Palazzo Castri 1874

Absolutely stunning courtyard at this luxury hotel! We stayed in a suite for the first two nights but did not realize that there were stairs leading up to the bedroom and the bathroom was on the first floor! No problem, however as the hotel desk clerk moved us to the room next door that was on all on one level and still had the outstanding views that the suite had! They have a very nice spa also where my husband enjoyed a relaxing massage! The breakfast was amazing also! This hotel is within walking distance of the center of Florence and lots of shops and restaurants! The front desk staff as well as the restaurant staff were VERY accommodating and welcoming!! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Our first visit to Florence and we were lucky to stay in this lovely boutique hotel. I had a couple of queries in advance of our visit and these were dealt with very promptly and professionally by the Reception team. Our room was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with everything you would need, we loved the safe and fridge which was essential for storing water and wine. Beds and pillows were easily the most comfortable we have experienced, very large bathroom with shower and all amenities. Our room was on the second floor overlooking a busy street however the double glazed windows are so good that most of the traffic noise is hardly audible. Breakfast was superb and a great start to the day, each corner of the dining room contained a different selection of various fresh fruits, juices, cakes and pastries, bread rolls and different types of loaf, along with cooked options of bacon, scrambled eggs and frankfurter sausages. Cappuccino coffees were excellent with other varieties available. All of the good food and facilities are meaningless however if the staff are substandard, and the staff at this hotel were without exception excellent - courteous, cheerful and nothing too much trouble. Always cheerful and eager to please. They are a credit to the hotel and we appreciated them very much. We dined at the hotel for our last evening in Florence, more for convenience but with hindsight would have gone to one of the many other places nearby for our last dinner. |The location of the hotel is approximately 10-15 minutes walk from the railway station, however we opted to get a taxi when we arrived simply to avoid a walk on narrow pavements pulling two large cases and trying to avoid all the other pedestrians with luggage.|Tip - the main part of the city is within walking distance but if you suffer with aching knees (as we do), it's far easier to get Reception to book a taxi which will arrive within minutes and take you to the main part of the city where you can locate the main attractions, then walk around with ease. |A great stay in a brilliant hotel, sincere thanks to everyone for making our visit so memorable.

My experience was nothing short of exceptional! I have stayed in some of the best hotels around the world and I can tell you Castri is WORLD CLASS! The hotel is absolutely stunning and spotless clean. The staff was the best of the best and Absolutley amazing!! The staff is world class, friendly, warm and accommodating . The food at the hotel was superb, do yourself a favor and have dinner here! It was quiet and peaceful the gardens were beautiful. My entire experience was fantastic. This hotel is the best in Florence and walking distance to everything. I never write reviews regardless of experience but I was compelled to write this review. I can not wait to stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Palazzo Castri 1874. The location was perfect. It was just a pleasant 10–15 minute walk to the city centre, making it easy to explore Florence while enjoying a peaceful retreat away from the busiest streets. The hotel itself feels modern yet serene, with a relaxing atmosphere throughout. Our room was stylish, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The staff were consistently welcoming, attentive, and very helpful with recommendations. We enjoyed making use of the spa facilities, which were excellent. Breakfast each morning offered a nice variety of options, and the garden was a beautiful, tranquil spot to unwind after sightseeing. Highly recommended!

We love this little oasis of a hotel. Perfectly located, it is a haven of comfort, peace and relaxation. The spacious rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are really friendly and a little quirky, which we like. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It’s a real home from home. ||The little spa is lovely. My only wish would be that it opened earlier as it would be a nice way to start the day.

We have just stayed for 4 nights at the Palazzo Castri. Beautiful hotel, well maintained, good sized rooms, nice breakfast choice. Great location. About a 15-minute walk to the cathedral. 9 min walk to the Santa Maria Novella station and the T1 and T2 trams. The biggest asset is the staff, who were all lovely and helpful. Special mention to Camilla, who was so cheerful. My husband and I had a nice relaxing massage at the spa, which was most welcome after a day's sightseeing. Would definitely stay here again.

My fiancée and I stopped here for 4 nights, and we both agree that we had a lovely stay and would happily come again. |The hotel is in an excellent location that is a few minutes walk from the train station if you wanted to venture further, and also only a few minutes walk away from the main areas of Florence. On the same street as the hotel, there are a number of restaurants and shops, so you're never too far away from anything.||Our room (we stayed in the deluxe room) was a good size, nicely decorated and always clean, with a terrace that overlooks the garden. |The breakfast was good, and food from the dinner menu was delicious too, with excellent service throughout. |At the end of each day, we'd usually sit in the garden with a drink as it was just such a nice place to be to wind down for the day.|We didn't use the spa or gym facilities, so I can't comment on those but I'm sure they're just as good as the rest of the hotel.||All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Castri and would happily stay again.

This hotel is in a great location. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was superb, the beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet, and the garden setting was pretty and private. I was able to preorder a bottle of wine, and it was waiting in our room. In my opinion, this hotel is a first class place to stay.
