Really beautiful building and apartment and in a great central area. Parking was not too difficult for us nearby for free. Read the reviews about noise from the bars so was a bit worried but they didn’t keep us up. I always have earplugs and my partner doesn’t use them and we both slept perfectly. The double glazed windows keep the noise out pretty well. We were there Sunday-Tuesday and the bars were still busy and open late but the noise was mainly people, with some music early on, but it wasn’t a problem for us at all and I can be a light sleeper. We found the place on Airbnb which has loads of recent positive reviews but much cheaper to book direct!

We loved our stay at Palazzu Stidda. The decor was rustic but extremely thoughtful. It’s all very artistic and feels true to the era of the incredible building. The noise from bar below was not an issue for us, in fact we enjoyed having a fun bar so close. There is a gorgeous shared patio on the second floor and we had two small private balconies as part of our room. We were very grateful for the AC in the 100 degree Sicilian heat. Super close to the market and great restaurants. Good vibes all around.

We were two couples traveling and we stayed in the apartment Ammiraglia for 3 nights. It was perfect for us. We loved the large space and the quirky decor. It was in a excellent location to discover Catania. We also enjoyed cooking in one evening after buying fresh fish at the local market. It made for a memorable time in Catania. Sara, the host, was excellent at communicating.

We loved everything about our stay at Palazzu Stidda. The hosts were fantastic, emailing us before we travelled to give us directions and other details and then texting or being there while we were there to make sure everything was perfect. It fely like they genuinely cared if we had a good stay. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well decorated and incredibly spacious with a fulled equiped kitchen, TV, Air conditioning and wifi. There were also laundry facilities and a lovely little garden terrace. The apartment is very close to many good bars, restaurants and shops and a short walk to the fish market, Piazza Duomo and Castello Ursino. Despite this it was very quiet in the night and we always had a good, undisturbed sleep. I stayed there with just my wife but the apartment can accomodate 6 people easily without being cramped. If you come to Catania, stay here, you wont be disappointed. The man looking after us even gave us a lift to the airport!

We arrived at midnight and during the first day of our 2 night stay from 9am-late evening there was no water and electricity. As a result, wifi and AC etc. were also not working. These are essential things for a travel accommodation and lack of them makes it uninhabitable. After waiting for a few hours for the facilities to work again so we could shower and start our day, we left the accommodation to find wifi so that we can contact the host. The host had sent a message a couple hours earlier stating there was an outage and they bear no responsibility. The host did not make any efforts to remedy the situation. So, if you plan to stay here, make sure you can manage off bird baths and no AC. You may also need to go into a cobweb filled utility room to reset the water pump. The property owner is running a business, and should be prepared for unexpected situations relating to the services that they are providing. We received no response after checking out and they later deleted all our messages. Again, electricity and water are absolute basic facilities that any accommodation is expected to have throughout a fully booked stay. Other things to note are extremely weak AC, pillows with smoke odour, uncomfortable bed, broken chairs, dirty dishes, lack of privacy in the bathroom due to sheer curtain, and lack of lighting in stairwell to get to the unit.

We stayed here overnight before flying from Catania airport next day. The owners were clear in their communication and everything was straight forward for our arrival without them having to meet us at property. The decor of accommodation was interesting a mixture of antiques and retro. Lovely garden area to sit in and the laundry room was really useful. We have stayed in Catania 5 times now and this was by far the best accommodation and location. We will return.

We have really had a wonderful stay here in January. The owners Giovanni and Patricia have captured the history of Catania in their apartments and have created an artistic space for guests to appreciate the many facets of Sicilian culture.||Giovanni gave us in insight into the history of the apartments and sightseeing in Catania. The caretaker Anil is very kind and helpful and picked us up at the airport and in a great location.||We can highly recommend Palazzu Stidda for guests who really want to experience the real Catania.||Pia & Selena ( Sydney, Australia)

We truly enjoyed our stay at Palazzu Stidda and enjoyed the warm hospitality of Patricia and Giovanni. The Palazzu itself is a stunner, and we loved what Patricia and Giovanni had done with it - beautiful details and interior all around. We want to return to Palazzu for warmer weather to sit in the balcony and enjoy the wonderful terrace. The Palazzu is warm and cosy in the winter though and we loved the off season experience in Catania. Palazzu’s location is very good!||Thank you Patricia and Giovanni!
