This is obviously an old Palazzo turned into a hotel and not a purpose built new hotel. It has charm and history and old-fashioned service. There is a nice little cafe serving traditional breakfast. If you are after a Hilton type hotel it's not for you. But if you are curious to learn about the city, it's history and the family Palazzo history then it's excellent.

Excellent hotel the rooms and facilities are extraordinary beautiful, you feel steeped in history. The host is very very friendly and welcoming. Although there is a school next door we were not disturbed by noise at all. It’s about a 20 minute walk to down town which is challenging on the way back as it is up hill. We loved it ..

As a solo female traveller it's sometimes curious to see how I would be treated. The hotel was at about half capacity when I arrived for my stay, still I was given the worst room they have I believe - 101. It is located right above the reception and you can hear people talk. I appreciate it is an old building but then why put guests in your worst room if there is capacity. Also they have 9 other rooms of the same type that I stayed in. The room has air con which you need in the summer, trouble is it is noisy like sleeping on a plane, except you don't get anywhere. The window didn't open. Breakfast was supposedly included and is served until 10.30am. Having come down right after 10am I found no breakfast - just some fruit and sweet pastries. No sign of cheese or anything else mentioned in other reviews. Not sure if I missed it or it was never there. Not even an apology from the manager who was there. Before breakfast and upon check out, I mentioned the issues I experienced to what I received no response.

comfortable big room , old vintage hotel just well preserved , clean renovated bathroom which is very important , nice bed , big windows.so much noice from the street at night.very bad and simple breakfast.no fresh orange juice no fresh bread or omelets.nothing like normal hotel breakfast.try somewhere else.just some kind of local pies not even with testy look.very good espresso. it loses a lot without reason, with small changes it could be much better.the stuff is polite.there is parking for 12 euro per night extra.

A classic old hotel with high ceilings and large rooms. Well located in the old part of Modica. The staff were unbelievably kind and helpful when I stayed in Modica and had to look after my father who had been discharged from hospital. They could not have done more to help. They even drove to collect our lunch from the restaurant because I was unable to leave my father.

It is a very romantic place, and it looks like if you're living in the past, with traditional and ancient furniture. We appreciated a lot the breakfast buffet as well, which was rich in local food and pastry. Highly recommended!

Wonderful hotel with an excellent staff. I was made to feel as if I were a guest in a private home. All of my many questions were answered and I received great travel advice. Breakfast was amazing.

We spent two delightful nights at Palazzo Failla. The owner was elegant and gracious, the room, which was in the annex was comfortable and well appointed, the service people helpful and friendly and the restaurant superb. Recommend highly.
