Palais Le Brun (Valletta, Malta) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s not the only seventeenth-century Baroque palace in town — in Valletta, Malta, Baroque architecture is a seemingly inexhaustible resource. But the Palais Le Brun is unique all the same. It’s the execution perhaps more than the concept that makes it such a remarkable hotel: once the residence of the leader of the Knights of Malta, it’s now a 39-room boutique hotel that sacrifices little in terms of either comfort or atmosphere in the course of its transformation into a modern lodging." - Tablet Hotels

Palais le Brun is in a beautifully renovated old building. It is in a quiet street but a few minutes walk to the main tourist areas of Valletta.||We had a courtyard facing room on the 4th floor. It was cool and quiet so we slept very well but as others have mentioned these rooms are dark even when the sun is shining, so if we stayed again we would choose a room with a little balcony and street view. It had a comfortable bed, sofa, and great walk in shower but there didn't appear to be any English channels on the television.||All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them.||Breakfast was served in the basement. We never had a problem getting a table but it is a tight space to move around. There is a selection of hot dishes to choose from as well as the buffet and everything was fresh, tasty and constantly replenished. A disappointment was only instant decaff coffee - however that appeared to be the norm on Malta. Regular coffee came from a self service machine.||The roof top terrace was a lovely place to relax after a day of sightseeing, most of it was shady in the afternoon. There is a bar serving drinks. It seemed too cool to try the unheated pool in May but it looked very inviting.||If you have mobility problems this probably isn't the place for you, it is almost at the bottom of a steep hill and there is a lot of renovation work going on in nearby buildings so the pavements are uneven or even closed.||We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Wonderful small hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was great with a wide spread and a number of hor options and limitless tea and coffee, it really set us up for the day. The rooftop pool was lovely with a bar and snacks available and there was always room to sit and relax. Only 4 stars on the room and there was only one small window which looked out over a service shift, not really a problem but would have liked to see a bit more.

This is a beautiful little boutique hotel in the middle of Valletta with most attractions within walking distance. The service was superior, and the breakfasts were terrific.|The rooms are well-appointed with very comfortable beds. We had a problem with the A/C, and the staff offered to call someone in at 8pm to fix it, but we told them we could wait until the next day. It is a bit of a rabbit warren underground to find your way around to the breakfast area, but it is well lit and the staff will direct you. Two of the staff Marvey and May Ann, I hope I got the names right, were spectacular employees going above and beyond at every encounter.

Excellent location close to everything yet a quiet street. Taxi service right to the door. |The staff was very friendly, helpful, polite and pleasant. We appreciated the 24/7 desk reception as we had to depart for the airport at 4am. |The hotel had the old world charm with modern renovations. A very comfortable stay. The breakfast was outstanding with buffet selections and made to order choices. We enjoyed the rooftop patio and pool. We felt right at home when we returned to the hotel later in the week before our departing flight.

The hotel is just perfect. The room is so beautiful with its good tasting decorations. The staff are really kind and helpful. And we loved the breakfast as well! As we have had an very early checkout, we have got each a breakfast bag with delicious sandwiches, fruit and juice. Thank you for the wonderful stay! We definitely highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent hotel, although breakfast and rooftop pool bar snacks is the only food served on site. But the location is so good it didn't really matter as so many restaurants are a 5 minute walk away. And yet the hotel is quiet in this part of the amazing old walled city of Valletta. Recommended.

Beautiful Hotel. all amenities were catered for. This hotel holds a special place with us, as it used to be my Great Grandmothers home many many years ago. We decided to stay here after a brief visit in 2024. The hotel is made up of 39 rooms from rooms to suites. We stayed in room 13, very clean very well attended to by the staff. Arrival was incredibly easy the room was clean and beautifully present. A mix of modern and various antiquities. ||The hotel offers only bed and breakfast which was fresh every morning, with a selection of fresh cooked options. Again nothing to much. As for evening meals there is an over abundance of restaurants just minutes from where the hotel is situated in Republic Street and Merchant Street. ||Roof top pool, sunbeds always available and the views while whiling away hours in the pool were fantastic. ||The staff were phenomenal, everyone so courteous and welcoming. One person we'd like to single out was Ana May, Ana was lovely, an absolute professional a total credit to this hotel and her profession. Always smiling we will miss her. ||In summary a wonderful stay, Granny would of been pleased! we can't wait to visit again very soon. Thank you.
