I liked this hotel a lot. On arrival they offered a refreshing drink or some cava which was very much appreciated and we had a glass before bed too. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and had the biggest bath you’ll ever seen in a hotel room. It took hours to fill but was a lot of fun as were the double showers. The hotel restaurant was very nice indeed. The portions weren’t over-facing and were very tasty and well executed. Service was helpful and cheerful. The room was very smart and clean. Quality bedding and furnishings. Breakfast was a Buffet with a short menu of hot egg dishes made to order which all came with optional bacon. We enjoyed breakfast here and it was high quality.

On May 2025, my wife and I spent several nights at this hotel. Our experience was not a pleasant one, and we do not recommend it. It is supposedly a four star hotel, but in my opinion, it barely makes it to a three star rank. ||The only good side of Palacio Carvajal Giron is its location. Right in the middle of the Old Town, close to many sights, restaurants, and the Main Square. But the bad aspects are numerous.||The room assigned to us was one of the most "depressing" we ever encountered. Small, with a bathroom sink/mirror built next to the bed, and used to separate the open shower stall. There was very little light in the room, with only two small high windows. All you could see was the sky, or the upper floors of some other building nearby.||Nevertheless we settled in the room, and doing that, I was unable to set up the safe box with our personal code. I called the front desk, someone came and was also unable to do it. Went back to the front office, and came back to inform me that the problem was that those boxes do not accept personal codes, I had to use a given cod, which, I was told it was the same for all the safes in the hotel. I must say that I never heard such a problem before.||We found the breakfast to be low quality, and not really appetizing. The breakfast room has fitted with the most uncomfortable chairs and tables I ever encountered. The floor is uneven, and not adequate for the furniture. ||On the morning of our second day, we had a problem with the shower fixtures. The hook holding the shower wand, came off the wall, and that made very difficult to shower. I must also add that the open design of the shower was inadequate, and water leaked out into the rest of the bathroom.||We asked for a room change and the administration graciously agreed to do it. That was a "lucky break" during our stay. The new room was larger, with a balcony leading to a garden, lots of daylight, even some nice tiles on the floor, but still with a bothersome open shower design.||I feel this hotel used the old palace spaces rather poorly, and resulted on a rather low three star lodging. ||I am unable to recommend Carvajal Giron. For sure the Parador nearby would have been much better.

Magical palace to stay in the midst of the old quarters, very well kept. 4 stars hotel well deserved. Excellent housekeeping. Good bar. Near to the attractions. The hotel has for a fee a small parking space which is convenient due that in parking intramuros is not allowed. The winter, the central heating in the restrooms could be improved specifically during the early morning hours.

Upon arrival it was raining and having driven our motorbikes hours under the rain, the reception was not the best. Then a new person came to help and it was all great from that moment. We got good assistance to park our bikes, as you cannot park in the square and the hotel has limited parking spaces. Rooms were great and the hotel is a real nice one, and in a perfect location.

Great. The beautiful room and the comfortable litter. Very nice decoration and good atmosphere. Simple, correct breakfast. To improve the plumbing in the shower (the water did not drain well), the kitchen extractor (everything smelled like cake 😅) and there are no plugs for electric cars in the parking lot. I recommend it!!

Highly recommended. Our car broke down on the way back to the Santander ferry and the breakdown service put us in this hotel for 3 nights. This turned out to be a stroke of good fortune. The 2 receptionists who were on duty for the duration of our stay were outstanding. These ladies made a stressful time bearable and went above and beyond every single day to help us out. All the staff we encountered were friendly and engaging. Breakfast was a substantial buffet and a cooked breakfast was also available. Rooms were quiet although the hotel is very centrally located.

Beautiful hotel with great rooms. The staff are very efficient and helpful. Pet friendly - lovely area where u can eat and drink with your dog. Located just round the corner from the main square where there are an array of bars and restaurants.
