I had the opportunity to spend two nights recently at Palazzo Magnani Feroni. The hotel is housed in an old palace. Keeping that in mind, along with the overall age of the facility, interesting decor, and the dimness of the place, there is a slight creepy feeling; however you tend to get over it rather quickly. The place is definitely unique and a really cool place to stay!
This is a suite hotel exclusively. When I say suite, I'm not talking about the run-of-the-mill Embassy Suites or Country Inn rooms. We were in a luxury suite on the first floor, and the place was HUGE! There wasn't a wall separating the sleeping area from the living room, but the place was big enough that you can almost get lost in it. Each room is elegantly appointed. The suite was super clean, and unlike the rest of the hotels we stayed at in Italy, the bathroom was huge! I cannot comment on the quality of beds, since I was assigned the rollaway bed (was actually comfortable), but my sister and mom had no complaints. Wifi is free, and worked great!
Breakfast each morning was served in the dining room on the second level (third level for us Americans). The offers were typical of a European continental breakfast - pastries, cereal, cured meats, cheese, fruit and yogurt. For you who need eggs, the hotel does include various egg dishes, cooked to order, if requested. Breakfast was included with the rate, which was a nice bonus, but the overall quality of the food service was great!
I cannot say enough about the staff. My mother fell ill with food poisoning, and the concerned staff went out of their way to make sure we were well accommodated for. We were slated for a noon checkout, and the suite was to be occupied by another party after our departure. The staff re-arranged suite assignments so that we could have a late check out so my mom could get some additional rest. I definitely look forward to another stay at Palazzo Magnani Feroni in the future!
