We paid €10 for a ticket to climb the clock tower. (It included the gallery as well but we couldn't make due to train times.). It was really worth it. We followed the included audio guide from the local tourist website and it gave lots of detail and information. It is quite low in places so watch your head. At the top you sign a waiver as the last set of stairs are treacherous. However it is worth it for the views across Bologna. I would highly recommend this but not if you find stairs difficult.

This must-visit beautiful complex of buildings is the functional town hall of Bologna. There are continued exhibitions and an art museum. Plan at least 3 hours, ticket is combined with tower climbing

This visit is so much more than you bargained for. Brilliant tour of the clock tower and various art galleries and the palace. Amazing view of Bologna from the top would definitely recommend.

Visited the clock tower and the ticket let us visit the museum. The clock has amazing architecture behind it and when you watch all the components move. Went to the top on a rainy day. Get to see in all directions of the town. Wasn’t able to see in the distance due to the weather. Ticket was reasonably priced and we purchased it before we visited.

Excellent art exhibition and tour of the clock tower. Spectacular views from the top. Don't miss the art exhibition too as it is included with the ticket!

Confusing details and instructions about the museum and tower tickets. In conclusion you are better off buting the 10€ tower ticket that includes the access to the museum as well. For the tower they are strict with the time interval so be aware of what slot you’re booking. The free audio guide of the tower is informative but the descriptions take too long sometimes. The museum is nice, as well as the public free spaces. The landscape view from above the Piazza Maggiore is a bonus if you reach the top of the tower.

Really wonderful museum, it’s got a very impressive collection of paintings, statues, artifacts, antiques, busts and many other works of art. I really enjoy seeing the old works of art, it’s very cool. The museums contents are very well preserved and displayed, the rooms are filled with lots to see. I really enjoyed my time here and I really would certainly like to go back someday. I highly recommend checking out this awesome museum.

Yelp
Palazzo d'Accursio (or Palazzo Comunale) is located on the Piazza Maggiore. Most visitors skip this one and so miss an important piece of the history of Bologna, as this building has been the seat of the city's political power since the Middle Ages. The palace is also home to the Civic Art Collection, with paintings from the Middle Ages to the 19th century; the Museo Morandi, with the works by Giorgio Morandi; and the Biblioteca Salaborsa, the town libraries. Make sure you look at the entrance; there is a statue of Bologna native Pope Gregory XIII, blessing passersby. To its left is a statue of the Madonna con Bambino by sculptor Niccolò dell'Arca.
