Salmon Quiche was the nicest among the things bought. It’s fresh and has generous filling of salmon. Chocolate eclair is on a sweeter note, while cafe latte has very light coffee taste and strong milk taste instead. Pain suisse and mini croissant are both average and not as flaky as I thought it would be.

Went for breakfast before walking through Montmarte. We tried a lovely spread that included quiche, chicken sandwiches, tomato & olive bread, eclairs, and baba au rhum. While everything was enjoyable, a few items truly stood out. The eclairs were absolutely delightful—light, perfectly filled, and just the right amount of sweetness. The baba au rhum was a standout as well: rich, indulgent, and soaked to perfection without being soggy. And the tomato & olive bread? Incredibly flavorful, with a rustic crust and savory depth that made it impossible to stop at just one slice. A well-rounded experience, but those three items alone make it worth a return visit.

It’s famous for a reason. Fantastic pastries. Get the croissant and the speculoos eclair. Super light and delicious and very quick friendly service.

A charming pastry shop that truly delivers on flavor and freshness. I tried their flan and éclair — both were absolutely delicious, with perfect textures and rich taste. You can tell they’re freshly made with quality ingredients. A must-visit spot for pastry lovers in Paris.

Lines can stretch outside, but it’s worth the wait. Pain Pain serves up a stunning variety of fresh quiches, pastries, and sandwiches in a bright, floral interior. The energy is vibrant, the service smooth despite the crowd, and everything looks tempting.

Everything looked so good, it was hard to choose! We especially recommend the almond pain au chocolate, but everything looked very good⭐️ Breakfast for to people with coffee was about 25 euros👍🏼

Google
I got a pain au chocolate, a chocolate eclaire, and an opera pastry and all were great! It's a cute little spot and perfect to grab something before the hike up the stairs. The workers were a little rude but with seeing tourists all the time, I kind of understand. Definitely recommend a visit.

Yelp
A beautiful little shop close to our Airbnb! We got a cafe Americano, bacon pastry and a Brie sandwich on a mini baguette. The staff were as friendly and spoke great English. They were busy, but helped direct people to the menus on the wall. They have differed flags and are translated to help! The Brie sandwich was simple, yet wonderful! My wife tried a bite, looked sad for a second and said "I think I ordered the wrong thing!". Her bacon pastry was good also, but not Brie sandwich good. Coffee was good, hot and strong. A great place to grab a bite, but I'm sure they run out of things through the day.

Yelp
A popular bakery in Montmarte so I had to try it. They're known for their escargot looking croissants so I ordered a pistachio chocolate one alongside a pain au chocolat.

Yelp
First croissant I tried in Paris. It was buttery and flaky. I am sure all the bake goods would be good. Everything looks delicious. It was recommended by our walking tour host.

Yelp
Our hotel provided free breakfast, but I wanted to go to a local bakery instead. I'm so happy I did. Stopping at this bakery was perhaps one of the most memorable moments I had in Paris, because it was simply fantastic. The pastries and their taste left a mind on my mark. I bought the Roule Pistache Chocolat - you'll taste bits and pieces of chocolate supplemented with a soft and subtle pistachio taste, all on insanely soft and buttery dough. The croissant? Equally amazing. I'm coming back HERE

Yelp
"That Paris exists and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world will always be a mystery to me." - Midnight in Paris The PAIN PAIN is real! Pain Pain est une boulangerie & pâtisserie créée par Sébastien Mauvieux, lauréat de la meilleure baguette de Paris! Sur la butte Montmartre à deux pas des Abbesses. *Heart eyes* Oui Oui! I simply love this cute boulangerie in the heart of Montmartre, Paris! Open earlier than most bakery and cafes, it's my go-to spot in the mornings. Incredible freshly baked goods and amazing coffee! On my visits I've had the Chocolate Croissant, Butter Croissant, Caffe Eclairs, Cinnamon Apple Turnover and all popped out of the oven melting in your mouth vibe. I've had the French Expresso and Cappuccino and let me tell you how wonderful it is to be alive! So yum! And so Euros affordable! Pain Pain also has this incredible touch-less paying system: CC tap per normal, but also a machine that will accept your Euros too. Change automatic. Just note that early mornings (7-8am) pastries are somewhat limited to the basics, but still you have a choice. However, the best selection comes out after 8am when all the cute barista French girls work. No offense to Sébastien Mauvieux, who I met one early morning, who is the founder, award winner, and baker extraordinaire! Nicest guy! Just not as cute as all those Parisian girls with high-ponytails lol. In the end, I highly recommend PAIN PAIN in Paris if you want legit Parisian pastries with the locals! I still will visit my other favorite Charlotte if in Madeleine, but just can't beat the overall top quality, legitimate friendliness, affordability, and Le mmm pain...

Yelp
a takeout bakery with an assortment of sweet and savory pastries. we got a slice of quiche and asked them to warm it up, which was nice since cold quiche is never great. // goat cheese and spinach quiche slice (4.44 euros) // we picked this quiche because it looked the most firm, but the inside was still a bit soggy. it also essentially only has spinach and goat cheese, so we felt like it lacked in other flavors like herbs or spices. but, it was mainly the inside texture and firmness that was a bit off to me.

Yelp
The almond croissant was delicious, so I went back the next day shortly after they opened at 7:30 am. What a disappointment to find the shelves 2/3 empty; most of the items weren't available yet. They only had plain croissants; the almond ones wouldn't be ready for another hour or two. So I stopped back in the afternoon - and they were out. So two stars for the one great almond croissant, and three off for not being able to manage their selection.

Yelp
I risked almost getting stranded here to get breakfast pastries from this place. I was visiting Paris with a tour group, and on the morning we were going to leave France, I decided to make a trek across the city in order grab some chocolate croissants from here. I did this with only a budget of 15 mins gap between the time I would return to the bus location and the time the bus would leave. Luckily, there were no train delays and I didn't get lost making my way through the alleyways of Paris. The risk of getting stranded was worth it as I was able to eat the best pastries I've ever had in my life here. My travel mates were also happy once I made it back to the meeting location (because they were really stressed that I decided to try and grab these pastries before leaving). I dream of these pastries every now and then haha! If you're ever in Paris, I highly recommend you make a trip to Pain Pain. It'll haunt your dreams (in a good way) for the rest of your life.

Yelp
Stopped by this beautiful bakery twice and ordered an assortment of goodies - spinach and cheese quiche, tomato and ham quiche, apricot and pistachio tart, croissant and opera cake. Everything was rich and delicious. My personal favorite was the tart while the husband loved the opera cake. Prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend this place for your sweet cravings.

Yelp
If Instagram had a bakery, Pain Pain would be it. First off, the bakery is gorgeous. Very eye catching, Secondly, they have so many flavors of eclairs! I definitely had a hard time picking and I wish I could have come here more. I appreciated the variety of baked goods. Paris brest especially! Croissants, baguette, pasties, desserts, sandwiches, etc. They have it all here. I tried various things over the course of a few days and everything was really good. The eclairs especially. I will definitely be back and would recommend you try this place if you're in Montmartre.

Yelp
In a charming location in Montemarte. The line was long but definitely worth the wait. There was no place to sit which left the perfect opportunity to sit and enjoy the pastries in a park nearby. The pastries were the best I've had in Paris. My favorite was the coffee eclair which was light and creamy. The Pain au Chocolat was the perfect just have balance of flaky and buttery. The Saint Honoreé was another favorite with vanilla bean cream with cream puffs that melt in your mouth, a very refreshing desert. I would love to come back and try more!

Yelp
Hands down the best croissants I have ever had.... Heading back for more as we speak. I was also shocked to see the price was so cheap! Soooooooo delicious! ‍ the almond croissant specifically was to die for
google avatar

Sonali K.

Yelp
We found out about this place from my brother and SIL who visited earlier in the year and said "you cannot miss this bakery"! We had plans to go to Montemarte during our trip and of course had this on our itinerary as a stop, my only regret was not going earlier in our trip to be able to go more than once! I can see why there is always a line here - they have the most perfectly made croissants I have ever had - light, buttery, flaky and melt-in-our-mouth delicious. The pain au chocolat was equally well-made, but we could have passed on the almond croissant. It was too dense and sweet for our tastes. We also saw a lot of people buying baguettes so we obviously did the same, and I'm glad we did because it made for a wonderful snack later in the day!

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! The display case is beautiful and there are so many delicious pastries, tried quite a few items from here: - raspberry pistachio fruit tart: love this combination! - passion fruit tart: passion fruit flavor was very apparent, loved it. The paste was interesting, and the first few bites were good but the next few were a bit too sweet and overpowering - fruit tart with orange, pear, and grapfruit slices: fruits didn't have much flavor, not sure why. Tart crust was still good though as the other tarts here are. - mixed berry crumble slice: loved the flavors of this one, fruits are always great, especially these berries as they become a bit tart. Good combination of fruits and crumble, yummy! Big slice too. - chocolate croissant: nothing spectacular but still quite good - crumble slice with little orange fruits on top (I don't know what the fruit is called): good combination of fruit and crumble, really liked this but enjoyed the mixed berry one more. Staff is friendly, they make an effort to speak English. Prices are a bit high but worth trying!

Yelp
Out of this world to go food. Sandwich was amazing! I would never have thought of putting cream cheese on pesto chicken salad but it worked. And this desserts! Eclairs were amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is cute but the pastries are no good and being in France would expect more from a croissant. The ambiance and staff are very good/kind though.
google avatar

Yelp
The fresh baked smell when you walk past this place is enough to draw you over to see what's inside. It was budy however everyone behind the counter was friendly and fast and got us on our way quickly. Everything from tartes to the breads and even baguettes filled with meat and cheese that are ready for you to take, there's such a good amount of fresh baked pastries and delights that you won't leave empty handed. The place is a bit snug inside (as is most places) but take it to go and enjoy while strolling through Montmartre.

Yelp
Fan-f-ing-tastique! A must visit in Paris. You WILL NOT be disappointed. Everything is good!
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
Large pastry shop with a multitude of selections, you will have a very difficult time deciding what to get! But don't worry, whatever you choose will be fresh and absolutely satisfying. If you are not lucky enough to grab one of the limited tables, you may have to take it to go. The smell from the street of croissant baking in the morning will be the end of you.
google avatar

Shaan A.

Yelp
Holy smokes this place is good! It definitely should be on list of top croissant places in Paris. I really like the atmosphere here - on a cute cobblestone street, blue store front and glass windows. Immediately you smell the incredible aroma of freshly baked goods - they have breads, croissants, desserts and some lunch takeaway items (pizza, quiches etc). There's a small seating area but it's probably busy (it was when I went). Lots of locals come here to grab a quick bite. I decided on a Zephyr and croissant. Zephyr is a cake bake with raspberry coulis and vanilla cream on top - so incredibly amazing! This croissant was one of the best I've had in Paris - flaky and buttery - so delicious!! This place is definitely off the beaten path but I would recommend you stop by for croissants at least when in Montmartre or visiting Sacre Coeur. You won't regret it! Service is also friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Tunaidi A.

Yelp
After venturing into a lot of boulangeries throughout Paris, I wouldn't say Pain Pain is one of the best. It's a solid place, very busy with all the foot traffic in Montmartre. Service is debatable, but the goods are decent.

Yelp
SO. FREAKING. CUTE. I wandered in here one morning after walking down from the Sacré-Cœur. PLACE WAS BUSY!!! There was a nice line of local Parisians in the shop, so I naturally had to sit down for some coffee & pastries. The food is AWESOME. I had a quiche and also a chorizo baguette, both were really tasty and not greasy. The storefront is massive compared to other bakeries, and its got a nice little seating area. The layout is nicely divided with a checkout counter on one end with a very modern POS system, where you insert bills like a vending machine! The other end has the nice seating area, and in between you have a counter for quiches, and also a counter for other pastries.

Yelp
How can you not like this. The wonderful selection and their unique food combination. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
The trip to get here worked up our appetites, which is good because we had to go back for seconds on the chocolate and cream filled pastries. The croissants are delicious. The coffee seemed pretty good too. The staff were very helpful with our non-French questions and we didn't even feel rushed. They even delivered our order to our table.

Linda M.

Yelp
We had a long layover in Paris that started at 0600. We wanted to go out and get a Parisian breakfast. Based on reviews we chose this little shop. I think between the 4 of us we sampled nearly everything it was absolutely fantastic!!!! Some Of the staff also spoke English which was a huge help. When we return to Paris we will come back it was absolutely fantastic!!! Wonderful staff, very friendly and the quiche, croissants, pastries spectacular!!!

Cassidy D.

Yelp
Got there right when it opened and the baker was so nice! I got the mini pain au chocolate and croissant and loved being able to sample a few versus one large one however found them to be good but average i think I have to try the larger sizes to get opinion of them. However brioche a la creme was basically a better version of a filled donut and I loved it highly recommend any of their brioche! Also got the baguette not pictured and it had a lovely crust and flavor! Wish I came a little later unfortunately they still hadnt set out a lot of the pastries and items I wanted to try because it so I will be back!

Martin V.

Yelp
Excelente postres. Excellent pasties. Tasty and fresh. Service is efficient Ambiance is so so. Not enough tables.

Angela W.

Yelp
A gem that we happened upon in Paris and we don't regret it!! It was absolutely sweet inside and out, with fresh pastries being baked all morning. There were tons of choices but everyone came for a coffee and a classic croissant. I also could not help but to get a giant slice of Parisian flan to share, and it was 100/10 for sure!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing! Worth the trip if you're nearby. Only wish I found it earlier.

Yelp
Despite the bread being delicious, this was one of the most stressful bakery experiences of my life. We walked in and were very excited to see the beautiful arrangement of bread, but were very confused as to how it all worked as the staff was here and there and customers were all about as well. Additionally, it does not help that we do not speak French! Usually, this is not a problem and most people are very helpful, but unfortunately, this was not the case. Once we were finally being helped, the staff was very short with us and treated us as if we were stupid. Although the bread was good, I would steer clear of this place because of the experience alone. It was not a very nice way to start the day.
google avatar

Yelp
Although it had the charm of a cute bakery shop, the selection of a supermarket, and great prices, the pastries I had at Pain Pain were simply average. Coming from the US where my only exposure to croissants were from Costco and Trader Joe's, I was expecting something on a completely other level. Starting with the Pain Au Chocolat, it was very cold and didn't have much chocolate in it. This was immediately disappointing as I expected the pastries to either come out somewhat fresh or at least be heated before service. The inside was also too chewy to the point where it seemed mildly undercooked. I think you could get a better Pain Au Chocolat by baking a frozen one from Trader Joe's. The croissant suffered from many of the same issues, expect it was cooked more thoroughly. Don't get me wrong, both we're delicious but they weren't nearly as good as I expected. The Americano was the most disappointing. It was not only incredibly small, but also tasted washed down. Flavorwise, it was not much better than Starbucks. All in all, it's a great place to sit down and enjoy a chat with a friend, but you can probably find much better elsewhere.

Yelp
Wondered around the Sacre Coeur neighborhood one morning and found this bakery. Walking thru the shop and salivated over all the yummies. Very pleasant find.

Laura T.

Yelp
The Suisse croissant is literally to die for. The prices are low especially since their offerings are so delicious
google avatar

Yelp
Mmmmmmm! This place is so good. Their pastries and bread are some of the best that I've had in Paris. I believe they also won "Baguette of the year" at one point. Their orange juice is DELICIOUS too! We stopped in one morning and picked up a few items to go and none of them disappointed! They also have a little cafe area to sit and eat if that's your style. The staff are very friendly and quick! I'll be coming in again very soon!
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
The chorizo and cheese danish like thing was something to go back for. The apple and chocolate pastry was also near perfect. Airy and light croissant.
google avatar

Christina G.

Yelp
The best sandwiches we have eaten in Paris! Definitely stop by here if you are in the Montmartre area. We got the ham and cheese & a pesto chicken sandwiches. And they were amazing!! They also have tons of other pastries. Super cute as well.

Frankie S.

Yelp
the window of pasteries and treats is gorgeous. baguette wasn't fresh unfortunately. the merengues looked great. employees were a bit aggressive.
google avatar

Jacelyn C.

Yelp
This place was a good discovery. We found this place by following the scent of freshly made bread. Prices were decent but the best part is really the food! Staff were great but the food deserves the attention. From croissants and baked goodies, it tastes good. I even brought some goodies home during my last trip to Paris so that I can still have a piece of Paris on the table
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Pain Pain lives up to its reputation. We went for breakfast and tried 3 different croissants, although I'm sorry we didn't try more. They were flaky and delicious. The array of pastries was beautiful, the employees were friendly and helpful, and the dining nook was welcoming and comfortable.
google avatar

Chanel M.

Yelp
Literally one of the BEST patisseries I've ever been to, I'm petitioning that they open up in the US (if they haven't already! We tried the speculoos eclair (which was our favorite, the rum cake, and the citrus tart - all of which were divine! A+ all around - price, quality and cute boxes to take home our desserts in!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Good. Solid pastries. Nothing spectacular. Got chocolate croissants and a few different types of tarts.
google avatar

Sam O.

Yelp
You can't miss this place with their flashy blue colour and their traditional white ceramic tiles. You can take away or eat in as they do have some seats/table to grab a bite. I did try almost everything from the sandwiches to the pastries and also their breads. The sourdough one is too die for so don't miss it. I liked the most their traditional pastries as the flan nature or the eclair au chocolat. They do also other traditional pastries and some brioche. Their sandwiches are fresh and the big enough for a lunch break (if you add a small pastry with it) The staff is rotating and I never seemed to see the same people behind the counter. Nevertheless, everyone is always polite and helpful. They do close in the summer for a month for their annual leave so make sure to check their social media account beforehand.
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
Great bakery in Montmartre... Everything I had here was REALLY GOOD and not super sweet. Great service and affordably priced. Visited twice in one day - breakfast pastries in the morning and picked some fruit based tarts in the afternoon.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
I had a chance to go back here because I happened to be in the neighborhood. I tried their viennoiseries this time, and I must say, they are wayyyy better than their patisseries. The chouquettes and the escargots pistaches stand out. (I later found out that their chouquettes were voted best in Paris by Le Figaro. They are not greasy, with just the right of fluffiness and weight, small sugar crystals embedded on the top, overall very aesthetically pleasing (which is kind of hard for a chouquette!) and the taste leaves a hint of caramelized sugar in the end. They were so good. I wish this bakery were closer by, as I am obsessed with chouquettes. Will drop by anytime I'm back in that 'hood.

Matt E.

Yelp
This place was really delicious, and the service is good. It also has really cute vibes inside. Def recommend.
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
Everything we tried here was great. Just go there and get something so you can take the bag home cause the bag itself is cool. We got a citron tart, eclair and a mousse of sorts and we just wanted to buy more of everything. The staff weren't the friendliest but the pastries and sweets are worth it. Stop by, grab some snacks then make your way to Sacre Cour to burn off the calories. Full proof plan!
google avatar

Ahmad R.

Yelp
Pretty magical. Loved everything we got here from baguette to eclair, chocolat chaud to orange juice, and a couple other things. I'd hit this place up a few times a week if I lived nearby.

Sara A.

Yelp
I ordered a cafe au lait (latte) and a croissant. They were both pretty good! Not that much room to sit down so we ordered it to go. The croissant was fluffy and the coffee was average (nothing special). They spoke English so it was easy to order lol. Merci!!!
google avatar

Abigail S.

Yelp
I came here because of the reviews and it definitely lived up to my expectations. First, it's beautifully decorated and the way the pastries and breads are laid out makes you want to order all of them. I think the name is cute too. They have mini versions of some of the more popular items so you can try a few things. I got a croissant which was very good, but my favourite was this dense, chewy slightly sweet bread with orange peel in it. They had another flavour too...I forget what they were called though. If I lived here I'd come back regularly for that dense, chewy bread. My boyfriend wasn't crazy about it but I loved the texture and the solidness of it.
