Palacio de Viana

Super charming, calm, quiet space with lots of water features. In winter on a weekday afternoon, not a lot of people. I did gardens/patios (alone) + residence (mandatory guided tour) for 14 euros as a walk-in. In summer/high season, I would reserve in advance. The gardens/patios have little signs (Spanish, English, French). The tour is in Spanish with optional printed supports (ENG, FRE). The two elements are quite distinct, but complimentary. If you’re into gardening, landscape design, architecture, history, photography +/or art history, this will be a good stop. If you hate plants, history and architecture, this probably wouldn’t be lots of fun. Nice gift shop.

A fantastic place to visit, especially for gardeners! This palace was occupied for 500 years by a series of families who gradually crated a series of patios and a garden. We only visited the first floor which included all of the patios. That ticket is 8.50 per person.

You can also visit the house itself with a guided tour, but we only did the walk through the patios of the mansion. Beautiful to look at and very serene and peaceful. Also a lot cooler than the streets in the summer heat.

Gorgeous and inspiring palace! Gardens are amazing !!! Lots of art, furnishings, tapestries, books, even antique guns. When booking the tour a guide will bring you upstairs to visit the private quarters, including the kitchen and explain the origin (different countries) of most of the items. Our tour was in Spanish, but we had a pamphlet in English.

I was going to skip it but glad we didn't. We only visited the gardens and they were stunning. It's very peaceful and well designed and maintained, you just want to keep wandering there for a long time.

Very cute palace with something like 12 gardens! We didn't do the whole tour of the palace but paid only for the gardens. Nonetheless you get a glimpse of what's inside in msny occasions. Worth a visit!

Refreshing step in the dozens of patios of the Palacio de Viana. Entry is 8.50€ p.p and definitely worth it if you have some free time. The best season to visit this place is surely Spring, where many walls are covered with blooming wisteria! 💜

If you love the Spanish gardens, definitely come here. Lots of beautiful courtyards you can walk through with lots of beautiful flowers and plants. Definitely worth a visit!

One of those places that a lot of tourists seem to miss out on but is definitely a must if one wants to enjoy true Spanish Garden splendor. 12 patios (great for photography/photo shoots) and an option for 3 more Euros to take the indoor tour of the palacio. A palacio is basically any fancy home of anyone who is an aristocrat/rich person, so there are many palacios and you don't have to be associated w/ royalty to live in one. 5 Euros to get in, located a little further out from the other attractions. Key Patios: Patio de Gatos (patio of cats) and Patio de naranjas (Patio of oranges). I love this garden place b/c it's not too trimmed and manicured like a French garden but has a nice balanced natural look that is not unkempt. The white walls with blue shutters, fountains, flower pots against the clean white facade is a traditional look that a lot of Spanish patios and places will feature. Andalusian traits tend to be wrought iron fences, painted tiles, white washed walls, flower pots, orange trees, and cobble stone paths. Come here for good photography, less tourists, and for those who love quiet and more private tours of a palacio or Spanish decor. Tip: don't get hung up on the first patio when you first come in for photos... take a look at the rest of the 12 and then decide your photos! My favorite is the one with the blue shutters, vines of oranges looking outside

La Palacio Museo de Viana was one of the highlights of our stay in Cordoba. As you may be aware Cordoba is known for its patios and gardens and the best of which you will find at La Palacio de Viana. I believe there are about 6 to 8 different patios areas which were developed by different families/parties and they have very different themes. Some of the patios have beautiful water features, some have gorgeous fruit trees, some have sculptures and some have a little bit of everything. Note: You probably don't need to get the tour as they give you a pamphlet explaining mostly everything and you'd likely enjoy it more just walking around and taking pictures.
