"A Starwood Luxury Collection hotel in the heart of historic Cuzco, Palacio del Inka occupies a former palace, built by the Incans as part of the Coricancha (the centerpiece of their empire). Since ancient times, it’s had many lives—it was seized by the Spaniards in the 16th century, served as a museum in the 1800s, and finally became a hotel in the 1970s. Today, the property features artwork and artifacts from both the Incan and colonial eras, which guests can tour each day at 5 p.m. Situated around a large central courtyard, the 203 rooms are decorated in a colonial motif, with carved-wood furnishings, jewel tones, and gold accents. Also on-site is a small but very nice spa with a hydrotherapy pool, dry sauna, Turkish bath, whirlpool tub, and showers with lighting effects, as well as a small gym with cardio machines and weights. While Palacio del Inka is just a few minutes to Plaza de Armas and its many eateries, guests would be remiss to not dine at least once at the hotel’s Inti Raymi Restaurant, which serves Andean and international dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Before dinner, grab a drink at the Rumi Bar, which offers excellent cocktails and a free pisco tasting each night at 6 p.m."

A Review of Palacio del Inka

"A 500-year-old mansion set in the heart of Cusco and facing the Qoricancha, this hotel blends Incan foundations with sumptuous Spanish Colonial architecture and modern luxury. The property preserves classical stone archways, vast courtyards and balconies, and suites in the Casona de los Cuatro Bustos that were part of a 15th-century colonial residence; throughout the hotel are 195 pieces of colonial artwork, including 60 original paintings from the Cusqueña Art School. An original Incan stone wall more than 200 feet long runs through the impressive hotel bar and features the famed Stone of 8 Angles, while guided tours trace the site’s Pre-Inca, Inca, Colonial and Republican history. Rooms are ornate — deep golds and burgundies with dark wood finishes, sunny lighter walls, and marble bathrooms with tubs and showers — and the property houses the Andes Spirit Spa, the city’s only thermal-circuit spa, complete with an arched waterfall pool. Dining highlights include the Inti Raymi restaurant, which serves traditional Peruvian dishes using local ingredients, and the Rumi Bar, known for its long history of serving Pisco Sours and for views of the Incan wall. Practical perks and amenities include a daily breakfast buffet for two, complimentary Wi‑Fi, spa, fitness center, swimming pool, concierge, ballroom and meeting spaces, and book-with-us benefits such as upgrade on arrival (subject to availability), complimentary round-trip private airport transfers, early check-in/late-check-out (subject to availability), and a welcome amenity; the hotel has 203 rooms with rates starting around $255/night, and the closest airport is Cuzco Airport."

Everything and everyone was wonderful. We had a great time before and after our Salkantay Trek experience. The front desk, concierge, and specially Guido at the restaurant were excellent. The staff goes out of their way to help and make you feel special. Rooms are spacious, clean and welcoming. The location can’t be beat. Great restaurants in the area as well and very central to walk anywhere in Cusco. Highly recommended. Thank you all!

Beautiful, elegant and historical property. One of the best Luxury Collection Hotels I have stayed in, on par with Hotel Alfonso XIII Seville. Full disclosure, we booked a one bedroom suite (No.460) with air-conditioning that provided marvellous views from the terrace. Breakfast was a buffet with a small ala carte menu offerings of mainly eggs and toast dishes. There was a harpist serenading us on our last day. A definite must stay should your travels bring you to Cusco

We stayed at the Palacio Del Inka. The hotel is beautiful. The entire hotel is gorgeous and historical. The breakfast buffet is incredible. My wife loved the baby llama. A highlight was the pisco sour tasting experience in the evening at the Bar Rumi. The bartender Daniel Yto gave an amazing lesson on the history of pisco and taught us how to make great pisco sours.

This is a lovely hotel in Cusco. Walkable to the main square and several other activities. I wouldn't call it "plush" But, it is a hotel built from/into a historical building. The authenticity and character are fantastic! Service was good. It has a restaurant and bar. You feel as if you are staying in an old monastery or school, although I don't think that is what it was.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at so far, and when I arrived in Cusco, I chose it as my first stop. From the moment we checked in, the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was beautifully decorated in a charming, traditional style that added to the overall experience. The service was outstanding. On our first day, my wife became unwell due to the high altitude. I contacted the front desk, and they quickly brought an oxygen tank to our room. The staff were experienced and regularly checked our oxygen levels to ensure we were all okay. They continued this care two to four times a day for both my wife, my sons, and myself. The breakfast area was lovely, with live music adding a warm ambiance. The food selection was varied and satisfying—especially the hearty chicken noodle soup. Eggs were prepared fresh in any style you preferred. The hotel’s location was also perfect—right across from a well-known museum and within easy walking distance of many great restaurants.

We spent one night at the inka palace with family after a long trip on the salkantay trek. ||This hotel is incredible, the stunning architecture, the historic decor not to mention the in tact Inca stones inside!||But aside from the wonderful nature of this building I would say the service was outstanding. I would like to mention two people who I can confidently state were very helpful, Goyo and Christian, both in holding our luggage and organizing our taxi. ||They are such hard working people. ||Again thank you for the lovely experience

Loved, loved, loved this hotel! Beautiful grounds with fountains, flowers and tranquil landscaping. Our room was large and very comfortable, as was the bathroom. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was delicious! Perfect stay for a visit to Machu Picchu!
