Palazzo Dama

"How did it strike you on arrival?Palazzo Dama is everything you’d imagine a modern Roman palace to be: chic, polished, and with just the right amount of bling. There’s parquet flooring throughout, chandeliers dripping from the ceiling, and a serious collection of artwork on nearly every wall. No surprise, then, that the property is the former family home of the noble Malaspina family, who threw legendary shindigs for centuries. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Guests here are super stylish: expect lots of crisp linen trousers and moccasins (purchased from the Tod’s store on nearby Via del Corso, of course). The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The 29 rooms here are fresh and contemporary, with high ceilings and smooth white walls. The beds are big and comfy (complete with a pillow menu), and a plush corner sofa is a welcome place to cosy up with a book in between sightseeing jaunts. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? The art collection is spectacular, and those coffee table design bibles are pretty covetable, too. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms are all marble mosaics, with showers big enough to throw a party in. The products are by Acqua di Parma, of course. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free, hoorah! It works well across the property, even in the garden and by the pool; ideal for uploading those boast-worthy Instagram snaps. Room service: Worth it?All-day dining gets a do-over here, with quinoa salads, sea bass ceviche, and tuna tacos all big hitters on the menu. Expect to pay between €14 and €24 per dish. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The Pacifico bar and restaurant are pure 1920s decadence, with chandeliers, potted palms, and velvet bar stools you could spend an evening in. Chef Jaime Pesaque’s Peruvian-inspired menu is spot on, too. The downstairs nightclub, Raspoutine (could this place be any more perfect?!) is utterly decadent, welcoming the who’s who of Rome’s social scene. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The morning breakfast spread – often a lacklustre affair in Italian hotels – is a standout at Palazzo Dama, with heaping bowls of mueslis and granolas, fragrant melons and sweet kiwi fruits, and freshly-pressed juices. Take your pick from the platters of still-warm pastries or choose from one of the many egg-based options. Bottom line: worth it, and why?A stay at Palazzo Dama’s worth every dollar, just for a few days of aristocrat living." - Maresa Manara

Lovely place! The service and hospitality are truly one of a kind. The atmosphere is extraordinary — not just because of the hotel itself, but also thanks to its amazing location. The kindness of the staff and their effort to make your stay unforgettable really stand out. And let’s not forget the pool and the food — absolutely fantastic! No doubt — it's the best option in Rome.

We stayed at this hotel for a portion of our trip in Rome. Upon entering we knew this place was going to be wonderful, from the architecture, to the air conditioned space, and the amazing staff who were very attentive to all our needs. The rooms were the perfect size, the pool was lovely, and the breakfast was just what we needed each morning.

Our experience was somewhat disappointing for a three day visit to Rome ending out a trip to Italy. ||Pros:|- good location near the Piazza Del Poppolo with good shopping and easy walk to the Spanish steps and other main sites |-service was good across the board from check in to the wait staff and porters |-pool- but NOT for families with younger children |- large and beautiful bathroom which is rare in Rome||Cons:|- The AC was not working and after walking around in the heat all day in Rome, the last thing you want is a room that is hot. We asked them to look at the unit but they couldn’t have it serviced until the next day. They gave us a fan to help with sleeping and we didn’t want to deal with changing hotels since we were in the city for such a short amount of time. They did offer to change rooms but we were out all day and also didn’t want to deal with the hassle. |-continental breakfast is included but it was really sparse.|- the pool was small and not for families. If you have older children that just want to cool off it’s fine but it’s more of an adult atmosphere so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with kids.

A really beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. The staff were lovely and we absolutely enjoyed our weekend there. Breakfast was wonderful, especially eating outside in the sunshine. Our room was great and the staff were very helpful with all of our many enquiries.

We stayed here for 5 nights. We loved the architecture, the garden with the pool. Such a paradise. Unfortunately not a five star hotel when it comes to the amenities. For every sauna session and hot pool session you need to pay €50, the gym gets blocked when someone has a massage. The breakfast buffet is extremely small and you only have three types of different breakfast eggs included in your breakfast otherwise you’ll have to pay extra. It’s like a five star hotel that tries to squeeze money out with everything they can so nothing is for free. I also confronted the manager and said it’s misleading that in Booking.com they advertise the sauna and hot pool but don’t say that you have to pay €50 per session. They didn’t care.

The hotel is very charming! I first went to the garden bar/pool area during summer, and it was so lovely that on my next trip I wanted to stay here. The staff are all very nice and welcoming, and definitely made the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel and garden are very beautiful with centuries of history. I gave the room not full rating because the bed was a bit crooked and not the most comfortable and we booked a junior suite, but to me it seemed like a normal king size room (1 bedroom and nice bathroom but without bathtub). The bar is top notch, although in the evening there was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was also very good. The breakfast is nice and quiet, and the spa in the basement is worth a visit, it has steam, sauna, and a jacuzzi. It fits only 4, so if you are a small group can have it to yourself!

Absolutely beautiful hotel, possibly my favorite in all of Rome. The location is perfect, super close to Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso, yet the area is calm and charming. The stunning architecture and impeccable interior design creates a beautiful atmosphere, and the staff makes you feel incredibly welcome. The pool area is a hidden oasis in the bustling city, and is the perfect place to recharge after exploring Rome. The hotel also has bikes, which is the perfect way to see the city. The bar and lounge has a gorgeous selection of drinks and appetizers, I personally recommend the gyozas and mini guacamole tacos. I truly could not recommend this place enough!

A year ago, March of 2024, my wife and I took our first trip to Italy. As I was deciding where to stay, I was drawn to Palazzo Dama because it appeared to be so beautiful. They also offered special promos if you stayed for three nights and booked directly from their website. Staying there was the best decision that I could have made. Everything was perfect, from being picked up at the airport, to the awesome room that we were given. The room was pristine, with a great view. The location is awesome. We walked everywhere, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, Colosseo. The staff was superb. Valerie, Greta, Luna, Alexander, to name just a few. Alexander helped us at breakfast and also provided some cool jazz to listen to while we dined. The Palazzo Dama made us feel at home the entire time that we were there. Service, location, room, everything was superior! The Palazzo Dama is a true 5 star experience. My wife and I hope to return very soon!
