The Grand Palais Is Set to Reopen in Time for the Olympics

"A historic monument in Paris, the Grand Palais is renowned for its magnificent glass roof, the largest in Europe. Since its debut at the 1900 Paris Exposition, it has hosted a variety of cultural events including fashion shows, art exhibitions, and soon, events for the Summer Olympics. The building has undergone significant architectural transformations to improve accessibility and visitor experience, and it is entering a new era of festive and cultural engagements."

"A kid can spend only so much time in “Isn’t that pretty, don’t touch, be quiet” museums. Parisian families looking for rainy-day activities where kids can be themselves head to the Discovery Palace. Located in the western wing of the Grand Palais, this hands-on science museum has exhibits and experimentson everything from chemistry to life sciences to the stars. Watch as real scientists test their theories, play fun math games, andchallenge your memory. It's fascinating toexplore the subjects that your little scientists are most drawn to, or to uncover the ones that make them want to run and hide."

Palais de la Découverte is a fantastic science museum in Paris that's perfect for curious minds of all ages. The exhibits cover a wide range of topics, from physics and astronomy to biology and chemistry, with many interactive displays that make learning fun and engaging. The planetarium is a highlight, offering a mesmerizing look at the stars. The museum is located in a beautiful historic building, adding to its charm. It's a great spot for families, students, or anyone with a passion for science. Highly recommend spending a few hours here!

I wanted to love this museum more than I did. For an English speaking visitor, I could not enjoy the experiments or interactive rooms. Most if not all the demonstrations are done in 100% French. Regardless, it was a fun place to explore and play especially with children. I love that this museum has many things built on their eye level. You’ll enjoy even watching other children not yours discover science! This museum participated in the Paris Museum Pass. I highly recommend the pass for visitors traveling to Paris.

We were able to see the Poison expo which was cool since there are live animals on display (snakes, frogs, lizards, spiders). We spent half a day here since there are a lot of interactive displays. Permanent displays are mostly in french (80% french). Really enjoyed it as a science museum fiend.

Staffs are friendly and kind, they explained in details before selling the ticket to you. All items are explained in french, some of them supplemented with english. The museum is good for people who loves science from primary to tertiary level. It is an air-conditioning place, however, some experiments and exhibits generate heat, the temperature is a bit high there.

Fabulous time here, much better than the cité des science et de l'industrie. Multiple lectures on all the subjects, hands on physical interactive displays rather than totally dependant on technology, like prisms and diffraction gratings rather than interactive computer programs. Plus see teenage girls zapped in a Faraday cage with 300kV. Great day out

Didn't meet my expectations, though being overall good. PLANETARIUM program is for children, adults would find it BORING. Again, the evolution of science events are presented very interestingly. The good thing is - there are some games for teens.

A beautiful place with patinate scientist. A must to visit, prepare to spend a full day there. Only wished they had air conditioning.... If too hot, just hide in the rat school, one of the place with AC....

Yelp
After a long trip in Paris, I wanted to visit other places and found this one. Very interesting about all topics of science (astronomy, electricity and so on). Everything is written in French so be careful otherwise you would be badly surprise. I recommend only for tourist who can read French.

Yelp
After reading many recommendations online for this museum, I thought it'd be the perfect spot to take my kiddo. Unfortunately, since all of the blog posts I read were written by English speakers, it did not occur to me that we would not be able to understand much of what we were looking at because all of the placards were in French. Well, duh, of course they were. Maybe if I had a pocket translator, we would have gotten more out of it. But with my limited French, most everything was lost on us. So if you're not multilingual, I don't recommend it.
