Palacio Bucarelli, Seville, Spain - Explore & Book

"Built at the end of the 17th century, majestic Palacio Bucarelli has been home to the esteemed Bucarelli family for 4 centuries. After a recent rebirth, it now houses some of the city’s most alluring guest apartments, each enormous and brimming with history, offering a flavour of the Spain-that-was.Stepping inside you leave the rattle and hum of the city’s narrow streets behind. Chalky wafer-bricking, terracotta tiles, pebbled floors and the exuberant colours of the mansion's collonaded courtyards impart a beguiling Sevillano air, as do a trickling fountain, slender cypresses and the scent of orange blossom: the aesthetic code of Moorish Andalucía is never far from you in Seville. Each of the 15 apartments is named after one of the Bucarelli's illustrious forebears, and the antique furniture and tapestries of the family heritage that decorate the rooms evoke the rich history of this grand palace. Breakfast hampers are brought to you each morning, and you’re a shake away from the lively bars and restaurants of the Plaza de San Lorenzo and Calle Eslava, the new foodie hub of the city. Highs You’re well away from the touristy bars and shops surrounding the Cathedral and the Santa Cruz quarterA courtyard plunge pool is a huge plus during hot Sevillano summersRooftop views across Seville’s pantiled skyline are enchantingA good option for families - the apartments are large, each has a kitchenette and some have sofabeds for children, plus there's a dedicated family apartmentWith well-equipped kitchenettes in each apartment you have the option of eating a meal or two en casa Lows There’s no communal guest space apart from the courtyards but the apartments are so large that this isn’t an issueDon’t expect full hotel facilities, though there is round-the-clock assistance in reception along with an honesty bar stashed with snacks and wines from the family bodegaIt’s a 20-minute walk to the heart of town but the whole appeal of this place is that you’re far from the madding crowdIt’s too far to hump luggage from the nearest car park so you’ll need to grab a cab on arrival and departure" - Guy Hunter Watts

Palacio Bucarelli is a gem. We had Room 6 which came with it's own terrace - lovely on a sunny day. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The kitchen in our room was basic but adequate to cook a light meal. We don't tend to eat out much as finding reliable gluten-free restaurants can be fraught with danger! It would have been nice to have had a small table and chairs within the room as we couldn't always use the terrace or courtyard due to the weather. It was uncomfortable to sit on the bed to eat our meals.||The staff are wonderful. Our first day came with the power cut that affected Spain, Portgual etc. The family called on us personally to check we were okay and gave us a torch and invited us to join them in the courtyard where they were cooking paella for all the guests - so kind. ||The hotel is full of furniture and artefacts from times gone by, which adds to the surroundings, the rooms and courtyard. We took advantage of the tour of the Palacio (where the family live). An amazing building with so much family history going back centuries - highly recommended.||The hotel is in a quiet residential area about 15 minutes from the centre and 25 minutes from the Cathedral and Alcazar and a bit further from Plaza de Espana. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It was a lovely oasis of calm to return to after the busy city. We loved it!

We loved our stay at Palacio Bucarelli. Huge air conditioned room with mezzanine and terrace. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities. |Well located near bars and restaurants, only a 20/ 25-minute leisurely stroll to the main sights and attractions. |Superb, attentive staff who will help in any way they can. |Highly recommended.

A cross between serviced appartements and a hotel. Palacio Bucarelli is a historical building located in a residential area 15mns walking distance from the main attractions.||Pros:|- authentic flair|- large rooms (we had a 65sqm suite)|- lots of local restaurants and bars around and a stone throw away from the main attractions |- friendly staff |- intimate||Cons:|- strong vis-a-vis with all rooms (but the norm in the city)|- poor breakfast: although they try to make it a nice experience with in-room service, the products are rather poor and no salty offering (no kitchen in the hotel)|- lacks bells and whistles if that matters to you (e.g big screen tv, amenities like a proper bar or onsite restaurant)|- the pool is not a pool but more like a pond |, people don’t really use it||All in all, it’s a decent stay at a 4-star hotel using a beautiful historical building. I would recommend the place for those looking for intimacy and authenticity.

Simply amazing in every way. So quiet. Excellent staff and an amazing location. Room was beautiful. Could not fault anything. Just a walk away from a great choice of excellent restaurants. Lovely breakfast delivered each morning and an excellent honesty bar. Would 100% recommend.

The accommodation was excellent | Immaculately clean and beautiful room with stairs to a private terrace. The downstairs honour bar and seating area among the orange trees is a bonus and the building is just amazing. Staff were excellent especially Nono who checked us in and out. Couldn't recommend the Palacio highly enough. Location is perfect with so many beautiful buildings and little side streets close by. Restaurants are plentiful in the area and we are at Blossom twice and it was excellent.

Beautiful accommodation, the room was so spacious and well maintained. Friendly staff and breakfast was included and a lovely touch. The honesty bar was well priced. It is in an ideal location - San Lorenzo is a gorgeous area with plenty of bars & restaurants and it’s a lovely walk into the centre.

We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas and enjoyed our stay very much. The building is lovely especially the inner courtyard full of orange trees. Our room was spacious, well cared for and comfortable with everything we needed. ||Breakfast was plentiful and set us up for busy days of sightseeing though we would have liked to change our selection rather than have the same things every day but not a minor note. Location is not in the centre so you need to walk to things but we loved this as there are plenty of traditional local bars and restaurants near by plus the huge Almeda square which has lots of options. Staff were professional and friendly and available if needed but we were happy doing our own thing. |It was winter so we didn’t use the outdoor facilities but the pool would be ideal in the summer and the courtyard delightful to take your breakfast. |Lovely stay, highly recommended.
