"A Starwood Luxury Collection hotel in the heart of historic Cuzco, Palacio del Inka occupies a former palace, built by the Incans as part of the Coricancha (the centerpiece of their empire). Since ancient times, it’s had many lives—it was seized by the Spaniards in the 16th century, served as a museum in the 1800s, and finally became a hotel in the 1970s. Today, the property features artwork and artifacts from both the Incan and colonial eras, which guests can tour each day at 5 p.m. Situated around a large central courtyard, the 203 rooms are decorated in a colonial motif, with carved-wood furnishings, jewel tones, and gold accents. Also on-site is a small but very nice spa with a hydrotherapy pool, dry sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool tub, and showers with lighting effects, as well as a small gym with cardio machines and weights. While Palacio del Inka is just a few minutes to Plaza de Armas and its many eateries, guests would be remiss to not dine at least once at the hotel’s Inti Raymi Restaurant, which serves Andean and international dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Before dinner, grab a drink at the Rumi Bar, which offers excellent cocktails and a free pisco tasting each night at 6 p.m."
Why These Travelers Are Spending Their Coronavirus Quarantine in a Hotel
"Stuart Rosenberg from Houston, Texas, who had been on a long-planned trip to Peru with his partner Jose Ocque earlier this month. Since March 16, they’ve been staying at the Palacio del Inka in Cusco."
This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at so far, and when I arrived in Cusco, I chose it as my first stop. From the moment we checked in, the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was beautifully decorated in a charming, traditional style that added to the overall experience.
The service was outstanding. On our first day, my wife became unwell due to the high altitude. I contacted the front desk, and they quickly brought an oxygen tank to our room. The staff were experienced and regularly checked our oxygen levels to ensure we were all okay. They continued this care two to four times a day for both my wife, my sons, and myself.
The breakfast area was lovely, with live music adding a warm ambiance. The food selection was varied and satisfying—especially the hearty chicken noodle soup. Eggs were prepared fresh in any style you preferred.
The hotel’s location was also perfect—right across from a well-known museum and within easy walking distance of many great restaurants.

Fabulous customer service from the moment of checking in to the last moments stepping out. The hospitality is incomparable. Location is great. Everything you can ask for and more. The breakfast spread is amazing (eggs are available made to order). This becomes your one stop shop. Has a local seller in the courtyard with a young alpaca available. Art gallery inside. Hotel has a history tour with inka history. Rooms are comfortable. Lots of amenities, including shoe shine service. Nice touch to not have to track all the dirt around the hotel and pack your shoes into your bag. Great location.

This used to be Pizarro’s house! Anyone who knows Latin American history will definitely find staying here interesting for that fact alone (and appreciate the irony that now it’s called Palacio del Inka). ||Really pleased we stayed here in Cusco. Beautiful hotel, great, perfectly bilingual staff, and Ana in the spa was fantastic. Sometimes even luxe hotels make things a bit complicated but here it’s You want breakfast at 5am to go to Machu Picchu? No problem. You just want a nice coffee to go? Of course we won’t charge you. ||They organised various things for us and gave very helpful shopping advice. ||Getting my Marriott points for it was just the icing on the cake!||Only very minor suggestion: I found the pillows a bit too soft and was surprised they didn’t have any other options. Some more variety would be great.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The inside is impeccably decorated with paintings from the 17th century, real Ican artifacts, and a courtyard that invites book reading and coffee. One of the many aspects that we enjoyed at this hotel were the daily tours and demonstrations arranged from making Pisco sours to salt tasting. The staff is incredibly friendly. One of our favorites was Elmer! He helped us with finding local restaurants to eat at and making sure that we were comfortable while staying in Cusco. This hotel is worth the price. You will be surprised at all that it offers..

We stayed here twice on our trip- first day and last day. We loved both stays. This is a fabulous hotel and a great place to stay in Cusco. The concierge staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. The turn down service with chocolate is amazing. The baby alpaca that wanders around breakfast is like a dream. The breakfast buffet is the best we ever had. There was a harpist! Anyway, most definitely book a stay here. Cusco is a magical city and this is a fantastic little nest to retreat too after exploring the city.

after my son and i completed the inca trail we were exhausted and loved our stay at the palacio. the highlight was this spa and the service Dina provided. She was genuinely nice and asked about our trek and explained the various jets. The price may appear high but the healing properties of one hour there were priceless. Highly recommend. thank you, Dina!

Great experience. Nice quiet room at a historic site. A lot of arts and history in the hotel. Every one was nice and welcoming. Especially the doorman Walter who not only welcomed us when we arrived but also gave a lot of recommendations from local perspectives. Breakfast was great with local tastes. We really enjoyed the stay.
