thoughts: The main dishes were a much larger portion than I expected so by the end of the dish things began tasting very one note. I'd suggest going family style so you have a variety of flavors. The pad see ew had soft chewy noodles and was quite flavorful. The pad gra prow had chunks of pork belly throughout and the garlic shrimp with sweet tamarind sauce was a great starter. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Have been here multiples (also tried the location downtown) and the food has always been great. It is pricier though but for the portion and quality of food, I haven't been disappointed so far. Got the khao soi, krapow, and pad see ew. Khao soi had a good coconut flavour and it had a bit of kick in it but it was still enjoyable even though my dad can't handle spicy that well. I always get the krapow and it still had a solid, consistent flavour as last time. And the pad see ew which my sis really liked. Unfortunately, they didn't have Thai iced tea (we came right as it opens so maybe they haven't made any yet?). Would come back here again and maybe try other dishes.

Yelp
Came here to try their Winterlicious menu and to celebrate a birthday 2023. They were Huge portions and the flavours of the food was good. Great to share. We all enjoyed the dishes we try; grabong, laab salad, mango salad, rice dishes, curry and khao soi. All the apps are worth trying and they come in huge shareable serving. My favourite would be the khao soi! So creamy and flavourful. The desserts were ok. Nothing too special. We also ordered some drinks and cocktails - some were stronger than others and tasted better. The one drink that stood out was the espresso martini - it was good. Ask if there are any specials for the day. Service was good, they were able to accommodate our group of 10. Note there is a cake cutting fee charged per person if you bring in a cake. Overall, great Thai place, will def come back when craving Thai food!

Yelp
Iconic Thai restaurant in Toronto known for its modern spin on Thai food. Fans of "Worth It" are eagerly waiting to get in. Just kidding! Reservations are suggested. We arrived early evening on a weekday. Decor is hip with easy listening classic rock playing in the background. Ordered was a shareable appetizer of Mango Slaw and an entree of Pad Gra Prow and an entree of Khao Soi both with tofu as the protein of choice. The Mango Slaw was good. A bit heavy on the vinaigrette which overpowered the mango. The Pad Gra Prow was ok. I've had better. The Khao Soi had a nicely flavored broth but it was a bit odd that the tofu was not really incorporated into the dish but rather placed atop. Hype? I think so. It was meh.

Yelp
I like this location a lot more than the one at Duncan because it has a really big window which lets the sunlight in! The ambiance is really nice. The entrance to the restaurant is a bit hidden though as it is just a door with a sign pointing to it. The stairwell is pretty dark and the restaurant is upstairs. It gets busy around 1-2pm I would say. I reserved online which was really convenient. I was seated immediately and the servers were very kind and attentive while I waited for my friends. They were very patient with us even though my friends were 40 minutes late. My friends ordered the pai colada and the thai shirley temple. Both were quite fruity and nice, not too sweet. The pai colada in my opinion had a really strong fragrant aftertaste. We came for the summerlicious menu and it was better than I expected! My friend is vegetarian so she really appreciated the options on the menu being easily changed to be vegetarian. The spring rolls were tasty and bigger than I expected, it had a strong mushroom taste. My khao soi was very good, and I was pleasantly surprised at how soft the beef was! The portion was huge and I couldn't finish it. My friend's fried rice was also very tasty! The chinese broccoli was a bit too bitter for all of us though. Will definitely come back to order the fried rice because it was tastier than I expected. For desert, we had the thai tea gelato. Unfortunately the mango-coconut mousse cake was sold out when we went, but the thai tea gelato was super good! It has a very strong thai tea flavour and isn't overly sweet. I recommend it! Overall, a really good meal with no complaints! Service was great, and food was better than expected. Hoping to go again soon :)

Yelp
I've been to their dt location and now this place and honestly, they're both equally good! Massive space with really cool decors and lots of seats. We were seated immediately as we had a reservation. Pai sangria - perfection. Appetizers - perfection. Khao soi - you guessed it, also perfection! Incredible flavours, texture and so tasty - they were able to accommodate for our peanut allergy. As well, the serving sizes were massive and I loved that since this isn't a cheap place The wait staff was friendly and fast! Nothing bad to say about this place - make sure you give it a try if possible!

Yelp
Honestly I always thought Thai food sucked because of my experiences in Toronto but then my Wife brought me to Pai and I couldn't believe how good it was! Finally I understand why everyone is raving over Thai food! Also our server Victoria was excellent, she was serving about 10 tables at the time we came in, and she still was calm and collective! Very pleasant experience because of Victoria and the food was awesome too (shouts out to the chef )! For sure will be back!
