Palacio Bucarelli, Seville, Spain - Explore & Book

"Built at the end of the 17th century, majestic Palacio Bucarelli has been home to the esteemed Bucarelli family for 4 centuries. After a recent rebirth, it now houses some of the city’s most alluring guest apartments, each enormous and brimming with history, offering a flavour of the Spain-that-was.Stepping inside you leave the rattle and hum of the city’s narrow streets behind. Chalky wafer-bricking, terracotta tiles, pebbled floors and the exuberant colours of the mansion's collonaded courtyards impart a beguiling Sevillano air, as do a trickling fountain, slender cypresses and the scent of orange blossom: the aesthetic code of Moorish Andalucía is never far from you in Seville. Each of the 15 apartments is named after one of the Bucarelli's illustrious forebears, and the antique furniture and tapestries of the family heritage that decorate the rooms evoke the rich history of this grand palace. Breakfast hampers are brought to you each morning, and you’re a shake away from the lively bars and restaurants of the Plaza de San Lorenzo and Calle Eslava, the new foodie hub of the city. Highs You’re well away from the touristy bars and shops surrounding the Cathedral and the Santa Cruz quarterA courtyard plunge pool is a huge plus during hot Sevillano summersRooftop views across Seville’s pantiled skyline are enchantingA good option for families - the apartments are large, each has a kitchenette and some have sofabeds for children, plus there's a dedicated family apartmentWith well-equipped kitchenettes in each apartment you have the option of eating a meal or two en casa Lows There’s no communal guest space apart from the courtyards but the apartments are so large that this isn’t an issueDon’t expect full hotel facilities, though there is round-the-clock assistance in reception along with an honesty bar stashed with snacks and wines from the family bodegaIt’s a 20-minute walk to the heart of town but the whole appeal of this place is that you’re far from the madding crowdIt’s too far to hump luggage from the nearest car park so you’ll need to grab a cab on arrival and departure" - Guy Hunter Watts

Thoroughly enjoyed a 5 night stay in a ground floor double room apartment which was spacious and airy, enhanced by high ceilings. All decor was tastefully in keeping with the palace's early 17th century origins. Of particular note was the powerful and large shower and despite being over 30c outside the apartment stayed nicely cool even without the available air conditioning. |We took out our wicker basket housed breakfasts (ordered online every day before 7pm) to the nearby courtyard area which we found preferable to eating in the room. Coffee and tea making facilities are available there aswell as in the apartment which also has a small kitchenette which we found very useful for making porridge (oats being one of the breakfast options) amongst other things. Another nice touch was the cosy honesty bar area which we used on a few occasions and the courtyard was a lovely location to have pre dinner drinks and nibbles.|A perk of staying in the hotel is a free tour of the adjacent palace and gardens, saving circa 15E per head, and this is very much recommended. The handset audio guide that's provided brings to life the palace's heyday when it was a hive of activity. Some of the upstairs rooms are still lived in so you have to be accompanied for this part of the tour.|There are several good restaurants nearby, with Eslava being recommended. Booking is generally essential. |For those wanting an alternative to fizzy lager, Hops & Dreams bar is a short stroll away and the landlord serves several interesting brews including some which are home brewed.|The city centre is around 25 minutes walk away but as the terrain is flat it's easily reached and most of the walk can be completed under shade provided by buildings as the streets and pedestrian areas are mostly narrow. |All in all an excellent hotel in a quiet neighbourhood.

Palacio Bucarelli is such a hidden gem! We stayed here for a mother/daughter trip and could not have been more satisfied. The hotel is situated about a 15 minute walk from the major tourist attractions of Seville, but the neighborhood is so cozy, quiet, and filled with sweet plazas, cafes, and restaurants (I recommend getting cookies from the cloistered nuns 1 block away). We loved that we were a couple minutes away from the touristy crowds and noise. We booked the apartment with two levels and it was massive! I have never stayed in such a huge hotel room in Europe. It was also meticulously clean. We were beyond comfortable. We enjoyed having a basket of breakfast items delivered to our room each morning. Teresa and Michael at the front desk were hugely helpful to us both and so sweet! We spent a lot of our evenings drinking wine in the beautiful courtyard of the hotel. Guests of the hotel can also tour the historically persevered part of the palacio for free! We were glad we took advantage of that perk as well. It was amazing to go through the old stables, gardens, and rooms filled with art/antiques of the family that has owned the property for hundreds of years. Highly recommend Palacio Bucarelli and hope that we get to stay here again in the future!

We had such a warm greeting on arrival, that was very person centred as we were so tired - special shout out to Rafael, a very nice and genuine chap, nothing was too small to help. The accommodation was beautiful and authentic. We cannot wait to stay again! Perfect location , nice touch with the honesty bar, my wife read her book whilst I tried to soak up the last of the Autumnal rays whilst watching the small birds. Stunning. Thank you so much for your hospitality. Ryan

We stayed here for my sister’s wedding — a group of nine rooms for five nights — and every single one of us had an amazing experience. The staff were outstanding from start to finish, always so quick to respond to any questions and full of great local recommendations. They even came to the rescue when we had a crisis with a missing suit on the morning of the wedding — true lifesavers!||Housekeeping were thorough, friendly, and kept everything spotless throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious, beautifully clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit.||The location was perfect — just outside the hustle and bustle, surrounded by lovely local restaurants and bars, yet only a short walk to the main areas.||I honestly can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s a beautiful place, and the staff truly go above and beyond to make your stay special.

Beautiful hotel in old palacio. The rooms have all necessary amenities to have a comfortable stay. Breakfast is delivered to the room and is lovely. We enjoyed it on our terrace which as a great way to start the day. The hotel also has a shaded courtyard with small pool, which provided a welcome relief from the heat. Staff were very friendly, helpful, welcoming and jovial! We truly felt welcomed. We warmly recommend the Palacio Bucarelli!

The hotel is a beautiful 17th century building a 15 minute walk from all major points of interest. The area is incredibly peaceful with plenty of food and drink available locally. Our room was spacious with air conditioning and a small terrace with a plunge pool that was very welcome on the hot August afternoons. The staff are extremely welcoming, speak good English and are eager to help and ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.

Palacio Bucarelli is a gem. We had Room 6 which came with it's own terrace - lovely on a sunny day. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The kitchen in our room was basic but adequate to cook a light meal. We don't tend to eat out much as finding reliable gluten-free restaurants can be fraught with danger! It would have been nice to have had a small table and chairs within the room as we couldn't always use the terrace or courtyard due to the weather. It was uncomfortable to sit on the bed to eat our meals.||The staff are wonderful. Our first day came with the power cut that affected Spain, Portgual etc. The family called on us personally to check we were okay and gave us a torch and invited us to join them in the courtyard where they were cooking paella for all the guests - so kind. ||The hotel is full of furniture and artefacts from times gone by, which adds to the surroundings, the rooms and courtyard. We took advantage of the tour of the Palacio (where the family live). An amazing building with so much family history going back centuries - highly recommended.||The hotel is in a quiet residential area about 15 minutes from the centre and 25 minutes from the Cathedral and Alcazar and a bit further from Plaza de Espana. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It was a lovely oasis of calm to return to after the busy city. We loved it!

We loved our stay at Palacio Bucarelli. Huge air conditioned room with mezzanine and terrace. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities. |Well located near bars and restaurants, only a 20/ 25-minute leisurely stroll to the main sights and attractions. |Superb, attentive staff who will help in any way they can. |Highly recommended.
