Perfect location for experiencing Vicenza and easily accommodated our large family group. Steeped in history and beauty. We could not have been more impressed. Our very first trip to Italy, but if/when we come again, this is definitely where we would want to stay. Loved it!

Just a wonderful experience. The palace is located in a little courtyard a 5 minute walk from the center. It is a Palladio designed masterpiece. We stayed in the Luigi suite on the second floor which was so cozy and beautiful. A little kitchen allowed usto make a bfast and coffee. Great bed, great shower and a wonderful owner. There is a washing machine and drying rack on the ground level which was a huge help. Vicenza is a fabulous town…. Great food of course and lots to wander. I can’t say enough good things.

We would highly recommend stay at Palazzo Valmarana Braga in Vicenza. It is centrally located with easy access to great restaurants, shopping, museums, and all the historic sites. The best part is actually staying in a palace designed by Palladio and to feel part of that history. We stayed in the lovely Andrea Palladio apartment with its original frescoes. Comfort has been achieved (updated bathroom, etc.) without detracting from the historic palace. Francesca was very helpful with check in, check out and other great information. ||We stayed two nights and took the tour by Palladian Roots called “Palladian Classic – Vicenza 1 day experience“ which was fantastic. The tour started right at Palazzo Valmarana Braga. The stay at the Palazzo and the tour were by far the best way to experience the history of any Italian town we’ve been to yet.

The entire building was designed by Palladio in late 16th century. You literally stay inside a UNESCO heritage site. The room is spacious and the decor would make any history fan cry (in an exciting way). Even the kids can tell the difference and appreciate the beauty. ||||The facility is not luxury, but sufficient. To my surprise, it even has a lift. It is within walking distance to many Palladio's buildings. A small convenient store and a wine bar are right across the alley. 200 meters away, you'll find a Michellin restaurant, with below $20 dish available. ||||If you are tired of hotel/restaurant food, just go grab something and cook for yourself. ||||It'd be great if I could park my car on site, but don't get me wrong, over night parking facility 400 meters away isn't terribly bad.

Unfortunately we booked "Appartamento Francesca" which is one of the apartments offered under the "Book" section of the webiste. It is NOT in the Palazzo. I've just looked at the website again. On close reading, it says that the Palazzo has 7 appartments, then there are a couple more when you go to "Book", but the "more details" do not say much and certainly don't say that "Appartamento Francesca" is the attic of the house two doors away reached over the roof tops. I was so disappointed. I only booked the place because Palladio had worked on the Palazzo and I thought staying in the Palazzo would be interesting. Also the bathroom in Appartamento Francesca was horrible; very small with a shower with 2 nasty shower screens which didn't shut properly and the control was outside them. I booked it partly for the roof top view but we didn't use the terrace. It wasn't very enticing with its corrugated plastic awning. The room was fine. Location cannot be beaten - and the apartments actually in the Palazzo may be great, but I strongly recommend against booking "Appartamento Francesca"

How wonderful to stay in Vicenza so centrally and in a Palladian palace! It conformed to my 3 ‘c’s -central, cool and clean. The second floor apartment had a large living and dining area and a large bedroom with small kitchen and bathroom. Our living area had a view along the ionic column capitals facing onto the courtyard. This is not ‘posh’ stuff, in fact it is pretty basic, but charming nonetheless. ||The kitchen didn’t seem much used, but why would you when you can step outside and be in central Vicenza? The bed was comfortable with a breathable duvet and cotton bedsheets. It’s a really good pied a terre for visiting the city.

I did not expect my apartment to be a whole palace wing! It was interesting to stay in such a historic edifice designed by Andrea Palladio himself! There were huge columns and a quiet courtyard. The place was very spacious, a little spartan, but clean and comfortable and had everything needed from a small kitchen, to drying rack and iron. The air conditioning unit was effective in the heat. The city centre was very close. The young girl on staff was very polite and helpful.

I arranged for my friends and family to stay at the Palazzo Valmarana Braga during our stay in Vicenza. We stayed in a number of apartments - my favourite being the Andrea Palladio which was akin to staying in the rooms of a palace! The apartments were a great hit with everyone. The owner Francesca, who speaks English, was very welcoming and helpful. The apartments are located within a very historic building - in the heart of the city - meaning that the sights and restaurants are just a short walk away. Being apartments this is a self-catering option. A big supermarket is just a few minutes walk away. This is not the place for someone looking for the services of a hotel (i.e hotel restaurant, front-desk) - however if you are someone who is wanting to stay in a friendly, historic gem of a place - then this is definitely the place for you! Thank you Francesca for a lovely stay :)
