Great location and rooms, but half of the time the elevator doesn't work

The location near the Port may be the only plus of this hotel. Having no real reception and only communicating via WhatsApp is a big No for me. Now for the room itself. Our room was a Room inside an Apartment, that wasn’t specified in the description. The bed was just a unstable frame with uncomfortable mattresses. The bedside tables were made out of literal cardboard. The bathroom was small and dark and the AC didn’t really cool down the room. For the most important part, the room and bathroom were not clean. There were dustbunnys on the floor, the bathroom did not look inviting cleanliness wise and also the sink was just loosely attached to the wall. Last the door to the room had gaps one can see through and also hear everything, so no feeling of privacy.

I stayed at this hotel in early October for two nights, and I absolutely enjoyed my stay there. Although Marcello (who manages the place) offered great direction in his welcome email, I still got a little lost trying to find it. Luckily, Marcello found me before I found the place. He was very friendly and helpful. I stayed at apartment 11. Although the bathroom to my room is separate to the bedroom itself (a slight inconvenience you may say - as you have to lock and unlock these rooms each time you want to use them), once you get used to it, it is absolutely fine. The room is spacious. These apartments are in an old apartment building, but it has been modernised, and is relatively quiet and peaceful. The apartment itself is of modern luxury design (although not too pricey when I stayed there), the bed is extremely comfy. I had two nights of great sleep. Also, the location of this apartment is ideal, it's literally close to all the tourist attractions, and you can get to all the places on foot. I didn't need to use the AC, so can't comment on the noise level like many other reviewers here. However, I enjoyed my stay and I would definitely come back here again. Also, if you ever stay at this place, do try Soho restaurant next door, I had the best seafood pasta ever.

We absolutely LOVED this apartment! It's very comfortable with great modern design in a very old historic building, right in the middle of the historic center. It's a bit difficult to access if you're driving; there is however a car park about a 5 min walk away, called Garage Minerva, Piazza Bandiera 1. Our SatNav found it without any issues but it's small so it's easy to drive past (driving in Genova is not for the faint of heart by the way, but no worse than driving is any historic European city). It only cost 16 Euro/night which is reasonable. But the difficulty in parking is worth to be really in the thick of the old part of the city. We were in room 10 and had a full kitchen (except toaster!) and there were two grocery stores very close by, plus an assortment of fruit stands. The only problem point: although there are 4 air conditioning units in the apartment we had, one didn't work at all, 3 somewhat worked, but unfortunately ALL stopped working at about 3 am and the apartment became unbearably hot. Opening all the windows only helped marginally because it was hot outside as well. Small fans would have helped. But that's not enough for me to dock them any points, because the design and comfortable beds (with fantastic linen!) were outstanding. Free fruit and water were also appreciated, and there's also a washing machine. ||Luckily there was no appearance by the Italian ghost girl whispering "Papi" as one reviewer noted! :-)

We stumbled upon this place as an absolute last resort. We found out at the last minute that our originally booked hotel canceled us with no notice and we spent the first hour of our trip in the train station cafe desperate to find a place to stay as almost all of the hotels were fully booked. ||||After reading the reviews and virtually having no options we went ahead and booked it online from our phones. ||||The taxi driver was very good and found the address which is tucked away in a corner of a small street near the port (looking at the big pirate ship). We called the contact on the reservation a few minutes before leaving the train station and were thrilled after getting out of the taxi to be greeted by Maria who was there to give us our key and had two young men take our luggage for us as we had to go up two flights of stairs. ||||We were so pleasantly surprised with the room! We Ended up in a loft suite with a full||Kitchen and bathroom. The location is close to a lot and the apartment was very clean and had all the amenities including a hair dryer. ||||We are so grateful we had a place to sleep that was such a pleasant surprise!! Thank you Maria and Marcello!!

We just returned from a long weekend stay at Palazzo Cambiaso. We are a family of four and booked a one bedroom apartment with loft (annex). The apartment is modern, spacious, clean and well-equipped with exceptional linens, pillows and duvets, and boasts gorgeous floor to ceiling windows. The location could not be any better; it's literally a 'stone's throw away' from the aquarium and minutes from the ever-so-beautiful 'Via Garibaldi'. However if you are looking for a little peace and quiet, this is not the place for you, as we were woken up often throughout the night (from noise on the street). Perhaps better insulated windows would solve this issue? Additionally, big compliments to on-site hotel manager Aurelio for ensuring we enjoyed our stay - we'll be back!

Appartment was located in via Cambo & really lovely - So well equipped & loved the Illy Espresso machine & huge Fridge . Bathroom & shower great with lots of towels & heated rail . Bedroom super cosy with tons of pillows & really comfortable bed with lots of wardrobe space . Appartment was serviced daily by two lovely ladies . As I stayed in October - Air con was not an issue - actually a bit chilly in evenings so was glad for direction on how to work heating . Fortunately speak Italian but for those who don't all queries can be addressed nearby at pizza Savo & soon sorted by staff there. Only downside is that unfortunately Street outside is very very noisy .

Great hotel highly recommended to visit Genova. Location: Very close (5 min walking) to the port and the main squares (Piazzas). Many restaurants (for breakfast or dinner) are in the area. Bear in mind that the apartments are located in a fourth floor. Maintenance: Rooms are comfortable, clean and nicely equiped. Staff: Always very friendly and supportive.
