Palazzo Doglio

On arrival the hotel looks fabulous, elegant and luxurious. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. Our room wasn’t ready (we did arrive early) so offered us to sit and have a drink and would call us when ready. |The ‘classic’ room was lovely, spotlessly clean with good quality furnishings and a huge comfortable bed. My only feedback is that there are not enough power outlets, and the room could maybe do with a table lamp for better ambience. The only option is a small reading light beside the bed, or bright overhead lights which are not very relaxing. The bathroom again was spotless with good quality amenities and plenty of towels. The only other gripe is that some hooks or a towel rail other than the heated towel rail would be better - as you would have to be a giant to put these over when damp to dry out. Also if wearing robes to the spa (which we did ) we had to leave these on the floor to be changed as they were damp (if they had been allowed to air out by being hung up we could have reused - same for our towels). |Breakfast was great, lots of choice (a big thumbs up for the Greek yoghurt - one of the best I’ve had) but the service was sometimes painfully slow and you were sometimes overlooked when trying to order coffee. Saying that though the staff were friendly enough. |A big shout out to the Concierge, who gave us some great tips on where to visit on our short trip to this lovely city.

We had an outstanding stay at Palazzo Doglio — truly first-class from start to finish. The staff were exceptional and couldn’t do enough for us. Cocktails were excellent, and the restaurants were very good with no issue accommodating changes to the menu. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide choice of beautifully presented dishes.||Reception organised a hire car for us, delivered directly to the hotel at a very reasonable rate. Parking nearby is only €10 per day, and the hotel is an easy walk from the city centre and main sights.||This trip was for my daughter’s birthday, and the team went above and beyond by upgrading our room and decorating it with balloons — such a thoughtful touch.||We also visited the spa (additional cost) and it was absolutely worth it — we enjoyed one of the best massages we’ve ever had. The gym is excellent and free to use.||Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Palazzo Doglio for anyone visiting Cagliari. The entire staff are a real credit to the hotel.

Second time staying at Palazzo Doglio. We had good memories the first time so we returned. The service is still very good (esp front desk and concierge) we appreciate the help given by Gianluca and colleagues for dental, hair saloon recommendations and booking appointments. Restaurant stuff (especially Giorgia) is full of smiles and attentive. The lady masseur is good. Highly recommend. Now the negatives - the hardware is starting to break down somewhat. The room phones don’t work, Aircon cannot be controlled or turned off … The restaurant food is hit and miss. We had the fregola which was good but the Ombrina (fish) came rock hard. Told the manager and they “recooked” another fillet which was more tender but the inside was raw. I had diarrhea after.

We had an amazing time at Palazzo Doglio and would definitely recommend it. The location is central, very close to Marina and the old town. The small square inside the hotel with many restaurants is gorgeous and so very Italian. Breakfast had vast choices and is of great quality albeit can be chaotic at busy times. The rooms are cleaned twice a day and are always super clean. The service is excellent truly a 5 star. Overall, a memorable and relaxing stay at a beautiful hotel.

Apart from being one of the best appointed hotels I've stayed at the staff are fantastic. They remember and pay attention to the little details that make a temporary stay feel like family. A special shoutout to my room attendant Sandra who chattered away and managed to cross our language barrier with mime.

A great hotel. Rooms were large, very comfortable and the air conditioning quiet and effective.| We had rooms overlooking the square but we weren’t bothered by any noise. We really enjoyed the variety of breakfast food available and the excellent coffee.|The location was perfect, not far from the Bastion Saint Remy.|Naomi and Giovanni were excellent, knowledgeable and very helpful in their suggestions, as were all the reception staff. We took a private transfer to Poetto beach and a recommended beach club, Sam’s Beach, which was a very pleasant way to spend the day. Also, if you enjoy history, the Roman excavations at the Museo del Tesoro e Area Archeologica di Sant’Eulalia were very interesting.|All the staff at the hotel and the bar were friendly, professional and made for a fantastic holiday.|Excellent restaurants in the square and within walking distance.

I stayed at Palazzo Doglio recently and honestly had such a great time. Right from check-in, the staff made me feel welcome — friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Every interaction felt genuine, and it was clear they really cared about making my stay enjoyable.||I booked a suite, and it was even nicer than I expected — big, beautifully decorated, and super comfortable. It was spotless, and I loved the little details that made it feel special. After a day of exploring Cagliari, it was so nice to come back and just relax there.||The location is great too — close enough to walk to the main sights, but still quiet and peaceful at night. I left feeling refreshed and already know I’ll come back next time I’m in Sardinia.
