Palace on Ganges- Varanasi

If you're someone who's new to India's many cultural landscapes, this hotel should be a must for you. Every room's design is based on an Indian state, and that's why they seem to have a flavour that's missing from most hotels around. The place is also perfectly located - right next to a ghat, which makes it easier for you to travel around. The service is superb too. Whatever you need and whenever you need it, the staff will help you out. My only complaint has been with the noise due to the renovations going on, but that shouldn't be a problem by the time you're reading this review.

wonderful hotel with very unique rooms. all the rooms are themed after an Indian state with very good attention to detail. the manager is very sweet and gave us a tour of all the rooms as we were curious. the location of the hotel is very good with Assi ghat just a stone’s throw away. food here is also delicious and has a lot of variety. overall highly recommend the place!

While the location is prime and convenient, the experience doesn’t justify the price. Comfort is almost non-existent. Despite charging a premium, they conduct loud drilling work even during peak noon hours. Repeated requests to stop the noise were met with temporary relief of just 15 minutes, after which it resumed. No matter which floor your room is on, the disturbance is unavoidable. Considering the high price, it’s better to explore other budget-friendly options in the area using Google Maps. You’ll likely find a more peaceful stay elsewhere.

Good location near the Ganges. Hotel has seen better days, but it served us well. We had a basement room, which was nice and quiet. Dinner was less than satisfactory. Shame no alcohol was served as the hotel has an enviable rooftop restaurant.

One of the worst exp I had in this hotel. The list is huge - - servicing pathetic - did not inform earlier that there was no lift while booking and forced to pay almost half amt. But while checking in got a surprise that there is no lift which become huge inconvenience for my mother who is aged - room quality is not good though asked premium price like infrequency of hot water, intercom don’t work, - food quality and management is poor - on top of it attitude of managers - pays no attention to the concerns raised instead run behind chasing the amt and forced us to pay the entire booking while chking in - empathy or politeness or understanding - these words seems to missing completely from their dictionary

'DO NOT COME' for atleast next 3 months here, renovation works is going on, full hotel smells like paint thinner and drilling/construction work will go on continuously even on weekends ( I am writing his while staying here). Even after repeated plea of making the drilling stop so that we can rest didn't work. Rest, location is great, food is decent but if you want some peaceful stay, stay away from this hotel for atleast next 3-4 months.

Very good place to stay in Varanasi! Food in the restaurant is excellent, no meat, no alcoholic drinks nearby the Ganges River. No problem withthe very tasty food they serv. Never Stop Travelling say to everyone, go here and ask for waiter Sunil

Time to time I return to Varanasi, a wonderful and engaging city. If you have to go there, you absolutely must sleep in this hotel ( if you find place ! ) . The hotel is good with very kind staff and an excellent restaurant. But the added value is the location directly on the Ganges, you go out and find yourself directly immersed in the magical and engaging life that takes place on the river.
