We just checked out of this wonderful hotel and our hearts are still full from 5 nights of pampering and luxury. This art hotel is located on the main plaza of Montefalco, within 3 minutes easy walk to some of the best restaurants in Umbria. The rooms are generously sized and look out over the lively piazza or the hills to the south. Everyone at the front desk (Sylvia, Jade, Benedetta) is professional, smiling and helpful. Breakfast is perfect with a nice assortment of meats, eggs, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, pastries etc. and great cappuccinos!||The bed was super comfortable and the showers were powerful and not like some European showers where you end up really missing home. There's a glorious rain shower and a handshower, the plenty of water pressure.||Our friends used the spa and soaking pool downstairs and loved it. The facilities, hallways and rooms are immaculate.||We highly recommend this hotel and cannot wait to return.

Everything was great at this hotel. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast did not have a huge variety and mountains of food like other hotels but it had exactly the amount and variety needed - from cold cuts to cakes to bread to yogurt and fruit - and everything was fresh and of high quality. |The room we had on the second floor overlooking the plaza was great (#22) which I think was a junior suite. Looking the other way would have been great as well, because the views of the countryside are very nice. |We found everything inside the hotel attractive - lighting, flooring, draperies, etc. But be aware that despite the prominent photograph of a frescoed room, the hotel leans modern, with a tasteful mix of more traditional/older style.|The hotel has various Michelin stickers on the front door but they are not applicable anymore, since the restaurant is no longer operating (other than for breakfast). I was told that the relationship with the chef ended and they were not aware of any plans for a new chef. This is really not a problem since the town has many fantastic restaurants everywhere. |The only negative was that while there were hot options for breakfast (such as scrambled eggs) they had an extra charge. This, I thought, was very odd. I think the hotel should just offer them for free and charge everyone 5 extra euros for the room. Thus the hotel would make more money and guests would not feel that they are nickeled-and-dimed at a luxury hotel. This extra charge is definitely a marketing faux-pas, in my opinion.

We had an amazing experience at the Palazzo Bontadosi in June. Our family of 4 along with another family of 4 spent two nights here, and honestly, we wish were here longer! The service provided by Silvia was 5-star. She greeted us, served us local wine, and made sure our entire stay was amazing. We all utilized the spa and the adults had massages while we were there. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Our rooms were well-appointed. The grounds were immaculate. The entire village/town of Montefalco was dreamy, and we cannot wait to spend more time here on another vacation. This is the perfect hotel to take in the gorgeous views of Umbria!

Montefalco is a lovely unspoilt Umbrian town. It isn't crawling with tourists as many of the other nearby towns are (e.g. Assisi), and it's fairly practical to stay in (parking only a short walk down the hill, and you can pull right up to the hotel when coming & going), yet it's a typical gorgeous hilltop village.||This little boutique hotel is right on the main square, allowing you to soak in the local atmosphere and eat at one of the lovely restaurants only steps away.||We had a Junior Suite with a gorgeous view of the surrounding valley, adjoining to a Deluxe room with a view of the piazza. Rooms were very comfortable, with aircon and a lift. There was a basic breakfast buffet which could be eaten either indoors or outdoors.||Overall a perfect place to stay, with surprisingly good value-for-money, and we would come back!

Little did we know this hotel would enhance our lives to an experience that is in fact, unforgettable.||The property is a captivating blend of elegance and creativity, tastefully weaving contemporary artistry into its luxurious yet practical accommodations in the heart of Montefalco. ||The location is a dream. The hospitality, one of a kind! Situated in Montefalco's lively square, here you'll find a vibrant atmosphere with numerous outstanding restaurant, shopping, and bar options, providing a choice between countryside and urban vibes.||Most importantly the service from Silvia was impeccable. Her warm and confident disposition is felt from the moment you walk into the hotel. She was the most professional and classy hotelier I've ever met - and I travel the world for a living (live in Charleston, SC, home to hospitality). She can read your personality, needs and delivers you with exceptional recommendations in Umbria. Being our first time in Umbria, we had little plans and after arrival from a long drive from Lake Como our party of four was exhausted. When we arrived to the hotel Silvia kindly recommended we eat at their restaurant and experience their tasting menu. WOW! Talk about an experience of food. We ate out front on the square as people shuffled by and enjoyed some wonderful wine too. Silvia later gave us some of the best recs or Umbria to visit, see and taste wine. One night we struggled to find dinner reservations, there were none - but she called the restaurant and saved a table for us, one of the best meals we had all trip! You just don't find many people willing to go the extra mile, with a smile today. This place is special. Oh and if you need a taxi, Silvia will find one for your party so you can enjoy every second of your vacation. They make it so easy here. ||We found this hotel through local Chef Junio Valerio in Bevagna who told us that the best town to base our of in Umbria was Montefalco. Little did we know this hotel would enhance our lives to an experience that is in fact, unforgettable. The breakfast was incredible with a variety fit for everyone. We even sat on the balcony on the second floor to enjoy a view of Umbrias hillsides and nature. ||Parking is a short walk down the hill at the public parking, very easy. You can drop luggage and pick people up at the hotel as a guests or taxis, cars allowed in the square just not to park for long periods of time. All the rooms are awesome with really nice towels, hair dryer, hair straightener and safe. Shampoo, Conditioner and lotion all come with the toiletries. Beds are super comfy, AC works well. Mini Fridge inside each room. *Get the room with the Balcony that overlooks the hillside. *Kids do play ball in the square so the balcony room not facing the square would be good if you go to sleep early at night in the summertime. ||No detail is overlooked at this hotel. It's personally designed down to each detail. ||From the curated artwork in the lobby, bar, and restaurant to the romantic balcony that is throughout this bouquet, the hotel is simply a vibe. We will be back!

The Palazzo Bontadosi Hotel & Spa is set in the lovely town of Montefalco, within its walls, at the top and is the perfect homebase for exploring this beautiful part of Italy. The property is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant within the hotel is home to a wonderful and creative chef. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy her offerings. The rooms are very comfortable and our junior suite was spacious.

The Bontadosi is one of the nicest hotels we've been to and far and away the nicest staff ever. We stayed for 9 nights for a family wedding in the area. They could not have been more helpful and made all the family, whether staying in the hoel or not, feel very welcome. We had room 7 with a balcony and wonderful views. Breakfast was delicious and the Spa very nice. Parking was easy and nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to returning.

Nice small hotel and spa in a small hill village. Terrific restaurant on the premises. Great staff.
