Palazzo Arrivabene B&B

This is a truly exceptional B&B. Claudio and his wonderful mother make you feel not like a visitor, but like an honored guest of their family. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and cozy — filled with beautiful antiques that gave it a sense of history and soul. The palazzo itself feels exactly as an ancient Italian palazzo should, yet it also has the warmth and ease of a lived-in home rather than a hotel. Claudio’s hospitality was unmatched. He helped us secure last-minute dinner reservations at delicious local restaurants — each of them welcoming us with special warmth simply because we were “Claudio’s guests.” And his mother’s breakfasts were unforgettable: she prepared homemade pies each morning and insisted we enjoy them while they were still warm. These small gestures made the stay feel intimate and deeply personal. The location could not be better — perfectly central yet wonderfully quiet. This B&B is more than a place to stay; it is an experience of genuine Italian hospitality at its finest. We left Mantua feeling grateful, touched, and eager to return.

Oh my! This is truly palatial. This 15 th century building was remodeled in the baroque period with extravagant fireplaces, banqueting hall as a breakfast room, antique woodwork, contemporary bathroom with two sinks, shower, bathrobes. Grand elegant marble staircase leads one to their room. Claudio, the host, who is extremely kind and welcoming, graciously carried our luggage up and down the stairs. Breakfast was a delicious spread and the table setting was a feast for the eyes. But most of all, this palatial B and B has all the comforts of the 21 st century with all the delights of staying in a palace!

Palazzo Arrivabene and Mantua were a highlight of our trip, traveling as a multigenerational family. Claudio and his mother Reni are the consummate hosts. The palazzo is beautiful and our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortably appointed. It is central to the sites in Mantua and Claudio offered many recommendations for what to see and where to eat. Breakfast was exquisite with an expansive offering including delicious homemade cakes. Thank you for so warmly welcoming us into your home. We can’t wait to come back. We have traveled all over the world and all agree that Palazzo Arrivabene was truly special. It’s more than just a place to stay, Reni and Claudio welcomed us into their home. We feel privileged to have been their guests.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The palazzo is in a very convenient location to walk to all of the sites Mantua has to offer.The facilities, the breakfast , the room were all exquisite and Claudio was an outstanding host, going out of his way to help us with an issue. We felt like we were part of the family in this stunning & gorgeous palazzo. This is a treasure enabling you to experience what it was like to live in a palazzo from years past. Location is perfect, only a couple minutes walk from old town with all the historical sites , restaurants & shops. I can’t imagine a better place to stay while in Mantova.

This wonderful Palazzo built in the 1500's is full of antiquity and charm. Beautiful rooms finely decorated, frescos and old paintings on the walls, and grand staircases. Four levels of stately elegance--extra large rooms beautifully furnished. Bathrooms are modern and function perfectly.|WiFi was great but there are no TV's and no elevators, so be prepared to climb a few stairs.|Caudio was great and very very helpful, and his gracious mother prepares the beautiful Italian style breakfasts in the lovely old dining room.|Located just on the edge of old town and only a short walk to the main square of Muldova. Public parking is convenient and a close walk.|You will not regret your stay here!!

We felt very privileged to be able to stay in this three room B&B in a grand palazzo that has been the family home since 1960. It is run by a mature man who speaks English well and his elderly mother. Our air conditioned room was enormous and well appointed. The location is excellent, on a quiet street. An exceptional experience staying here!

On our recent trip through Italy, staying at the Palazzo Arrivabene far stands out as the best hotel experience, we stayed at! ||Upon arrival we were overwhelmed with the beauty and elegance of the restored Palazzo of which there are common rooms, and a balcony is which you are invited and encouraged to sit and use on your own. || Our room was quiet, comfortable and very clean. ||The owner, Signora Luciana and her son, Claudio though are the heart of this establishment. Rarely have I been so received with such a warm and elegant welcoming! At breakfast in the morning Signora Luciana herself was present making sure we had everything we needed and even sharing some of her recipes with other guests. Claudio personally made a phone call for me to arrange a meeting with a mutual friend who lives in Mantova. ||I encourage anyone considering staying here or even making a trip to Mantova to decide to do it and stay at this establishment you will not be disappointed and pleased that you did. ||A word of warning is that this Palazzo does have some stairs but if possible and you can manage them it is well worth it!||Siga Luciana .... la ringrazio e mi sento che dopo averla incontrata ho una nuova amica a Mantova.
