"Palais Amani is one of the most romantic Fes riad dining experiences. Tinkling fountains? Check. Orange trees strung with twinkling lanterns? Check. Rose petals strewn hither and thither? Check. Start your meal with a rooftop aperitifto admire the 360-degree views of the medina, or with a beefy red wine fireside in the lounge instead; then, feast on chef Houssam Laassiri’s modern spin on traditional dishes like slow-cooked beef tagine or confit duck with prunes, as well as a divine chocolate mousse. The restaurant hosts occasional pop-ups, too, featuring celebrated chefs from the U.K. and Europe, so keep an eye on the hotel's website for what’s up next."

"A nondescript doorway down an alleyway deep in the medina conceals one of the city’s largest and most beautifully restored palaces. Converted in 2010 to a riad-style accommodation with a five-star approach to service—Amani offers personalized hammam experiences, turndown service, and a 24-hour concierge—the 14-room hotel centers around an exquisitely tiled and citrus-perfumed courtyard that in the evening plays host to a market-driven Moroccan restaurant that serves a faithful rendition of Fez’s classic dish, the bastilla, an indulgent dish that sees rich pigeon meat wrapped in flaky filo pastry dusted with cinnamon and sugar."
Palais Amani, a Design Boutique Hotel Fes, Morocco
"Palais Amani is located with the walls of Fez’s ancient medina, just a few minutes’ walk from the Golden Triangle. It offers free Wi-Fi internet access and has a hammam.
Housed in a former palace, the hotel provides a range of spacious rooms and suites. Each is traditionally furnished and has en suite facilities.
A daily Morrocan breakfast is served in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the garden. The hotel’s restaurant provides an a la carte lunch menu and evening set menu offering a range of Morrocan and French cuisine.
A range of beauty treatments is available, including massage, facials and oriental manicures." - My Boutique Hotel (en)
"For many first-timers in Morocco, Marrakech is an intense enough introduction. But if you want to dive deep into this country’s history and tradition — and avoid some of the crowds and much of the mass tourism industry — you just might find that Fes is more your speed. And Palais Amani is just what you need: a classic riad hotel, a luxe eighteen-room lodging built from a restored 17th-century palace." - Tablet Hotels
So glad we found Palais Amani -- it saved our trip to Fez. We actually moved here after foolishly booking at the Palais Ommeyad up the hill (avoid that place). Amani had beautiful rooms, a lovely hammam, wonderful breakfasts, and attentive kind staff. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous hidden gem in the midst of the Medina. Lovely luxury details, warm friendly service, solid WiFi. A beautiful inner courtyard full of chirping birds and a rooftop bar and restaurant. Excellent!

Hammam spa was incredible for a first time experience! Riad was bespoke and beautiful! We traveled as a family of 3. Separate enough to have comforts of home while experiencing the warm personality of Fes. The architecture of Palais Amani was incredible! Every detail is remarkable from the mosaics to the stained glass, to the plastering to the cedar carvings. |The hospitality was incredible, we felt very welcome with personalized introductions and a lovely tea welcoming moment, we will never forget.

We made the trek down to the tanneries and we're struck by not only the stench of the chemicals but also by the increasingly aggressive tactics of the "guides" attempting to swindle you with bad directions. We thought the Amani would be a nice escape. The building itself was nice but the service was painfully slow and our Negroni's were about half the pour you would expect in a cocktail, even if only 120Dhm. They also tried to tack on a 10 percent service fee for a table of two. ||There are many other nicer areas to shop and eat in the medina.... it's not worth the trip here.

This hotel was the highlight of our accommodations in Morocco. Loved the traditional room design, with the right amount of modern touches. Service was extraordinary, so personal and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this to anyone looking for an elevated experience.

Fabulous place. Our room was a three room suite and it was incredible. The decor in the rooms is something out of a movie. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. Everything was spotless. I would highly recommend this riad to anyone for a once-in-a-lifetime stay!

What an amazing hotel. It truly is a hidden oasis at the edge of the medina. As soon as you enter, the staff cannot do enough for you. The breakfast was lovely, and we also had an evening meal and a tapas which were great too. The place is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are beautiful. The staff wait on you hand and foot and are lovely. I will definitely be returning.
