We were visiting for the first time. Wanted a great hamburger and this place was recommended. So glad that we listened! Rachel sat us right away by the window and came back to take our drink order and food order quickly. She was friendly and made us feel so welcome. Food came out fast and hot. Delicious bacon cheeseburger, salad, fries and milkshake. Would definately come back next time we come to town! Highly recommended.

We stopped in for lunch. The wait was over an hour after saying it would be only 30-40 minutes, but they gave us an electronic beeper and we had time to browse the shops. We came back to check our status and a table was still not ready, so several of us went to the bar to order a beer. Rachel was tending bar and she was great. I wanted a light beer, nothing too heavy. She gave me a sample of the Palace brand and it was perfect. Very refreshing, light on the hops, and easy going down. We were seated at a booth for six and lo and behold, Rachel ended up being our server. One of her favorite songs came on, and before we ordered, we were entertained with her singing to us. She did a great job as a singer and as our server. Everyone at the table ordered something different. Our table of 6 ordered a turkey sandwich, a couple different variations of Reuben's, a California Club, and the hubs and I had their fish n chips special. Everything was tasty n fresh. Portions were large and served with fries. Several to go boxes were needed and everyone was quite satisfied with their lunch. Prices are reasonable, too. We would make the drive from Reno to eat here again.

Cool place to eat. Get here before it changes into someplace non-nestalgic. They need an interior designer. Still better than Bonanza across the street. Food was good overall. Do not get the cabbage cup they call coleslaw. I don't think they put any sauce in it. Oh, the lady waitress thought we wanted to hear her sing over the music being played. We couldn't wait to leave. Our waiter Mike was great.

Stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the old west saloon atmosphere. I had the pastrami Reuben’s, they have a few choices in Reuben’s, and it was very good. The service was friendly and attentive even though the place was busy. Prices were not too bad for being a tourist area except for the extra 50 cents they unexpectedly charged my husband for mayonnaise on his burger which was a spoonful in a little cup….

The food was incredible! However the service was mixed. Our waitress wasn’t very willing to answer questions and her responses were clipped and unfriendly. However her demeanor improved later so perhaps she was just having a rough day. The sandwiches we ordered (elk burger and chicken pickle) were incredibly delicious and the fries were perfect. Very happy with the meal itself.

Virginia City! Yes, please! What a beautiful restaurant and saloon! Our server, Mike, was very personable and knowledgeable about the history of this establishment. We ordered the golden fried mushrooms, which were delicious. Fish and chips, the old fashioned way, with malt vinigar, also delicious. Cheddar beef dip, which was the best we have had in over 20 years!

Great food, and staff was very friendly. Portions are huge, but everything cooked very well. Old town vibe.

Rachel was an amazing server & made world class Bloody Mary's. The sandwiches & burgers were so tasty & the atmosphere was very fun! Highly Recommend this place for a fun, amazing meal & drink.

The Palace is a rustic restaurant with great staff that serves good food in large portions. Today we started with the Chili Cheese Fries. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. They were loaded with cheese. The chili had depth of flavor and was delicious. We do wish that there was more chili on the fries though. For our meals we had the Turkey Club, The Grilled Cheese BLT, and the Fried Pickle Bacon Burger. The Turkey Club was loaded (to put it mildly) with turkey. It had fresh tomatoes and shredded lettuce. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The Grilled Cheese BLT definitely hit the spot. The sourdough bread was toasted to perfection. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly proportioned. The sandwich wasn't greasy at all. The Fried Pickle Bacon Burger was cooked to order and seasoned well. The fried pickles on the burger were good, but considering the name of the burger, there could have been more pickles and/or the pickle juice could have been utilized in a sauce to highlight the pickles more. The that fries that came with our lunches (2 did regular and 1 did sweet potato) were beautifully cooked and had just the right amount of seasoning. I can't wait for my next visit to enjoy large portions of delicious food and maybe a winter drink or two.

I met friends for lunch and everyone always says to get the cheeseburger and fries! It was absolutely delicious and I ate every bite. My friend ordered the onion rings and they were unappetizing so I asked the waitress to remove them from the bill and she did with no issues. The staff is awesome and if you're looking for a quick bite on C Street step back in time for a spell.

Had their version of French onion soup and it certainly wasn't an authentic one, but it was okay; a bit on the salty side. My dining companion gave me a sampling of her "Rachel" sandwich and it was really good. It was like a Reuben but with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut. I also had some of the fries. Quite tasty. I'd recommend their sandwiches and fries, but not so much the soup.

Food and service were excellent! It was warm and toasty in the restaurant, obviously major saloon vibes. My husbands old fashioned was really impressive, he knew for sure there was whiskey in it. My Cobb salad was fresh and massive, so I got to take some home for dinner. The chili had good flavor, I just wish it was a bit warmer, mine was sort of luke warm. And the tap/mountain water was the best water I have ever had! And I recommend the hot Apple cider, yum!!

The food was more than amazing!!! The service was really good, the waitress was polite and attentive! The ambience felt like we were in early 40s saloon. Their sweet potato fries and Jenn's fried chicken BLT deserved a chefs kiss‍

Amazing beers and food, and adequate service, and continent location. While walking along the downtown area of Virginia City, this place caught my eye since it's near the "Welcome Center" of Virginia city. They have many seating inside and the atmosphere gives off "old nevada" type of vibe. Restroom was clean and the service was quick. Food came out pretty fast after my table placed our order and we got checked up on afterwards. No complaints at all for this restaurant. Highly recommend anyone craving a burger, panini, or chicken to come here and eat while enjoying exploring around Virginia City!

I was genuinely surprised at what a great experience I had dining at the Palace with a party of six folks (including me) on a Saturday. I haven't spent much time eating in Virginia City because the initial impression can be that it's hard to park and crowded everywhere. But once you learn that you can park in the public lot at the intersection of B St and Taylor St and just walk the block down the hill to the main road, it becomes much easier. Our party of six stopped at the Palace after offroading at lunchtime, and we were seated in a booth **immediately** even though it was crowded. Our server did a great job being friendly but also efficient. I was so surprised to see the depth of the menu: so many burgers, sandwiches, and other items. They were huge and delicious, and they came out quickly. The Palace had just the right combo of old-timey Virginia City with contemporary throughput-oriented customer service. Here for it. We'll be back!

Food was very good. We ordered chili which was very good. Also 3 alarm burger, western style pork style sandwich were large portions and phenomenal tasting. The BLT was classic and sweet potato fries plentiful. Rachel our server was so attentive and helpful. The restaurant is in an old saloon. You have to go just to see old bar.

I have to tell you the food there is amazing! This burger put me in an absolutely awe inspiring moment, it's huge and the flavor is so good. The girls working were so friendly and helped me so quick. There was tourist and lots of locals one of the locals was telling me about the events coming up. Definitely going to be going back to that beautiful amazing restaurant!

We waited a long time , the server was nice but we didn't see her much. My pastrami sandwich was decent but the fries were DEAD. They were like rocks and the food came to the table cold.

Ordered the Shroom Dip, loaded with perfect sliced beef and lots of yummy mushrooms, the au-jus delicious. Loved the crispy fries. My server was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was full with a waiting line. Great spot with the rustic atmosphere. Next time you are in Virginia City check it out, they also have probably 20+ burgers to choose from and multiple tap beers to choose from.

The Palace is one of the better places in the area. We stopped in for a late lunch and enjoyed it. It's a large comfortably place with a lot of seating. Service was very good; we were looked after well very without being pestered. They have a full bar and a number of good beers on tap. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken sandwich was pretty good and the fries were very nicely done with great seasoning. This is the place I'd come to when in Virginia City!

Came here for a late lunch while in town. Long wait around 2pm but once seated the food came pretty quick. We had the tri tip salad, and three alarm burger. Both were good. The burger was not spicy at all

Friday night of Memorial Day weekend and the place is dark and closed even though Yelp says open. I completely understand hours being off on Yelp but that doesn't change fact the place is closed. Had the best reviews in town so I'm disappointed I don't get to try. May want to update your info on the internet

Passing through and this place was recommended for lunch. It was ok, I wish I had ordered something different. Very messy and greasy sandwich, I love spicy food and pickles but my "spicy chicken pickle" sandwich was anything but:/ server was nice. It definitely has that wet mop bar smell which isn't great but it wasn't terrible. $45 for 2 sandwiches, water & tea seemed like a lot!

Good stop after off roading in the area. Quick, friendly, efficient service. Good pastrami and turkey sandwiches. Average drinks. My girlfriend loved the fava bean and ham soup on a crisp autumn day. Leave to her. Note to self: stick to the pastrami and turkey sandwiches. Blue cheese burger was ok. Loud. Friendly. Down to earth.

Fun place to stop in VC for lunch! My dad and I stopped by on a weekday and the place was filled with locals, it was pretty cool : ) The service was quick and attentive--we seriously had one of the nicest waitresses ever. I had my first reuben sandwich and it was freaking awesome!!! (currently spiraling into a reuben obsession) Dad got a pastrami reuben without the bread (he's sadly on a no-carb diet LOL) and they accommodated his request with ease. 10/10!!!

Drove up to Virginia City this past Monday to just walk around. After a while, we started to get hungry. Palace Saloon & Restaurant looked perfect for what we wanted. When we walked in, we were seated right away. We were seated in Rachel's section and greeted almost as soon as we sat down. Rachel took our drink orders and filled them faster than I got a chance to settle into my seat. :) I ordered one of the Ruben's on sourdough, I really do not like rye bread and my girlfriend got the steak melt, I'm sorry for not having the correct names. Regardless, the portions were large and the food was very tasty. Neither of us could finish our sandwich and brought them home to finish later. The restaurant was very busy, almost every seat full. The staff was incredibly welcoming and Rachel was a great server. Thank you Rachel! The vibe itself is very cool, very old building with a great history. If you like ghost town vibes and eats, you will love it here. I definitely recommend The Palace!

My fiancé and I stopped in for a bite to eat before we walked around town. The staff were all so sweet. The food was amazing, and the ambiance was great. We both ordered burgers. I ordered the sarsaparilla soda. I love those sodas. Ya gotta try one with your burger and fries.

We took a road trip and went to Quincy where we found the greatest place to eat breakfast or lunch we chose breakfast. We had a party of 10 they did not take reservations. So we put our name in and had a pleasant way. It was about 30 minute wait Once we got seated we had a red beer , The waitress was wonderful. They were serving one of my favorites. Bagel cream cheese smoke salmon, Beautiful slices of tomato red slices of onions and capers. It was absolutely yummy I ate every bit. All the food homemade. Everybody was delighted with their choices. What a great find I will definitely be back

This place was awesome can't wait to stop by again. Known for their many choice of Ruben sandwiches. Everything seemed amazing drinks are great. Service is awesome. I'd definitely recommend!

Great sandwiches! Was busy so service was slow but well worth the wait! Cute ambience! These are the sandwiches we got and they were all delicious and recommend: Roos brothers Reuben, Rachel Rueben sandwich, Spice Reuben and the V & T turkey sandwich

We visited there on Friday for lunch; a party of 7. Waiter was mostly courteous. Some very fixable issues with the food. Pastrami Reuben was greasy tasting. A little less oil or butter on the grilled rye bread would help. California chicken sandwich- very dry chicken breast and bread was too crunchy. Could be a bit softer to avoid sore gums. French dip - grey overcooked beef and no flavor. The chili side had good flavor, lots of veggies. Would we eat there again? We would probably try another place in town next time we visit.

Visiting Virginia City and decided to have lunch at Palace Saloon, so glad we did. We sat at the bar because that was the only thing available and what a great choice. Our server Rachel was probably one of the best servers I have ever had , such a ray of sunshine. I ordered the pickle bacon cheeseburger very good and had an appetizer of the onion rings also very delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and if you're lucky to get Rachel as your server you will not be disappointed.

As all my followers know I'm a grilled cheese fan--it's one of my go to's. We'll what was served to me under this guise was not a grilled cheese, more like bread with a quarter piece of cheese in there somewhere: hard, dry, not good at all. Curds we're good. Friends didn't like their burgers at all in fact said they was nasty nasty. Palace of nastyness maybe

Today we decided to take a visiting friend up to experience Virginia City. We decided to go to the Palace Saloon for brunch. I was a little saddened to see that they had absolutely no breakfast options on their menu for 11am so we went ahead and just ordered lunch from the menu. My husband got the garbage burger which we were amazed at how big it was. He said it was great tasting and had no issues with flavor. I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was thick with warm pulled pork and very tasty. The onion rings were fried just right. The crisp and crunch were perfect. My friend got the BLT which you just can't go wrong with. The fries were just good. They could've had a bit more crisp to them. We couldn't go wrong with our drinks, we had a beer, a root beer float and water. Our waitress was very attentive throughout our meal. Everyone was friendly and since we got there upon opening, we were one of 3 other tables so we got our meal quickly. Price is reasonable and atmosphere laid back. I wouldn't mind going back and trying out something else on the menu now that I know what to expect.

Service and Food were good. My sandwich was very large and was really tasty! Too many flies in the restaurant though. Ended up taking food to go since I was being attacked by flies the whole time.

Had out of town company and a must is Virginia City. It's a tourist spot with typical tourist attractions. We decided lunch was in order so happened in to the Palace. We hadn't eaten there before so it was an experience. Service was good. Better than I expected. Pleasant, efficient servers. Old time saloon atmosphere. Choices on the menu were plentiful. I had an elk burger and it was tasty. Cooked a little more well done than I prefer, but I'm sure health code has something to do with that. Each of the party had a different item from the menu and everyone was pleased. This was a good choice for lunch in a tourist destination. Priced as expected. I'd recommend.

Hunger struck hard during the Hot August Nights kick off event and thankfully I wandered into this spectacular Burger and Bloody Mary hidden gem! There will be a wait during events, but waitresses said day to day it's pretty cozy and relaxed. I happily shared my HUGE Trash Can Burger and Onion Rings, my bloody Mary had Everything on it, and it's safe to say I left very very happy and full. If you're in Virginia City, this spot is a must try!

Great pastrami Ruben lunch. Plentiful and delicious. Server was very attentive. Good value and authentic atmosphere for the area.

The palace, where they treat you like royalty. first, I recommend sitting at the bar instead of a table. The bar was great. Get the whole tourist experience. The servers do all their own bar tending. The are all behind the bar and we're super friendly. Agreed with another yelper that the fries were not great. They weren't 5 star I had the Palace Burger listed on the menu as a favorite. It was delicious. Certainly recommended!

One of my favorite eateries in Virginia City and they really understand how to make a spicy Bloody Mary! The atmosphere is fun in here-upbeat music playing but not so loud you can't hold a conversation. Service is always great and everyone is so friendly. Today hubby and I shared a BLT with French fries-everything perfectly made!

I always stop here to get a quick drink and snack. Some people plan a whole night around this place. Usually friendly and has good drinks. Sometimes can be loud, sometimes it can be crowded.

Immediately upon being seated, we were accosted by a continuous flow of flies. They were absolutely relentless. When our food arrived, we had to hover over our plates while continuously waving them away. The California chicken sandwich had no flavor at all. The toasted bread was greasy. The sweet potato fries arrived cold and limp. The jalapeño Rueben was greasy as were the onion rings. Needless to say, we'll try another restaurant next time we're through VC!

We were in Virginia city and were hungry so we started looking for food and a lot of choices to choose from.We settled on the palace restaurant.I got my food to go.A cheeseburger with fries and a soda is what I ordered.The food came in about 15 minutes.It was very crowded.The service was awesome.The food was also also awesome.The beef patty was tender and cooked just right.The cheese was perfect as well.The bun was good also The fries were very tasty also .I recommend this place

I had the western burger which was great. I liked the sauce. The fries are very good. Beef and barley soup was very good. Nice atmosphere and we received excellent service. This is right on the historic Main Street in Virginia City.

After seeing other reviews about the Palace Burger, I decided this was going to be my lunch dish. It was more burger than I could eat but it didn't disappoint at all. Probably on the top 5 burgers I have ever had.

Giving this place one star because it won't let me do zero. My family was looking forward to enjoying lunch at this place, but after waiting for over an hour our party got skipped for a larger group. When asked about it, an older lady that had been at the hostess stand looked annoyed with having to be asked about the table status. She was rude, rolled her eyes and eventually just said "wait or get out". Very disappointed in this place. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

A visit to Virginia City would not be complete without a visit to the iconic Bucket of Blood Saloon. It is reminiscent of other authentic Western Saloons, but what sets The Bucket of Blood apart from the rest are the stunning views. Another nice touch is they had live music, even during the early afternoon on a weekday in Spring. I recommend you belly up to the bar and get a Sarsaparilla or adult beverage and envision life back in the 1800s.

We were in VC doing the tourist thing with some relatives when it was decided we were hungry. There are multiple choices for lunch on the main drag, and we'd been to a few (uninspired) but took a recommendation from one of the shop owners to try the Palace. I'm glad we did. In an old building (aren't they all in VC?) it had considerable charm. Big high ceilings, creaky floors, filled with tables and a full bar to the left side for the room. It was boisterous and packed. We got in right before the rush apparently because there quickly was a line waiting to be seated. Waiter was a little harried, but he was a pro. Their menu is extensive, with dozens of sandwiches, salads and some appetizers. So we all had appetizers, salads and sandwiches (plus a few drinks), and it all was excellent. Everything was perfectly prepared, generous portions, and nicely served. Check was less than $100 for lunch and drinks. We've found our new go-to spot in VC! It's better than any other we're tried there, just get there before (or after) the lunch crowd to be sure you can get a seat.

I have never been disappointed in their food! The service is always great, but their food is even better. I recommend all and any Ruben sandwich! The best place to eat in VA City! Highly recommend it!

Rudest battle ax hostess in the world!!!! Avoid this place- smells like Clorox. Service is VERY SLOW. Plan on spending your day there. Bad or no service.

Lots of burgers and sandwiches to choose from and they specialize in the Bloody Mary. Fries are not very good, though, and they come with everything. Also, they should play some period music instead of rock.

This place was really good. I got the fried mushrooms and the reuben sandwich. The fried mushrooms are your typical fried mushrooms. The corned beef in the Reuben however, was amazing. There was zero fat on the meat, I don't think I've ever had one without fat. Inside, they have art/history all over the walls. Customer service was awesome and our server was very attentive.

I wouldn't advise any person of color to go to this establishment. They don't seem to think that we have different skin pigmentation, but the same color blood.
