"And for those whose interest in fashion leans toward the historical or academic, you’re just around the corner from two of the city’s best museums: the Palais Galliera and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris." - Liam Hess

Beautiful building and garden but the price is too high for the very small gallery they have in the ground floor. The upper floors are not open. In any case it's worth a visit if you are passionate about fashion. It’s very interesting to see what people used to wear.

A beautiful building and a gorgeous garden. Don’t go inside but went to the markets across the street then sat in the grounds and soaked up the beauty. The flowers are just blooming and the whole place is restful and lovely

Excellent, small museum! Around 1 hour I think is enough, but totally worth the price. We were incredibly lucky to visit when the Stephen Jones exhibition was on, which was brilliant. A huge collection of his work, expertly laid out and with music to boot. The history of fashion is also good - nothing that will blow your mind but good pieces and plenty to look at. Definitely recommend this for any fashion minded visitors to Paris, and far surpasses the meagre and disappointing YSL museum

Beautiful fashion museum, pretty small but it is worth it. Was able to see fashion through the years, they constantly change their exhibits as well.

A true highlight of our visit to Paris. At the time of our visit an exhibition of Stephen Jones was running, which was not only enlighting, it was also gracefully presented, maintaining our interest an artfully directing our focus at the correct items on display. Afterwards a visit to the permanent collection is never a bad idea.

I guess this is a small museum, but the really cool part is the entire outdoor area, which, in my case when I was there was used for a reception event as part of a conference. The museum is indoor and sort of underground. Not necessarily a place you want to spend hours in. But it is also small and you don’t have to the outdoor area especially the backyard that has the scenic view to the Eiffel Tower is absolutely fabulous. Cool spot to have receptions and social events.

I visited Palais Galliera in March 2025 and saw Stephen Jones exhibition. It was beautiful and informative. Staff at the ticket desk was least friendly and least helpful in telling me what was on in the museum, where to go and what’s interesting to see and experience in there.

The Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris is must visit museum when in Paris. Small, but such an aesthetically pleasing place, both the outside and the inside. The current exhibition - Stephen Jones, chapeaux d’artiste - is an absolute masterpiece. Never thought chapeaux could be sooo beautiful, the level of detail, creativity is impressive.🤍

Yelp
Came for the Fashion Big Bang exhibit which was showcasing the impact of 1997. Vogue Paris magazine defined the 1997 Spring-Summer haute couture season as the 'Big Bang' that Paris needed in order to regain its place as the international capital of fashion. We saw outrageous, decadent, and mind blowing designs. We saw videos of the Fashion Week runways where Gucci presented the "G" string; Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler & others were coming into their own while the legendary French fashion houses were taken over by a new generation of British designers, with Alexander McQueen at Givenchy and John Galliano at Christian Dior Loved the setup, loved the descriptions, loved the videos. Bravo!

Yelp
I was so excited to get to go to the fashion museum of Paris! They had a special exhibit on display - The Big Bang - about the transformational year that 1997 was for the fashion industry. I didn't know anything about this and as a fashion major, I found this exhibit to be useful, informative, interesting and fun! On the other hand, I was very disappointed to learn that the Gabrielle Chanel exhibit (my fashion icon and the sole purpose for us to visit this museum) was closed for renovations and won't be opened again until June of this year. Such a bummer!! Apparently due to this exhibit being closed, the only one available for viewing was the Big Bang - meaning I spent €15 for entry to one exhibit that took less than one hour to view. I was pretty bummed about this. I'll be back one day for the Chanel exhibit, that's for sure! Though next time, I'll be sure to check that this exhibit is open.

Yelp
I love this little museum! The exhibits are forever changing so check ahead of time on their web site. The exhibit I visited was themed, "Who Wears What?" They had pieces from Marie Antoinette to Napolean and Josephine all the way to pieces worn by Audrey Hepburn as well as more contemporary run-way pieces from Jean-Paul Gauthier. They lose a star for not allowing photographs

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this museum! The exhibits include some of the most incredible articles of fashion/art. Anyone that can appreciate fashion as well as the history of costume should visit this place at least once in their lives.

Yelp
Lovely interior and exterior to this museum. Awesome for people insterested in fashion. I went a couple of years ago for a display of dresses from the 10s and 20s! Cheap and surrounded by other museums as well!

Yelp
The architect of the Galliera Palace was inspired by Italian Renaissance art. Léon Ginain constructed a Neo-Renaissance mansion on the outskirts of Paris at the end of the 19th century for the Duchess of Galliera. She left the palace to the city of Paris in her will. The elegant building was reconstructed recently and is currently the Fashion Museum. Thematic, temporary exhibits show the changes in Parisian fashion from the 1700s until today. The mansion is closed to visitors most of the year.
