22 Best Hotels in Buenos Aires

"The onetime headquarters of the army club, Circulo Militar, Palacio Paz is a magnificent Belle Epoque building that is considered one of the best examples of French architecture in the city. Attached to the 1890s-era building is a newer structure with a similar façade and accommodations that once welcomed visiting army guests. During the pandemic, the structure and army apartments were converted into a boutique hotel with 56 minimalist but comfortable guestrooms that call to mind an Ace Hotel in the Pacific Northwest. Set on the ground level, Moby Dick is a cozy little restaurant with an American vibe and a menu that will appeal to most everyone—think avocado toast, burgers and fries, steak or salmon with grilled vegetables, gnocchi, and milanesas, the breaded veal steak that’s beloved by every porteño." - Celeste Moure

Palacio Paz Hotel — Buenos Aires | Condé Nast Traveler

"Why book? A Belle Epoque building expansion offers minimalist rooms with views of a plaza in lively Retiro enclave. The backstory The onetime headquarters of the army club, Circulo Militar, Palacio Paz is a magnificent Belle Epoque building that is considered one of the best examples of French architecture in Buenos Aires . Set the scene Set across from Plaza San Martin and a short walk from the iconic opera house Teatro Colon, Palacio Paz hotel attracts laidback Gen-Xers and Millennial travelers mostly from the Americas and Europe. Just beyond the check in desk is a restaurant and bar where breakfast is served, and where guests hang out in the afternoon for a glass of wine or cappuccino. The rooms Simplicity is the name of the game within the soundproof rooms, which feature herringbone wood floors, a white-on-white palette and just a touch of heather gray in the upholstered sofa or headboard. Some of the bigger rooms might feature an Arne Jacobsen-inspired egg chair, also in gray. Instead of closets, you’ll find free-standing shelving units big enough to store a week’s worth of clothing. Executive rooms offer separate bedroom and working area, which is big enough for a crib or rollaway bed if traveling with a kid. Food and drink Set on the ground level, Moby Dick is a cozy little restaurant with an American vibe and a menu that will appeal to most everyone—think avocado toast, burgers and fries, steak or salmon with grilled vegetables, gnocchi, and milanesas, the breaded veal steak that’s beloved by every porteño. The neighborhood/area Retiro is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, known for its historic monuments, art galleries, museums, and upscale shops. Plaza San Martin, right across the street from the hotel, is a lively park with a monument to Argentina’s national hero and liberator. Head to Calle Florida, a pedestrian only shopping street known for souvenirs, fast fashion and leather good stores. For more upscale shopping, visit Galerias Pacifico, a mall with an impressive frescoed dome. The service The staff is relaxed and friendly.  Accessibility Some wheelchair accessible rooms. Anything left to mention? Don’t skip a tour of the Palace next door, which also has a restaurant, Croque Madam, with a gorgeous outdoor garden." - Celeste Moure

In the last three weeks I have stayed at this hotel on two different occasions. When I returned for the second visit I did not even consider staying at a different hotel. Only upon my arrival for the second visit did I realize I had forgotten to make the actual reservation online, however, Lourdes at the front desk was very patient and accommodating to get me checked in. Both rooms that I’ve had assigned were very clean with bright white linens and towels. The breakfast is quite good however they only have scrambled eggs as the hot item. The coffee is very good and the orange juice has pulp in it. Delicious. I recommend paying slightly more and getting a room with a park view. It’s beautiful, especially at night. I will definitely be back at this hotel next year.

Beautiful hotel architecture. Best location in the city in my opinion. Close to many good places. The staff in reception so friendly and helpful. Made everything easy and nice. Even gave me great suggestions of great local pizza and shopping.

Amazing venue - great pillows, great rooms, LOURDES was terrific. VERY friendly, spoke perfect English, great breakfast and the more pleasant experience. LOVE this place and the people who work here. The location was the best ever. Near buses and subways. They even offered me a SUBE card. We had a suite - and I recommend that. We faced the main square, which was so beautiful every morning. ||ALL of the staff was truly wonderful - Lourdes was the best for emailing me all the time and responding and accommodating us, but none of them were less than that. They were all truly spectacular. No complaints whatsoever. LOVE this place.

The reception staff we're some of the friendliest and most personable we've met. The hallways leading to the rooms on our floor were very dark, and unnerving, and our room felt very chopped up and claustrophobic. The breakfast was good and the coffee was great. Even so we would certainly stay here again. Location was good

Positives include a convenient location in the heart of the city; good value pricing, with a decent breakfast included; and excellent service. Negatives include a lack of wall hooks and storage space.

Very nice location and helpful and friendly staff. The great thing about this hotel is the value. ||Didn't pay much for such a spacious room. I really wasn't expecting much but pleasantly surprised at how great the staff was. I would definitely stay here again.

This boutique hotel has been the highlight of my Buenos Aires trip. The hotel is relatively new, rooms are spacious and clean, staff is very kind and helpful, location is amazing and brownie points to the carefully curated art/ paintings❤️. This is the place I will stay again when I am back to Burnos Aires. Many thanks for being a great host!🙏

It wasn’t our choice. We got moved here by our original hotel because they had issues and we only needed a room for a night. It sounded good when they tried to convince us of the move. Not like we had much of a choice.|The “suite” looked OK for one night. However the hotel and room we were assigned fronted the main road. The room was not sound proof. We heard every car, every bus that passed by. Breakfast itself was in the bar at the front of the lobby. Bread was stone hard and cold and the coffee was lukewarm. Worst breakfast we ever had in a month of staying at hotels in Argentina.
