Another beautiful building where you can also rent flats. I had a great time visiting this building! It has some stunning views over montevideo!

Palacio Salvo is an iconic landmark in Montevideo and a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring the rich history of the city. This historic building not only offers incredible architecture but also provides one of the best views of Montevideo from its rooftop. The experience of seeing the city from such a high vantage point is truly breathtaking. The building organizes guided tours during the day, each lasting around 45 minutes. Some tours are conducted in English, which is convenient for international visitors. However, tickets for these tours are only available in person, so you’ll need to show up to secure your spot. The tour takes you through the most significant floors of the building and ends with a visit to the rooftop, where the panoramic views are worth every moment. One of the highlights of the tour is the Tango Museum located inside Palacio Salvo. It's fascinating to delve into the history of tango music and its cultural significance in the region. The museum adds an extra layer of depth to the visit, making it both educational and entertaining. Overall, Palacio Salvo is a historical gem that combines stunning architecture, cultural enrichment, and spectacular views. It’s an experience that captures the essence of Montevideo and is highly recommended for history and culture enthusiasts alike.

The building is beautiful. I did a tour but it was entirely in Spanish. I had a hard time keeping up but the tour guide was very friendly. The view at the top is stunning!

It's impossible not to notice Palacio Salvo. I first noticed it by sitting on the top open deck of Montevideo's Historic bus route. On another day, I took the tour inside the building ( Tango museum is included ) The day was clear and I was able to see the cruise ship at the port and other buildings from the 23 floor. Beautiful exterior architecture, but the entry fee for both the Edificio Palacio Salvo and the Tango Museum are $550 UYU pesos which is very expensive compared to other museums in the area, so decided not to go in. There is a view from the top included in the price.

From outside the building is nice but inside nothing so much to see, mostly are non public offices and apartments. And the guide tour was only in spanish. I went for sunset but we started 15 min late so we missed it. Not sure it's worth 550 pesos. For just view there are other places for free.

Good place to stay when visiting as a tourist. It might be pretty dated, but it's iconic and has good tours.

Not accessible for wheelchairs! This building is really stunning - not only for its history and the one of the idea givers but also for its present-day use! Our two guides, Emily and Fausto were passionate and knowledgeable and applied most of the guiding skills I'm looking for in a guide. My compliments. They also answered questions and took good care of the participants. The ride in the historic elevator is a treat and the view from the roof is even more so. Watch out for tours in the evening. There are special ones with a drink for sunset...
