Palazzo Bontadosi Hotel & Spa

I am torn between telling the truth about this amazing place or trying to keep it a secret by giving a poor review. This is our absolute favorite place in Umbria. I've stayed here half a dozen times or so, never had a bad time and always can't wait to come back. We like to stay on the garden side (countryside) as it's a bit quieter.

The Bontadosi is one of the nicest hotels we've been to and far and away the nicest staff ever. We stayed for 9 nights for a family wedding in the area. They could not have been more helpful and made all the family, whether staying in the hoel or not, feel very welcome. We had room 7 with a balcony and wonderful views. Breakfast was delicious and the Spa very nice. Parking was easy and nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to returning.

The Palazzo Bontadosi Hotel & Spa is set in the lovely town of Montefalco, within its walls, at the top and is the perfect homebase for exploring this beautiful part of Italy. The property is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant within the hotel is home to a wonderful and creative chef. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy her offerings. The rooms are very comfortable and our junior suite was spacious.

Little did we know this hotel would enhance our lives to an experience that is in fact, unforgettable.||The property is a captivating blend of elegance and creativity, tastefully weaving contemporary artistry into its luxurious yet practical accommodations in the heart of Montefalco. ||The location is a dream. The hospitality, one of a kind! Situated in Montefalco's lively square, here you'll find a vibrant atmosphere with numerous outstanding restaurant, shopping, and bar options, providing a choice between countryside and urban vibes.||Most importantly the service from Silvia was impeccable. Her warm and confident disposition is felt from the moment you walk into the hotel. She was the most professional and classy hotelier I've ever met - and I travel the world for a living (live in Charleston, SC, home to hospitality). She can read your personality, needs and delivers you with exceptional recommendations in Umbria. Being our first time in Umbria, we had little plans and after arrival from a long drive from Lake Como our party of four was exhausted. When we arrived to the hotel Silvia kindly recommended we eat at their restaurant and experience their tasting menu. WOW! Talk about an experience of food. We ate out front on the square as people shuffled by and enjoyed some wonderful wine too. Silvia later gave us some of the best recs or Umbria to visit, see and taste wine. One night we struggled to find dinner reservations, there were none - but she called the restaurant and saved a table for us, one of the best meals we had all trip! You just don't find many people willing to go the extra mile, with a smile today. This place is special. Oh and if you need a taxi, Silvia will find one for your party so you can enjoy every second of your vacation. They make it so easy here. ||We found this hotel through local Chef Junio Valerio in Bevagna who told us that the best town to base our of in Umbria was Montefalco. Little did we know this hotel would enhance our lives to an experience that is in fact, unforgettable. The breakfast was incredible with a variety fit for everyone. We even sat on the balcony on the second floor to enjoy a view of Umbrias hillsides and nature. ||Parking is a short walk down the hill at the public parking, very easy. You can drop luggage and pick people up at the hotel as a guests or taxis, cars allowed in the square just not to park for long periods of time. All the rooms are awesome with really nice towels, hair dryer, hair straightener and safe. Shampoo, Conditioner and lotion all come with the toiletries. Beds are super comfy, AC works well. Mini Fridge inside each room. *Get the room with the Balcony that overlooks the hillside. *Kids do play ball in the square so the balcony room not facing the square would be good if you go to sleep early at night in the summertime. ||No detail is overlooked at this hotel. It's personally designed down to each detail. ||From the curated artwork in the lobby, bar, and restaurant to the romantic balcony that is throughout this bouquet, the hotel is simply a vibe. We will be back! 

I was chasing my family roots in Umbria when I happened upon the most picturesque hotel on top of a hill in Umbria. We had a hard time getting to the hotel as we thought roads were closed... so two of us walked to the hotel to check in. We explained this issue to the receptionist, Silvia, and told her it was fine and we would walk. She insisted we do not do that. She was so helpful in helping us navigate. Once we all got there, Silvia was kind enough to offer us some places to visit that we might not know about. She arranged dinner for us at the hotel, which was a nice touch as we got in pretty late. Dinner - was amazing. The food, drinks, the view and watching the neighbourhood children. What an experience. Overall, we can't wait to come back. The hotel is truly a gem. The restaurants in walkable distance are incredible. And if you can get to visit the local towns/restaurants nearby - I hope you do. Silvia did everything she could to ensure we got where we needed - she was also a gem who made our stay the most memorable and enjoyable, going out of her way to ensure we had the most amazing trip. Thank you Silvia and everyone else who made our stay absolutely perfect!

My wife and stayed at this beautiful boutique hotel in June 2023. Great location right on the main square of cute Montefalco. The service by all of the staff that we interacted with was terrific. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious. The best part of all - we were given Room #1 to stay in for our 2 nights there. Wow, just wow - what a room! Frescoed walls and ceilings - like staying in your own private art gallery. We were amazed and so enjoyed it. The bathroom was very large and modern/updated with marble everywhere. What a wonderful stay - we would definitely recommend the Palazzo Bontadosi Hotel & Spa - and hope to stay there again on our next visit to Umbria.

On the central square of this small, perfectly maintained hill top town filled with good restaurants and plentiful views of the surrounding valleys and hills, is the Palazzo Bontadosi. The boutique hotel with about 14 rooms is a posh place to base explorations of the region. Rooms 4 and 7 are palatial stunning rooms with all the expected amenities. The included breakfast is good and full of fresh baked goods and savory and sweet options. Staff is unfailingly helpful and smiling 24/7. The in house restaurant is excellent for dinner. Highly recommended overall for higher end travelers.

This place is fabulous! The room is spacious and unique in design, the SPA is nothing less than perfect. Breakfast left us speechless and above all the staff! Super nice, professional and always present.||We feel fortunate to have stayed in your hotel
