We loved our stay here (and Ortigia!). On a quiet but well-located street - we could walk to everything. Very relaxed owner was helpful and hospitable. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning at the little corner cafe watching the neighborhood come to life. ||We stayed in the Blu room with our own private roof terrace which was amazing. ||I see complaints here about parking. We did not come with a car, so can't comment on that. However I know from experience that parking in these towns/cities is always a hassle and the Italian laws and systems can be confusing and frustrating. Based on meeting him, I doubt Giovanni is intentionally misleading anyone. He is a bit laid back but very helpful. My recommendation - come by train!

A great B&B in the heart of beautiful Ortigia, walking distance from everywhere. Spacious rooms fitted out with everything you could want as well as a very nice shared living room. We also had our own private deck which was a bonus. Giovanni was a great host - very helpful with suggestions for restaurants, transport etc. - and a nice breakfast was served in the bar he runs beside the B&B. Ortigia hotels can be expensive so this was good value for money. Highly recommended.

This review is for the Cucumella cafe/bar - a recent addition to Palazzo del Sale. We did not stay in Palazzo del Sale, however once we set foot and tasted the espresso and hospitality of Giovanny, we visited the cafe every single day of our stay. Sometimes twice a day 😁. Fantastic neapolitan espresso, amazing homemade antipasti and desserts. Great wine selection. Overall the perfect place to start or finish a day in Ortigia. Cannot recommend it enough.

Bad ! One year after our stay we got a Police fine of 198€ for entering the ZTL Zone with our hired car (we even used valet parking service from the Hotel). The Hotel promised to pay it, but never did…

Great location to explore wonderful Ortigia. Giovanni is a great host- helpful with all we asked. Room was so very nice with our own little outdoor patio which I enjoyed. Breakfast is a croissant/cappuccino outside on a busy street. Parking was arranged for us at 20 euros a day. We so loved this city and wished we had more time. Hoping to return one day

As a group of friends we had three rooms and everything is perfect.|The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. A number of shared spaces to hang out. |Location is fantastic for wandering around, restaurants or a minute to hit a great swimming spot. |Having the cafe downstairs attached to the B&B is great. Delicious pistachio cream with breakfast to drinks in the evening |The best part was Giovanni. Very chilled & layed back nothing is every and issue and always helpful.

We loved our stay here!! Perfect location, our room was quite large, perfect for walking around beautiful Ortigia- probably our favorite place on our trip to Sicily. Giovanni was the perfect host- friendly and easy to chat with. He gave us alot of great suggestions for dining. Breakfast was simple, but delicious. The perfect cappucino and cornetto! Our only complaint was that the bathroom needed some updating- paint was peeling, and tiles were kind of worn. The bedding was very comfortable. We loved having a little balcony to enjoy our pre- dinner wine and people watching.

We had the room with private terrace up the stairs to the 3rd floor. Everything was a charm:. Location, simple cap & croissant breakfast served by giovanni, an encyclopedia of helpful information, at the street level tables where we watched the neighborhood action and planned our day. Just the kind of B&B year hope to find!
