The Palace Diner

Such a nice vibe diner with retro interior and fun tables. We had food with great portion size and sweet juice. Just a tad bit oily but love the cake display! I had a carrot cheese cake! The coleslaw was great but very sweet! Close to Culinary Institute, quick bite with booth seatings.

The quesadilla was edible the French onion soup was bitter and I couldn't finish eating it the sandwich which looks delicious but it's as hard as a rock. The second picture is a side of Mac and cheese it doesn't even look bad but it was totally inedible even by 2 - 16 year old boys that eat everything. Service was awful, no one checked to see how the food was, couldn't get a refill of water to choke down what we tried eating. Went to the register to speak to the manager met the lady that said she was pretending to be the manager that evening and I told her that I wasn't going to pay for the macaroni and cheese that was totally inedible took almost an hour to get a check so we could leave and on hindsight I should of left a five on the table for the dried up baked potatoes that was the only thing eaten for dinner which I didn't take a picture of

The food was really good for a late night dinner. The staffing was low as expected for a midnight dinner. However, my friends and I are grateful for the wonderful hospitality. Thank you!

Was in the neighborhood for a graduation and decided to stop by here for dinner. I came in with standard expectations for a diner but this place surpassed it by so so much. Vincent was our waiter and he was great! The portion was great and everything was delicious! The diner was also very spacious and perfect for a large family; we had a party of 13!

immediately greeted with warm energy when we came in on a rainy Monday morning. awesome old school retro vibe. the only diner i’ve been to that gives you FOUR different kinds of sausages to choose from: skinny links, fat links, impossible (vegetarian), AND patties! got a classic order of two eggs over easy, fat sausage links, extra crispy home fries, and white toast. everything was hot and fresh. our waitress was also extremely attentive and kind! their freshly squeezed orange juice is also amazing.

We were a party of 7 and were on our way back to CT while we stopped here for breakfast. The staff was exceptionally nice and the diner was great. The food was average diner food. The fresh orange juice was great. A lot of parking available.

Went in today for breakfast on my day off. Food was literally brought out within. 2 minutes. Toast was barely toasted asked waitress how it came out so fast. Was told it was slow. 10:45am. The sausage was luke warm the the eggs were luke warm to cold and hash browns were little hard. I sent it back because I didn’t want to get sick. Sent it back, the sausage was Luke warm however the rest of the meal was hot. Within an hour eating been running back n fourth to bathroom, been going on now 2 plus hours. I called to speak to the owner. He said said he remembered my order and that he prepared my plate after I returned the first one. Told me he has no problem with food quality. I said I beg to differ. He didn’t seem to care one bit. I work in food and know food has to be cooked to 165 degrees and maintained at least 140 degrees. The first plate was definitely not maintained properly. I have eaten there before and always thought it was good place. After today would never ever go back. To future customers beware. I don’t like to leave negative reviews and think this is my 3rd negative review of a business and I’m over 50. I can understand a lot but this was just sloppy this morning and no care for the customers well being when I was served my first plate.

The service is very good. The food was cooked very well and the price is reasonable. Coffee is really good.

Palace is fantastic diner spot early in the day when it is busy. Everyone eats to fill a hunger pang, work off hangovers or get in on a new busy day. It has table side jukeboxes. Food is delicious: wraps, omelettes, soups. The food can be a bit sauce/chunk heavy. Fast diner! Review: 4

We liked the diner, close to colleges and the portion sizes were great. Fries were great and chicken chipotle avocado on a baguette was super yummy grilled chicken is delicious. The juices were sweet but the cake display was very good and inviting. Friendly waiters and organized seating with booths.

So, I went to the web site to order pick up. It's convenient to order online, so after I looked at the menu I went on to order and everything was more expensive. So if I order online I pay 3 or more dollars for the same item than if I call the order in. That's kinda BS, minus a star. I placed my order over the phone, picked up, and went back to eat with no issues. The food was really good. No complaints there. Except....they gave me soup with no spoon. Minus a star. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but geez - the online markup and lack of a spoon definitely leaves room for improvement.

Your standard diner. Inexpensive, quick service and tasty food. Nothing spectacular but great for a quick meal. Portions were very reasonable and service was friendly.

Really happy so far! Waitress Susy is SO cool. Read my mind that I was starving so when I sat down ready to do takeout said "wanna just eat here?" Uhm yeah! Espresso martini Mozzarella sticks Amazing!!! Getting chicken sandwich to go. That will be breakfast!!! I better take a pic before it's all gone! The whole staff here is hilarious. The manager makes fun of everyone in such a funny way. It's like a comedy show (for me at least!) and I was just hungry & kinda in a not great mood. Now I'm LMAO!! I ordered an eggs benedict and asked for the eggs to be well done and have the hollandaise sauce on the side. I got what I asked for however, when I request hollandaise sauce on the side, I don't want extra poured all over on half of the food! I should have asked for the manager and sent it back! The waiter gave it to me anyway and laughed. I didn't want to cause a problem there because I didn't think it was funny! You lost my business! That's a lack of respect!

We came here on a Thursday around 9:30pm. The restaurant was clean and open. Our group of five all ordered breakfast. Our server was efficient and took our order. He also kept our water glasses full. All enjoyed their meals. The breakfast sandwich was the highlight of our meals. It was the sausage egg and cheese on a nice roll. So much cheese and sausage and it was huge. Worth every penny of the 4.99 price!

Okay, I'm done with Palace Diner. It's only gone downhill since my experience with their chicken pot pie disaster, but today was even worse than the food. I ordered the Portobello Mushroom Omelette via Uber Eats, with a side of sourdough. Nowhere on the menu did it mention that it was made with marinara, otherwise, I would've left that off. Even worse, they packed the toast in the same container as the omelette, so the bread soaked up... whatever's brown?? I can't eat the food now, because it's drenched in marinara which ruins the taste for me. The bread is inedible, period. But the worst part, is that my order was picked up by a nice African American woman whom was harassed by the manager and accused of stealing my order. They handed her the order from behind the counter, and on her way out, the manager chased after her and accused her of stealing. She told him they had to hand her the order, but he still insisted she bring it back. She asked if it had to do with her race, and that's when he tried to ban her from doing deliveries there. As if he has any control over that. When I called the restaurant to ask if my order was supposed to be made with marinara, I ended up speaking with that same manager. He told me it was optional, I told him I wasn't given that option. He had no resolution for that. When I asked him why he accused my driver of stealing, he said she called him a racist. I told him, it was because he accused her of stealing for no logical reason. He told me to have a great day. So, cool. Food is trash. Customer service is trash. Treatment of delivery drivers is trash. Who's keeping this place in business?

Service was poor, waited could not understand anything we were saying had to get another person to come back for our order. Brought soup when we ordered salad , brought cheese burger sliders when we ordered hanger steak sliders, brought cheese omelette when we ordered western omelette. Never came back for refills or needed anything else. Told manager who inspected to see if we were telling the truth just for him to get the owner who came over to see what happened. She went to speak to him and all he did was laugh. No apologies from him or anything given off bill or comped for something else. All the tables around us there orders were all messed up as well. If you don't have the help please don't put poor quality associates on the floor and then don't do anything about it except say oh sorry.

The food was amazing very tasty. The service was great. The host was inviting, seating us quickly. The waitress was nice and polite. We will definitely come back when we visit our family again.

Ordered through DoorDash, though I picked it up. Order was done quickly and correctly. Service was prompt. This place has a HUGE menu, which is generally a red flag for me, but given this was just a dinner order for the night shift, I didn't have huge expectations. I got the chicken and pesto panini. Cheese well melted and veggies grilled. Chicken could have used some seasoning. Fries were ok. I got a side of fries because it wasn't clear that it accompanied the sandwich, so I ended up with a huge tub of fries I couldn't eat. My coworker got the Philly cheesesteak. While the bread appeared to be well toasted, she didn't care for her sandwich and only ate part of it. This is a hip, retro place with a way back feel inside. Tables have small jukeboxes. Lots of chrome finishes. Clean and bright inside. Could take some cool photos here. The giant menu includes a smorgasbord of sandwiches, salads, pastas, meat dishes, soups, stews, etc. They even have calamari on the menu. But is this where you want to get your calamari? It's a greasy spoon 24 hour diner. My food was mediocre. I had no expectation otherwise. Nobody is looking for Michelin stars.

I don't know what well known business serves burnt stuffed shrimp, watery mashed potatoes and over cooked veggies. $28 is too much for a failed dinner. Lately and too often Palace has been fucking up peoples orders. They don't even deserve a star in my opinion.

Been here many times but last night was amazing! Had Vincent as a waiter and he was great. Really left us with an amazing impression and made our night so much better. Highly recommend. Food came out so fast and hot and better than expected especially on a Friday night at 6:30pm- with no wait!

Came here to celebrate my SIL birthday. The boys ordered breakfast and the corned beef hash was great. No complaints from them. I ordered the grilled salmon salad and the salmon was so over cooked that it is super disappointing since it costs extra for salmon. If you come here, stick to breakfast or "diner type" fare. I wouldn't order the salads.

I find this to be a good diner. The food is consistent and the service is good. Between the three of us, we ordered chicken souvlaki sandwich, bbq chicken sandwich, and gyro. Everything was tasty and well cooked. The portions are large, so nobody will go home hungry. The ambience isn't particularly warm, but it's a diner. The interior is clean albeit a little dated. They have old-school jukeboxes in the booths that are fun to look at. Overall, I would recommend this diner. It is better than others in close proximity. Solid and consistent food and service.

I would definitely recommend the breakfast items. Being the only place that serves 24 hours. The dinners are hit or miss. Sometimes is questionable. But great service.

Overall, I was quite disappointed with my experience here and I did not even have the worst experience among the people in my party. I'd like to preface by saying that my server was a super kind and pleasant person who definitely made this lackluster experience better. It started from the very beginning- we had to ask three times just to get water because the busboy was not bringing them over for some reason. My food was average at best. I got the Yankee pot roast, which was extremely average. The potato pancakes were bland and had no taste; the meat, beets, and vegetables were just okay. However, I had a friend who ordered a grilled cheese that not only did not have melted cheese in the sandwich, but also hair in his sandwich. That is gross and makes me question what other health violations are going on back in the kitchen. Do better.

Located conveniently off of route 9 near Marist, College, the Palace Diner is a local staple. Their menu has a lot to offer including specialty coffees and cocktail options. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. We had the pancake combo and the Red Fox (nod to Marist) wrap. The diner has a classic feel. The booths are my favorite, suited with your own juke box.

We enjoyed eating here when visiting our daughter. A great menu with all kinds of menu suggestions across the board. The diner was clean, nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive service. We ordered matzoh ball soup, spaghetti bolognese, Madeira chicken and a side of onion rings. Food came out hot, good portion size, plated nicely and reasonably priced. An enjoyable diner experience.

Went here after our usual Sunday church brunch . If i can break my review down, the service is a 5 ( the nicest, most accommodating waitress.....Alexis), the ambiance a 4, and the food a 3 this time. The south western wrap lacked flavor but when we put chipotle mayo on it, it was good. The mozz sticks we're typical good but they were the frozen kind. BLT was typically yummy but too light on the mayo. We all know that a good diner is depending on the french fries... The french fries with gravy are amazing... Food is plentiful and flavorful! Martha the hostess is very warm and inviting. (Possibly one of the owners) Vincent our waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and accommodating with our requests. We had a traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving and the veggies were well seasoned and the turkey was juicy and flavorful. The margarita was perfectly made!

Typical diner menu, lots of selections, and large dining rooms with plenty of tables. Service was efficient, not terribly friendly, but the order came out correctly and the food was good. The burgers were cooked to the ordered temperature, the wings were very good, and the Reubens were a big hit. Prices were reasonable and the place was very clean. Fun fact -- all of the booths have individual jukeboxes.

This diner is amazing! One of the best diners I have been to and I am from NJ, the diner capital of the world. Everything we ordered was delicious. The giant pretzel, turkey dinner, Ruben, and breakfast were all hot delicious and well prepared. Corey, our server, he was amazing as well. He kept the drinks refilled the whole time and checked back often to make sure we had everything we needed. Everyone was pleasant that we encountered from the moment we walked into the door. The building was beautiful with the chrome and neon greeting you as you entered the parking lot. The dining area was very clean as well as the bathroom. Prices were very reasonable too. You could not ask for a better diner experience.

I enjoyed my apples and cinnamon pancakes today. The meal portion was ample for the $11 price tag. Coffee was priced too high at $3 for a small mug but there were free refills. Our waitress was a bit scattered but we did have a large party. The owner came by to chat and he was quite pleasant. The diner is attractive inside and out, and there was plenty of parking. I'll be back.

been here a bunch of times and usually have to wait a little at night, especially when they're busy, but i had Vincent as a server yesterday, and he was exceedingly prompt, present, and made sure we had everything we needed and thensome, during our late night dinner experience. This man took care of every possible detail, the food even came out faster seemingly. service like that really is special and i feel this man truly understands hospitality. food was alright, got 'buffalo' wings that tasted like a sweet barbecue sauce i didn't particularly enjoy, but texture was good. table we got sat at was dirty and had syrup on it, but we just wiped it off, not a huge deal. Vincent's there every Sunday, if you want fantastic service.

Used to be an excellent diner when it was owned by Teddy. You felt treated like family. Unfortunately new ownership has made it gone downhill. Food is not good and management is even worse. The night manager. Much better experience going to Red Line in Fishkill.

Terrible service Biscuits and gravy and the Grace was sour.... Went bad ? Use to be a great place to eat, now it's shot. Took longer to get the bill and pay it, had to get up and go find it. Management is not on top of it at all. New Management maybe ??

The waitress gave our food order to another table . After waiting half an hour we inquired . We're told we were correct and at our sandwiches we're going to be made soon. We are taking our business elsewhere

I just wanted to let everyone know how an employee named Karen who seated us treats a disabled person. I asked to sit in a half booth and she said we reserve those for parties of six and my party of four was too small because it gets really busy on Friday night. We were there for an hour and a half and not one party was seated in any of the half booth areas. There must've been at least eight of them. Very disappointed that in this day and age in 2025 this is the way a disabled person gets treated.

Typical Greek style diner. I had the Tex-Mex omelette, which I enjoyed, and my friend had the Marist omelette. He was impressed with the portions. Food was very good. The service provided by Charlene was very good.

Old school diner with all the classics Including the hike box at your table! I kept it simple with just a veggie omelette which was fantastic!

Have you ever been in the mood for something but couldn't particularly put your finger on it? I was in the mood for breakfast but couldn't tell you exactly what I wanted. I decided to get a breakfast sandwich because it was easy and quick. I needed something that I could eat on the go. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on gluten free bread. Wow! Just wow. It sounds so simple but that was such a delicious sandwich and a perfect start to my day! The gluten free bread was nice and soft. They use a great quality of bread. The sausage was particularly tasty and the sandwich was really hearty. Last, the cheese was nice and gooey, I was really pleased with my breakfast and I'm looking forward to ordering this again. Also the price wasn't bad at all!

We really had a fantastic experience going there for lunch on Christmas Eve Day. Wife had chicken parmigiana, son had meatloaf, and I had peanut butter pancakes. Food was plentiful and delicious. The waitress was absolutely fantastic. It was totally a five-star experience and we will return next time we are in the area.

The best diner in Dutchess county! Great food, menu,service,the old and new style diner. I travel 20 minutes every week to eat there its worth the trip.

Typical diner food. Our waitress was really nice and attentive, she even told us when she was going on her break and that someone would be checking on her tables. This is where things fell apart. No one checked on us at all. One in our party needed a refill and we also were pretty much done eating and ready for the check but didn't get anything sorted until our waitress got back. Not her fault at all, the diner should know that tables need to be covered. There weren't even that many people there at the time, it wouldn't have been a stretch for anyone to take a few more tables

CLEANLINESS: 5 stars. A gentleman was cleaning when I arrived. The floors could use an industrial cleaning treatment ( this is beyond a standard mop-up). Bathroom has an odd odor, but it had been recently cleaned. Greeting was professionally polite. The hostess let us know that they are short/staffed. ( Appreciated). My order is a simple no fail diner favorite: eggs over easy with bacon and home fries, rye toast, strawberry jam. I'll take pastries home to the family. I recall that this don't has wonderful Napoleon pastries.

2nd time at this place while visiting Marist college, our waitress dianna was a sweet heart. She came introduced herself, we won't ready to decide. She said she'll come back which she did. She came and took our orders, the soup cake out in like 6 min it wasn't a long wait. The food eventually came out after 20 min of waiting, the Portions was hUge. Definitely can't eat it out. Prices are affordable. Plus if you have a sweet tooth palace have just the right amount of desserts to fix that.

I honestly wish there was a 0 star feature. I asked for avocado toast, something simple. I didnt want eggs on it not tomatoes, simply avocado and toast. I was charged 12 dollars for an order of two slices of toast with avocado. the cashier stated that regardless of the changes i made, i would be charged the same. 12 dollars for just avocado and toast??? thats insane!!! the toast was BURNT. i understand they r completely understaffed but thats not professional at all. the lady was unsympathetic and unkind. the service took a while, but i couldnt blame the poor waitress as they were completely understaffed

Don't eat here if you have a food allergy because the management will make you sick. They didn't listen to my food allergy when I ordered. I caught it immediately when the order came wrong. No, they didn't fix. Yes, I got a hard time. Manager is the probably the owners gf because she gets away with being rude on the daily and bogarts the cash register. Rude AF. Gave us a hard time and gave another table a hard time. No need for reservations. They will always have open seats because they're food is not great. Go somewhere better for nice occasions.

We have been regular customers for years. Today I am so disappointed. I ordered the steak salad. The steak was ice cold and had a dark brown color and was as dry as can be. I told the waitress( Who we have known for years} and she did not do a thing. We paid $17.99 for this inedible lunch. Will be very reluctant to go there again.

Turkey Cheese Burger w Sweet Potato fries is my 1st choice w honey mustard sauce. Check to be sure they have the right honey mustard it makes a difference.
