Paid underground parking but walk from and to it using the map supplied by the hotel. If you try and drive it will take you forever. The rooms including bathrooms ar spacious and very comfortable. There are many restaurants within walking distance. They do not open until 8.30 to 9pm but then they really come to life.

We stayed here overnight & had the Christopher Columbus suite & a separate triple room( parents & child). The location is excellent as everything can be reached on foot. The hotel was sympathetically restored & everything was clean & immaculate. The bathrooms & showers were modern. The breakfast arrangements are weird as there are little tables in the inner courtyard but no indication of what is involved....we ended up eating an Andalusian breakfast at the Triana bar. A lift in the hotel was appreciated as for people with mobility issues the stairs would have been a challenge perhaps.||Close to the Cadiz ferry/catamaran but we had an unpleasant encounter with the ticket seller as insisted masks were compulsory but in fact the majority did not wear masks & nobody checked!!!||We were short of two masks but a kind couple saved us. Book the return trip ticket as you can be stranded! Bars & restaurants close their kitchens from 2.00-9.30 so drinks only!🤦‍♀️

2 nights spent here. The building & history is really amazing. Grand large bedroom & bathroom, room has good air con, wifi worked very well, mini bar and good size seating area in room. Didn't bother with breakfast as there are many cafes in the surrounding area. Hotel is very clean, our room shower & sink were blocked so water rises! Not nice. Don't previous guests complain?!? Or why doesn't the cleaner notice it when doing the room ready for next check in? We complained twice. They sorted the shower & forgot the sink. Hotel receptionist does the minium, no offer of a map and completely didn't mention a massive weekend local holiday & religious celebration happening in the town while we were here. Would have been nice to have known what it was all about, we were grateful to be here while it was on. Just surprised the hotel staff never mentioned a word. Overall great location & clean hotel for a one/two nights stop over

A lovely hotel with immaculate, well appointed bedrooms off a Spanish courtyard. The location is very central for the port and sights of the old town and parking was free on the street. The property had lots of character and it would have been good if this had come through in the service. The reception staff were polite and efficient but lacked a bit of personality, no real warm welcome or help with directions, maps etc were offered and the reception area is often not manned as guests are given a key to the front door. I would stay here again but felt a little warmth was lacking, the personal touch which one would expect in a small characterful establishment like this.

Loved the hotel! Booked a superior room on top floor facing the street. Very nice room and bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful and booked all our excursions for us. There is a really pretty courtyard to relax in or take breakfast. Personally I would go out to a local cafe. El Puerto is very cheap to eat and drink! Fabulous breakfast for four less than 8 euros in cafe by Castille De San Marcos. We actually parked the car on the street outside hotel for free. There is always plenty of parking! Will definitely stay here again next time we visit this amazing town

A beautiful old Palace type hotel. We had the king size bed. It was very comfortable. The only drawback was facing the street. Beautifully decorated room with a wonderful shower. The continental breakfast was delicious. Assorted cheeses, meats, croissants, yogurts, fruit, fresh orange juice and tea or coffee. No complaints.||||Our only drawback was trying to find the place, but once we found a travel agent who had us follow her to the hotel, all was great.

A very understated hotel, with minimal obvious staff presence, more akin to staying in a private residence.||Large comfortable room, with good sized bathroom (and wi-fi!).||||They offer two breakfast options and we chose the Continental, expecting the usual help-yourself buffet. What we got was everything you'd expect on that buffet, but served to us at the table - far more than we wanted or could eat. Very tasty, but if I was returning I might opt to take breakfast in the town.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and both times had a deluxe room. The room is large and very comfortable with everything we would wish for and includes a minibar - the access to a fridge is useful.|The staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent, beautifully presented and with plenty of food and good coffee.|We love El Puerto de Santa Maria as it is quiet and not at all touristy with fantastic food and sherry. Recommend getting the ferry to Cadiz.
