Palazzo Navona Hotel

"How did it strike you on arrival?Palazzo Navona Hotel has a knack for design—from the tripod lamps in the lobby to the (intentionally) mismatched lounging chairs in the bar. Hues span the dusky brown-grey end of the color palette, with pops of color throughout, making the hotel feel fun and cool. Nice. What’s the crowd like? There are all sorts of swanky guests here, from young professionals looking for a stylish abode to a whole tribe of fun-loving art aficionados traveling on a four-star budget. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Classic Rooms are the hotel’s least expensive, but even at just 59-square-feet, they are smartly designed and filled with light, which makes them feels spacious and homely—in other words, on a rainy day you’d be happy to just hang out, watching a movie on a flatscreen TV. White walls and charcoal flooring help, making it all feel crisp and new. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?You can choose between a King size bed or twin beds, both have standard pillows and sheets—nothing too fancy, but definitely good enough to help you get a good night’s sleep. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? We would have loved to nick the nifty Samsung Smartphone with free internet and free calls to Europe, the U.S., and Canada. The mini-bar is free, and the in-room kettle with complimentary herbal tea is a rather nice touch when you want something non-caffeinated to drink. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Let’s get to the important stuff: all the products are made by Italian boho brand Etro, and come in such decent sizes that we were tempted to stash them away in our bag. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free, with a strong enough signal for us to Skype family back home without any connection problems. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?The staff—from the reception to the breakfast room—are so uniformly lovely, they deserve medals. No task is too difficult, from arranging tickets to a football match to packing a special early-morning departure breakfast, complete with hot coffee and fresh-from-the-oven pastries. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The rooftop terrace and wine bar is as sleek as the rest of the hotel, and so special you won’t feel guilty for having a 6 p.m. aperitivo in the hotel, rather than outside. Because sometimes that’s just what you feel like. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?Nothing has been skimped on here, but it’s the small touches of hotel’s design philosophy that stand out the most, from the designer toiletries to stylish rooms. Bottom line: worth it, and why? It’s not every day you find a hotel that, while not five-star, has everything you need for a city break. Definitely worth the money." - Maresa Manara

Palazzo Navona Hotel is where timeless Roman character meets boutique sophistication a refined sanctuary nestled in the vibrant heart of the Eternal City. Just steps from Piazza Navona & a gentle stroll to the Pantheon, its location isn’t just central, it’s magnetic ! Rome hums all around, yet inside, there’s a sense of serenity that feels deliberately rare. The design whispers elegance, the ambiance feels tailored, and the service? Quietly extraordinary. A heartfelt thank you to Andrea at reception & guest relations, his grace, attentiveness, & instinct for meaningful hospitality turned a stay into an experience. Jhonatan from housekeeping left no detail untouched, keeping our room immaculate with thoughtful precision. June at the lobby brought warmth & ease with every interaction. And the breakfast hosts? Simply superb; offering a beautiful selection each morning, served with care & genuine smiles. A perfect Roman start. In a city of unforgettable sights, Palazzo Navona quietly becomes one of them, an address you carry with you, long after check-out !

The hotel was perfect for our family of four. Great location just a few steps from the piazza and delicious restaurants on some of the side streets. About a 20 minute walk to colleseum and 15 minute walk to trevi fountain and Spanish steps. The hotel staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor and they have an elevator. I would definitely stay here again!!

We stayed here for one night after arriving on an early morning flight we landed at 8 AM and hadn’t slept or showered in over 24 hours. When we arrived, we noticed that you need to lift your luggage up about three steps to access the elevator, so it’s not wheelchair accessible, and neither are the rooms.||The hotel has a rustic, cabin-like feel almost like staying in a lodge in the mountains. ( see picture of ceiling) While the room had been refurbished into a traditional hotel-style space, it included a portable AC unit instead of central air. The staff personally guided us to our room, which required going through a series of doors. This is not your typical hotel layout.||Early check-in is not offered, but we asked for a washcloth to freshen up. Our room was ready by 2 PM which is check-in time. Overall, everything was in working condition, though the space could have used a deeper cleaning and some additional updates.||The room included a toilet, a small sink, and a shower. The elevator is not commercial-grade you have to press the button a few times for it to start working. The staff is friendly and speaks English. If you need extra towels, just ask but be aware they are limited in the room.

Great location , easy walking distance to all the major historical sights. The hotel is well maintained and clean . Buffet breakfast wasn’t the largest selection but nice enough. |All staff were welcoming and friendly .|Downsides were the noise of the road, it was all night and did disturb our sleep . |The family open suite was a little small for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The room states large double and 2 single beds. The single beds are a sofa bed with a smaller pull out bed , not ideal with tall teenagers . |Saying that, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend the hotel .

Google
Palazzo met my expectation, rooms as expected is small which is not unusual, it is the same all over Europe especially Bella Roma a historic city the capital of the world. Very friendly and welcoming staff. My first day at the hotel is fantastic from the wonderful receptionist, to Door man and to great room service waiter. This will be my spot whenever I visit Rome and I will recommend it to my friends and family. Great food.

I would like to thank the staff at the hotel - especially Duccio, Francisco, Andrea for going above an beyond. We arrived very late in the evening and the room we reserved was not available even though confirmed (we had asked for an upgrade which we got and the hotel was not obligated to give us but did). This could have been a disaster but turned into a very happy experience as the staff did everything in their power to make things right for us . We got the upgraded room the next night with a bathtub that was requested. They did not have to do this but did it anyway. Its things like this that make travel enjoyable because something will always go wrong and many hotels wont fix it - these guys did. Plus the room was above average size in the category and for Rome, the location is the best in the city and all the services from housekeeping to breakfast to the amazing view from the great roof top terrace (dinner there was good too!) was amazing. Highly recommend Palazzo Navona when in Rome!

The staff, one woman at one front desk in particular was so incredible unprofessional, not helpful, aggressively rude. The hotel is very loud, both inside and outside. The room was right next to the kitchen, where they prepped food til 9:45pm with kitchen door open. It was gross and loud. When I went to front desk to ask for help, she told me it was up to me to tell the kitchen worker to shut the door, no manager on duty, no other rooms, and that she will protect her colleague, it’s not her worker. No idea what she was even saying. She accused me of being rude and threatened me that I won’t get any help.

My family and I stayed at Hotel Navona for 4 nights while visiting Rome. It was a great location since most major attractions were within a 20 minute walk. Our room was clean and large with two bedrooms, which gave our kids their own space. There were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, too. I wish that breakfast was included in the price. However, I enjoyed going to different bakeries and getting breakfast each morning for less than $10. The biggest downside is that it is noisy all the time, especially at night. We had a room on the corner of two streets. It honestly felt like the windows weren’t even closed as you could hear everyone’s conversations and vehicles going by. I believe some of the rooms faced into a courtyard, so they might have been quieter. After the first night, we were so tired that the noise didn’t stop us from falling asleep, but it did usually wake us up early. Overall, the location and room size made up for the noise.

Yelp
I loved staying here. Located close to many of the attractions in Rome and not far from others. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of great choices. There is a bar on the main floor and a rooftop bar. It has beautiful views of the city and is very relaxing. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Rome.

Yelp
This was my third trip to Rome, and unfortunately, this stay was a major letdown. We booked an Executive Room, but it was far from what was advertised online. The photos are incredibly misleading--the room was tiny, with barely enough space for two people to move around simultaneously. There was no place for luggage, no vanity area, and no mirror near an outlet unless you wanted to risk electrocution by using the narrow bathroom sink ledge. The bathroom itself was so small it barely accommodated one person, making it impossible to get ready comfortably. For seven days, we lived out of suitcases scattered across the floor due to the lack of space. Two months before our stay, the VIP concierge emailed us asking for special requests. We asked for a higher-floor room with a window that opened because one of us has breathing issues. Despite this, we were assigned a low-floor room where the open window brought in cigarette smoke from the street. To make matters worse, there was constant hammering and drilling from construction work at an apartment directly across from our window starting at 7:30 AM and continuing past dark. While we understand the hotel can't control outside factors, they completely ignored our requests and didn't even acknowledge them at check-in. If they had simply informed us in advance that they couldn't meet our requests, we would have canceled and booked elsewhere. Instead, we paid €2,300 for a full-price, non-prepay reservation, only to face a disappointing stay. Other issues: * Breakfast was a basic American buffet with no option to custom order eggs or omelets. * We constantly had to request replenishment of in-room coffee, milk, and toilet paper. * By the sixth day, the heating and A/C stopped working. * The hairdryer was broken. * The shower doors leaked water all over the floor after every use, and the cheap caulk job couldn't hide the extensive water damage. These are not the standards of a 4-star hotel. Photos below provide perspective. As compensation for all this, the hotel offered us a free dinner. We had a shared club sandwich and fries on our last night. We were called on the phone hours before dinner informing us no drinks alcohol or otherwise will be included. The positives: The location is central, and the staff were friendly and responsive. Overall, this hotel failed to deliver on basic expectations, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Yelp
My favorite hotel during our stay in Italy! The Palazzo Navona Hotel is located in the perfect spot of Rome that is easily walkable to the main landmarks. It is upscale, trendy and modern! The breakfast buffet was also the fanciest one we've seen during our stay - filled with tons of bakery goodies, eggs, fruit, yogurt and meats. The staff at this hotel were wonderful as well! Will recommend this to all my friends going to Rome and hope to stay here again in the future. Also - has a rooftop restaurant and bar!

Yelp
I don't know what more we could have asked for! It was my first time in Rome and the location was perfection! Central to everything and the accommodations were lovely! The staff went above and beyond! Big shout out to the bartender, Luca, for his expert skills and attention to detail! I see no need to ever stay anywhere else!

Yelp
Great hotel in the midst all of Rome's major attractions, friendly staff especially David at the front desk. Arrived with reservation but it turns out Traveluro never sent the booking to the hotel. Hotel staff was able to offer a discounted rate to put us up for the night. On the day of departure, I left an item in the lobby as I was rushing to the airport. Again, David was able to hire a trusted taxi driver to bring the item to the airport in a matter of an hour. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome.

Yelp
A wonderful modern boutique 6-floor hotel with updated rooms and common areas. The rooftop bar/sitting area was a selling point when considering hotel options and didn't disappoint. The room comes with a stocked complimentary mini fridge, safe, modern bathrooms very comfortable bedding and a quiet setting. The staff could not have been friendly from the front desk to the servers as well as housekeeping. The complementary breakfast is well done, nothing outstanding but what you would expect from a buffet style complimentary breakfast (eggs, pastries, meats and cheese, cereals and yogurt etc). The location was very convenient to attractions and restaurants. I would definitely return.

Yelp
Wonderful establishment. Friendly staff. Has a roof terrace for relaxation. It's close by a lot of the historic sites. Would stay again.

Yelp
We just stayed at this wonderful hotel, centrally located within walking distances of many major tourist attractions but on a quiet side street. We were instantly greeted by a bellman, well groomed and attired. The front desk manager, Silvia, was very professional, polite and customer service oriented. She arranged early access to our room and assisted with dinner reservations. She is a model for what front desk excellence is all about coupled with a gracious and happy demeanor. Our room was spotless, very well maintained and five star amenities including a complimentary cell phone with free local and international calls. The towels were fantastic! That evening, front desk manager Maria Giovanna, was excellent with arrangements for dinner and like Silvia, was professional, polite, well groomed and attired and served as an excellent ambassador for the hotel. Breakfast was spectacular and served in an elegant setting, this was a full breakfast with gourmet quality and lots of options. The buffet area was spotless and serviced frequently. This hotel will be my first pick place to stay on my next trip to Rome and I highly recommend it. An exemplary hotel with an outstanding customer experience in every respect with keen attention to detail. Brent

Yelp
TOP notch hotel located in a fantastic area...easy walking to everything! The hotel is modern but yet inviting with a fantastic European flair. Rooms were clean and very well appointed! All rooms have operable windows and the rooftop terrace was TO DIE FOR! Amazing views of the City! Staff was all very friendly and the morning breakfast was good (nothing too great but nice and easy). The bar staff were outstanding and always went above and beyond with their presentation! Would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Stayed here for about 4 nights with my wife. GREAT LOCATION. Literally a 45 second walk to the Piazza Navona. Also very close to everything else you need to see. The rooms were clean and modern. There is a rooftop patio/bar although we were so busy we never made it up there. The staff was extremely helpful, helping us order taxis to our cruise terminal. If I visit Rome again, I will definitely come back and stay here.

Yelp
2 stars because for ~200 euros a night there was an expectation that this is a quality place. Things right are the location and the rooftop. Things wrong include a non-working remote so no TV. The toilet water pressure was sort of low. The "fitness center" is actually falsely advertised since there isn't one and they said that I could walk 10 minutes and pay 20 euros. The breakfast was fine but the eggs were watery. Also once the key stopped working and the door remained locked. Oh also room service opened our door at 8 AM without knocking.

Yelp
Perfect for first timers in Rome because of the location. It is really walking distance to more of the points of interests in the city. The staff members were so nice and very accomodating. They are very informative as to how to go about the city if you are a first timer. I really wish I can mention the names of the team members that were really helpful, but, since this review has been long overdue I have forgotten their names. Rooms were very clean and seems well kept by housekeeping. Terrace has quite an overwhelming view. This is a first class boutique hotel. If ever I will be in rome again, i'd definitely stay here . Thank you for a very memorable accomodation.

Yelp
LOVELY hotel. Wonderful, friendly helpful staff. Front desk were so nice upon our arrival. We checked in after a long travel day from SG and the day in Siena and dropping of rental car (that in itself was nuts). We were told that cocktails and appetizers were up on the 6th floor terrace. Wow. It was a really nice way to start our stay. Our room was lovely (thank heavens for good a/c due to location of hotel--it would have been a noisy evening). A personalized note in our room welcoming us. A free cell phone for our use if we needed (?) The view and beginning of a sunset was a nice was to start off our stay in Rome. We asked for a suggestion for dinner. We ate there 2 nights in a row. The hotel is centrally located to everything. It really perfect. BUT BUT here is what blew it for me. The breakfast had cold eggs (2 days in a row). They need to just put them in a chafing dish. Coffee was from a Nescafé machine. CRAP. Just awful. There is an espresso machine in the bar (which I found too late), which could have saved me. I will not return unfortunately for that reason.

Yelp
We loved our room at Palazzo Navona - it was modern and elegant. The location can't be beat if you're visiting for tourism, because we were able to walk within 20 minutes to almost everything. There's a nice rooftop, but it was too cold for us to use it. Free breakfast in the morning is pretty good, and the hotel bar seemed nice as well although we did not make use. I am a fan What set this hotel apart in my eyes was the free-use smart phone in our room. You can make calls, use the Internet, look up nearby restaurants, book tours, etc., all through this phone for free. This was something I didn't think would ever be offered by a hotel, so it caught me completely by surprise. As an international traveler, though, this was an invaluable tool that allowed us to enjoy the trip more by being able to find things quickly without worrying if we were going over our international data limit! The only detractor would be the level of service of the front desk. They were very nice, but sometimes when we asked questions about things to do, all they had was to give us the tour company brochures. I'm not sure what concierge service is like otherwise in Italy, but at least coming from the US, at an expensive hotel I expect a bit more. Ah well, they were good enough that I still give this place 5 stars.

Yelp
This hotel is excellent and very reasonably priced. Its in a perfect location, walking distance to many of the best sights. Its only one block from the Piazza Navona which is spectacular. The people that work here are extremely friendly and nice. They provide you with a free cell phone to use while you are their guests and you can make free calls to the US and Europe. The room is beautiful, modern and really spotless and quiet for such a busy location. If I have one complaint, its the breakfast which is complimentary but not up to par with the rest of the hotel's amenities. We will definitely be staying here again next year.

Yelp
Never have I been more discriminated against in my entire life! I came with my friend here to check in and have drinks once we arrived. When I came back, the same lady that checked her in (and saw me) asked where I'm going. I told her to my friend's room. She told me she needs to see my passport. I told her I don't have it and she said I can't go up unless I have a passport. I asked what the problem was and she said she needs to call her manager. The manager came out. Same lady we saw earlier. She also said I can't go up because she needs my passport for security reasons. So I just walked towards the elevator because it's bullshit. They stopped the elevator and within seconds I was surrounded by 4 men. My friend came down and they were arguing with us and causing a huge scene. I asked my husband to come meet us. Of course he walks in with no problem. He walked right by both ladies. I asked the front desk lady and manager (frederica) WHY DIDNT YOU ASK FOR HIS PASSPORT??? They said they didn't see him. Oh, I'm sure...I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANY OF THEIR PROPERTIES DUE TO THIS. This is despicable behavior and the color of someone's skin should never be the cause for any problems.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this hotel. Great location in the city. We walked all over Rome from our hotel and definitely nice to come back to an air conditioned room! The room felt very clean and comfortable. The staff was also very nice and helpful. They have free wifi. My only complaint is every time you want to login to the wifi you have to reenter a special code of numbers and letters, which is different for every device, which was a little tedious. I would stay again!

Yelp
Wonderful fairly new hotel with excellent location, super comfy rooms (very comfy King bed, strong and silent AC, block out curtains), and excellent service. Carla at the front desk was all around terrific. Included breakfast was good. Wi-Fi was fast. The roof terrace is a delightful place to hangout, read, or drink. The only disappointment was the small bathroom.

Al G.

Yelp
We've traveled extensively, both work and pleasure, for over 30 years and never ran into a problem like this. This hotel was highly recommended by friends who had stayed 2 years ago. We made reservations in March 2021 for an October 2021 8-night stay. They required payment in full up front. We sent our credit card which initially was declined due to fraud protection algorithms. We authorized the card and asked that they re-run it. They asked that we send a wire transfer for the full amount instead, that we declined. We gave them an alternative card. They have yet to run either card and it is now to the point that hotels are filling up quickly in Rome. This all took place over a 3 month period from the original reservations with emails, primarily from us, back and forth. Their response to our requests for confirmation have largely been ignored so we booked another hotel more centrally located and which is a true 5-star property. I understand that things have been fluid with the pandemic but you cannot get timely responses to emails nor can you call without getting a recording which says contact them by email. The customer service for this supposedly '5-star' hotel is non-existent.

Yelp
Stayed here last summer. Service was excellent, hotel was nice, and the location was good. We were walking distance to a lot of restaurants and boutique shops. Would definitely stay here again if I visit Rome.

Anthony C.

Yelp
This hotel was great. Service was remarkable as well. Pietro was a major help, and extremely nice. The whole staff was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Rome.

Mike W.

Yelp
Boutique hotel with a ton of class and a staff with the best service we had at any hotel in Italy. In minutes the front desk would have taxis ordered or dinner reservations made. Breakfast service was solid, and the views from their roof top lounge were awesome. Our only issue was that the food served on the roof deck was awful, but we only tried it once. Over all, this was a great hotel, highly recommended.
