Palais-Hotel Erzherzog Johann

Our one-night stay in Graz was a delightful experience. We arrived early and were pleased to find that the hotel could accommodate us by securely storing our luggage while we explored the city. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive, ensuring a warm welcome and a seamless check-in process. The room, though compact, was impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort and functionality. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, allowing us to enjoy a restful night’s sleep after a day of sightseeing. The following morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast, featuring a variety of fresh and flavorful options that provided the perfect start to another day of exploring Graz’s vibrant attractions. Overall, the Erzherzog Johann exceeded our expectations in both service and comfort. We would not hesitate to choose this accommodation again for future visits to Graz.

I stayed here for a night on Christmas Eve, and while the location is unbeatable, unfortunately, that's where the positives end. While the hotel has made an effort to preserve its historic charm, a bit more attention to comfort is needed. The staff, however, were excellent and very helpful. Unfortunately, the rooms are in need of a makeover – the beds were uncomfortable, and the bathroom could use some improvements. The breakfast was mediocre at best – honestly, McDonald's offers better options.

Getting there was a nightmare... because we were driving. The address sent us to a parking garage which confused us. THere should be better directions. We called and they had to patch us through to a couple of people to help us. Once it was explained that you go to the shopping mall parking lot, and then once there park, and take the elevator up to the graound floor of the department store. Exit the department store and turn right... to the hotel... which was close to the corner.||Our room was nice, with the window out to a courtyard. The linen, bed, bathroom was comfortable, There were two chairs and small table as well.||Breakfast was fine. extra money.... but a buffet with the basic cereal, bread, eggs ham cheese etc... Not memorable.||THe hotel has a beautiful plant covered courtyard which is in the middle of the walkways that go to the bedrooms ( sort of like a. Hilton Garden Inn style)....||The staff was pleasant. ||Would we return? Probably not, except the location was great. Just a few seconds from the Christkindlmart and we had a nice dinner at an Austrian restaurant across the road. There was a lot of shopping close by.

This hotel is right in the middle of the old part of the city so we were able to walk everywhere. |It has spacious rooms and is full of old world charm. If you want to stay somewhere unique and central this hotel is an outstanding choice. |There are plenty of food options including a small supermarket all within close walking distance. We walked to the hotel from the station others may prefer to take the tram. |I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed for two nights at this historic hotel in a double room. The atmosphere was astounding. Many details have not been changed since 1852. The actual loyout of the rooms is from 1952. The bathroom and the electricl outlets have, however, been changed more recently. The effect is an amazingly quiet and spacious hotel. The high ceilings provided additional comfort. The bed was firm and warm. The personnel was very friendly. The location could not be better in the center of Graz.

We spent three lovely nights at this beautiful old hotel. Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The floors creaked a bit with the age of the building but it was all part of the charm. The staff were excellent and the breakfast room was also good. The location of the hotel was excellent to completely explore everything in Graz - castle site, museums, restaurants bars and shops

Nice historical building and location but the facilities are not great. Breakfast was rudimentary and the water was barely flowing in the shower.
