⭐ 1 star This was a birthday gift from my daughter — a manicure at Paintbox to celebrate my 60th and her 18th while visiting New York. Instead of creating a beautiful memory, it turned into a huge disappointment. I was charged $141.08, and within hours, my nails started lifting and peeling. The salon was uncomfortable, hot, and hard to find. Drinks were only offered at the end, despite being advertised as part of the experience. Worse, their phone number doesn’t work, and no one has responded to our emails. The technician even mentioned service has declined due to investors — not something you want to hear while getting your nails done. Paintbox is all branding and no substance. I expected better. Don’t waste your money.

I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my nails until I started going to Paintbox. The Nail Artists are incredibly talented; the studio ambience is calming and chic, and the designs are so fun and chic! Since I started getting regular gel manicures here and using their cuticle oil, my nails are the longest and strongest they’ve ever been! Worth every penny.

Paintbox is quite a treat. They have also taken into account any feedback etc on how they can do better to accommodate the pricing. Even though on paper it looks expensive, its worth it due to the duration of how long their manicures last. I have been going to them for 7 plus years and their service has been fairly consistent. Helen is quite a super star- my gel manicures last for 4 weeks! She is thorough and invested in making sure that her clients get the best service.

I enjoy PaintBox so much for a lot of reasons. They are extremely clean and I love that before we start my manicure we both get to hand sanitize! What I love most about going here for my manicures is how long they stay on. I am someone who doesn’t have time every two weeks to get a refresh so the gel polish truly lasts 3-4 weeks for me and I love it. The sleek designs make the experience fun and I enjoy having a nice glass of champagne while I get pampered. You won’t be disappointed with the quality of products or service here. I enjoy my appointments every month!

Terrible experience. I called to ask if they had a same day appointment available and they did. The staff at the front desk was pleasant but the manicure experience was not. I asked the lady for almond shape and this is the most uneven shape my nails have ever been. Theyre so crooked she dint even file them correctly. $80 for a gel manicure where the shape is also so uneven seems a complete ripoff. There is paint overflowing on the free edge along the sides of the nail. I could have gone to my neighborhood salon and gotten a better gel mani for $35 Update: its the next day, exactly 24 hours later, and the thumb is already peeling off

I’ve been a client at PaintBox for over a year and I always look forward to my appointments to treat myself to high quality service. I usually have my appointments with Helen who is kind, warm, precise and professional but I’ve found all of the nail artists to be top notch.

Decided to treat myself to a gel manicure for a special occasion. Despite being a nail noob I had a great experience with Helen. She was patient and meticulous. She didn’t rush me when I was indecisive about color and design, and she made sure to get the details right, even if it took multiple tries. Thank you so much! I absolutely love my manicure! A little pricey (~$100 for gel series 2 design, not including tip) but I would definitely come back to treat myself for special occasions. The tech was so gentle and didn't nick my cuticles at all. She was attentive to detail and definitely a perfectionist, which I really appreciated when it comes to nail art.
