Palace of Culture

Characteristic building with massive pillars (and lovely shades) dominating İskender Bey square - by its sheer size. Day and night, it's beautiful. This is a complex building, featuring many function - including opera, cafes and restaurants, book store, italian culture institute, etc.

I visited the Opera and Ballet Theatre on May 28, 2025, two classical ballets were performed: “Kaleidoscope” and “Suitë në Re”. The dancers are mostly good. The costumes are beautiful. The only announcement in the hall in English is that "the show will start in a few minutes", the rest are in Albanian. You should avoid seats in the last row of the stalls, behind which there is a wide pass, along which photographers constantly walk during the performance and you will hear only the clicking of cameras and their conversations. Spectators are taking photos or videos all the time, which is also distracting. There is no toilet paper in the toilet stalls and the hand dryers do not work.

Beautiful buildings. Did not get chance to check out any of the bunker art but it's rated highly there.

We attended a beautiful program done by the local Jehovahs Witnesses in Albania. It was wonderful. Every seat was taken. The facility itself needs air conditioning and better toilet facilities. The dear volunteers were getting buckets of water for toilet flushing.

Do you think this building can withstand the test of time in the future without breaking down? Many of Tirana's old buildings are falling down one by one to make way for multi-story TOWERS. Until then you can enjoy this side of the main square in Tirana .

What a great city Tirana is, restaurants and alcohol are half the price of the UK and the people are very friendly. A hidden gem of a city to visit. The walking tour from Skanderbeg Square is a must.

This building has significant elements from the Palace of Congress in Rome and the building of Finland Station in St. Petersburg. It was finished in 1963. Within it there are some of the most important institutions of the social and cultural life of the capital, such as the National Theater of Opera and Ballet and the National Library.

Palace of culture, Tirana. I was there and I am giving you honest review. It's an open and large place where people kinda meet. Different people fromall part of the world that resides or visit Albania. There are rows of shops and bars where I got a bottle of beee to drink. Palace of culture gave me a feeling of old Greek court with it tall pillars of wall. It's a good place to mingle and meet friends. I like the services of the bartender at the particular parlor I went too
